If I were you, first would compare both the versions of Karizma to see if there is a room to make this alteration. Take a deep insight on the rear arm and try to make out some measurement to see if disc set up could accommodate. I would be very careful before going this mod as least this should not destabilize or bring the handling a question mark.Originally posted by shadu View Post

Bought the bike from Mumbai, and since i was at pune, i dint get a NOC! Since in kerala we need it in case only if the bike is from a different state!, but Mumbai is different place i guess, the RTO at pune dint allow it! and now the previous owner is also not availableOriginally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostSo you didn't changed the ownership? I thought the bike is your brothers or something like that

Since its registered in Mumbai the bike can be used anywhere in Maharashtra. Thats not a problem. But in-case you have shifted to a new state( i presume Kerala) you will have to get the bike registered in the new state by paying the road tax. Also for this you need to get the NOC from the Maharashtra RTO.Originally posted by 130kmph@17bhp View PostBought the bike from Mumbai, and since i was at pune, i dint get a NOC! If you are using the bike temporarily in Kerala don't bother to have it changed..you can manage for a few days with MH registration.

The rear disk from the ZMR can be mounted on the ZMA.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostIf I were you, first would compare both the versions of Karizma to see if there is a room to make this alteration. You will need the following parts:
1. Rear Alloy Wheel ( to fix the rotor disk) - Of the ZMR
2. Swing Arm (which has the mounts for the calipers) - am not sure about this, maybe you could avoid this. You will still have to get the mounting bracket for the calipers.
3. Master cylinder, the whole disk plumbing with hose etc. etc.
4. A lot of Money and Patience ....
The rear wheel on the ZMR is also 18 inches and the swing arm are also the same.So there would not be any handling issues.

Was the list recommended by the SVC or a local mech. My dvice would be that you stick to a single person to service and repair the bike.sigpic

If the oil leak is from the highest part of the head the valve inspection cap is leaky...change the '0' ringOriginally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostI can see oil over the left upper part of the engine head,Near gear axle,Under the engine, etc

Yeah,Now i do all my repairs at the local mech,I don't believe SVC anymore.
For oil leak from Gear shaft area...three possibilities.
1. Drive shaft oil seal.
2. Gear shaft oil seal
3. Neutral indicator connecting stub '0' ring.
All parts are available....In my ZMA I had oil leak from Gear shifter side and even after changing Drive shaft and gear shifter oil seals problem continued...then it was foundto be the Neutral indicator connecting stub ..replaced at Rs.28/- from HH...with outside Mech.
A Picture of specific area will help. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

^^^Just the o-ring, seals and gaskets should not cost you 2500. Suggest you buy hem and ask the mech to fit them.
Check for yourself if the clutch plates needs to be replaced. By "clutch vasing"...i guess he means clutch washing...but that again don't make sense. Probe him more and ask what exact ally he means..sigpic

I had a deep look at a zmr today in my office parking. I am pretty sure now this will be a direct fit without much hassle. I think we can even retain the same swing arm if a small welding can be done for the rod (1 feet black rod connecting caliper to swingarm) mount at the point where it connects to the swingarm.Originally posted by Race_Developed View PostThe rear disk from the ZMR can be mounted on the ZMA.

What i dont know is where the rear master cylinder sits ?
I think the costs will be within 8k and benefits will be really worth it.
