    • Last month I bought a 2006 Karizma. Repainting works are going on and expects to be on road in 3 days. I am always wanted to own a ZMA, but never got chance to until now. Be frank, I didnt even rode the one which I bought ( Did a complete checkup and test ride before buying that). I wanted to gift this bike to my little brother who still have no idea about this bike. So wanted to ask few things about ZMA

Does long rides give back pain to rider?

Does bigger tyre causes handling issues?

Fixing K&N filter causes any issues in these bikes? (I do have one in my RX. I can feel the air intaking sound and more pickup as well as mileage got increased. Smoke emission also became more clean than before. But does this work same awesome in 4 stroke bikes?)

Adjust it at night with the headlights on, do it in an open space so you will know where the beam is pointing

If you are worried about back pain then this is the best bike to take on a long ride. All other performance bikes have sportier seating. I have a M45 4.00 on the bike thats almost equivalent to 120/90, although it has better grip than stock it has a higher profile too so it increases the height of the bike at the rear. I noticed the bike doesn't lean in corners as well as before. You ll find rave reviews about this tyre over here but i'll suggest you to stick to stock size if you re worried about handling. Haven't tried K&N so cant comment on that.

but what actually is engine flushing and how is it done?
does it require opening up of the engine and will the HH guys understand "engine flushing" or there is a layman term for it

i heard that since kerosene and diesel are heavy fuels they do not evaporate and tend to stick to the chain
it is done using a liquid. engine is not opened for flushing.

              hey doc,
im also from tvm, pattom to be exact, where is your bike getting painted?
anyway, let me answer your queries
              1) with the current state of roads in the capital, i would say yes.if your carrying a backpack then definitely.
              2) bigger tyre=more grip with substantially less mileage &
              3) u'll have to upjet your carb inorder to fit a k&n oelse you risk screwing up your engine.

i also advise you to keep stock of some spares like cables and othe misc items as availability of parts is short generally.

                • Engine Oil Query

                  Hello All,

I am posting this on behalf of my friend.

He has got his second service due and he would like to know which engine oil is best suitable for his Karizma R.

                  Kms done: 3133 Km

Secondly does it void any warranty if engine oil of own choice used?

What will be quantity to put it in engine? (Like 1 liter or 2 liter)

                  Comment

the best engine oil is the hh stock oil and the quantity is one liter.

Karizma is best tourer. wont give any back pains

Put in a Michellin Pilot sporty ( same size as stock) Michellin m45 ( around 104 on size )or Pirelli sport demon, m45 is lighter than pirelli. definitely bettter grip

Incase u fit K&N, then you need to do jetting, to increase fuel intake.
                            the karizma jets are expensive.

Since u got a used bike, change engine oil, decarb it, and change clutch and acceletor cables for smooth movement.

                            • today me n my frnd went 2 the hh service centre

my frnds cbz -x was making rattle sounds , so he wanted 2 get it checked up

while he was busy with d mech. i noticed that there was no electricity on d service centre so the mech were using the screw drivers 2 open d panels and do the servicing of d bikes

i noticed that a mech opened the airfilter box of a cbz, as there was no electricity so he couldnt clean the airfilter by blowing compressed air , so jus tapped the filter couple of times on the floor and then refitted it....and done

he saw me lookin at his wrk n then he gave me a smile...

what a nice servicing we r getting in d work shop.......now whom do we trust??

d local mech, or d smiling hhsvc guys

I ususally ride at 60-80kmph and changes gears at 4000-4500rpm. The bike has done 36000Kms. I checked the bike with HH Service Guys and they did an engine decarb, changed clutchplates, sparkplug, airfilter but the problem is still present. The engine gives burning smell and the tank heats up after a stop after a 20km ride, no white smoke is produced. The servive guys said the engine is perfect but the heating is there they checked the oil pumps and finds no problem. The heating is less after service although the engine oil is not changed and after a 400km it starts over heating. I took it to a local mech he too didnt find any cause and told that the engineoil is good and there is no need to change for another 400km the engine was ok for short rides and again it started overheating. I was using HH oil then and changed to AGIP racing4t Fully synthetic But there is the same problem although 400km intervel changed to a 600km. Every thing in the bike is stock other than the rear tyre which is 120/80 zapper. Nobody was able to find the problem.
                                Guys please help me.
Finally the problem is solved. I've changed oil to Motul 300v 15w50 and the problem is solved. Done 350kms no heating. I used 15w50 I thought the engine is overheating so the oil required more viscosity at higher temperature. Engine is running smoothly and no problems yet.
Its returning me 42kmpl on long rides and 38 in city.
Thanks to all for the help.
