Its from the 2011 ZMA onwards.I had asked the svc what is this hole, but their response was" its for the battery" When i opened Ashwin's ZMA i found that there is nothing for battery. Its just a hole.
    May be for looks.

Regarding the hard shift ,I had noted the same more with 10w30 than 20w40..it becomes more evident with heating, and even with 20w40 after doing 110 Kmph for about 20 to 30 minutes, or creeping for long (20 minutes or more in hot Sun)in city traffic, the specific problem crops up. Heat seem to make the oil thin and leads to hard shifts. still a 20w40 gives less problem when hot than a 10w30.Finding the neutral ofcourse is possible from 2 nd gear only, and very rarely I can get the Neutral from the first.
    Just my thought.
Finding neutral from 1st is too difficult . I go to 2nd and then to neutral .

    For what ?
sometimes when starting the bike, theres a cable whipping sound comming from the engine, the same that comes in old cars when the accelerator cable breaks and keeps on rotating. It only happens sometimes, and also is prominent while the bikes in idle and never goes away, until its restarted. So wanted to know whether theres anything wrong with the bike???

Sir, its not just the age, its interest too. You have gathered a very good technical knowledge and experience and we are lucky share thoughts with you.

And thanks for your thoughts on this. I agree that it happens more when the engine is hot. Just now I changed to Petronas FS (10w40) and the gear shifts are a little more slick, though I used it only for 5 kms. I will check tomorrow and see.

Strangely, I find neutral from 1st gear is easier than 2nd, though I have to do a little throttle blip before doing so. And, of course, it happens only fewer times.

Inder bhai, just changed to Petronas FS. Lets see if it improves gear shifting.

      • I also find it difficult to shift to neutral some times. I think its common problem. Not just with ZMA but many other brand bikes also ( well not every brand ). I have to jiggle on the shift pedal at times even now also to find neutral even after close to 1 year usage . Seems like it will take more time to get the hang of it .

Between changed winker relay to TVS one. Blinks faster and i think its better as faster blinks grab more attention. Hero relay takes like 2 seconds to flash again.

a faster blinker will not give adequate time for the bulb to attain full brightness...so it will be less bright... on/off at 2 second apart is the ideal timing to get the brightness and attention..
Only a LED will attain full brightness at faster flashing rates.

Even I had that same fear. So I checked it myself to confirm stood some 25 metres away and still I felt it satisfactory it was quite bright. Will check with other karizma running on stock relay again and will double check.

Alloys and forks are not mine . My friend needs it for his Yezdi . Have to check the coil, starter, head etc.

Yup. Saw it and confirmed. Problem is he got it for a pittance and won't take money from me. Says the wheel, fork, tire and disc brake is worth what he paid. Am planning to see whether it'll start .

Actually my friend bought it . He needs just the mag wheels, disc brake and forks . Whatever's left of the engine parts and chassis is for me to take . I'll take whatever is salvageable from it . No speedo unit . Chassis is a goner . The previous owner had modded it heavily and the modded seat-plate is welded to the chassis . No muffler to the exhaust . Wires are hanging here and there . The problem is this scrap is in my friend's rented 'bike room' which is kept locked unless he is working on one of the bikes . So I can get my hands on it only when he decides to launch his Fury or Yezdi (It'll be the fourth one - I think) .Furthermore I need his help to attempt to run the engine .

Had a near escape yesterday . Was @ 60kmph and when I got a slight gap , tried to overtake the car in front . The car guy started to overtake the vehicle in his front when I was parallel to him . Had to veer to the right and there was a car coming opposite me . Braked hard and I just fish-tailed . Don't know whether it was the front or rear tire that locked . I just remember thinking 'ohh ...s**t I'm gonna crash' . Luckily , after drawing a couple of "S" on the road and putting my right leg on the road once , I regained control . Must've been because the bike was in a leaning position as I veered away from the car that the bike skidded . Am having the OE tire in front and Dunlop Monster at the rear . I've had my doubts about the 'Monster' even earlier . I think it's harder than I thought it was . The car guy later gave me gap to overtake and was shouting something as I passed him . I just smiled at him and waved - thankful nothing serious had happened .

                        • I would like to share my experience with Honda CBR Fully Synthetic oil(10W30).
I started using this oil 6 months ago when my bike had 12k running. Before using this oil I had tried few of mineral oil brands(Gulf,Motul). I was not satisfied with engine smoothness and hard gear shift. Now after using Honda FS oil initially I did not notice much improvement. But after 1000 KM oil started showing its magic. My bike has become very smooth and gear shifts are extremely slick. Huge improvement than any mineral oil I have used. I am getting mileage 37(was getting same with mineral oil). I have not faced any major oil leak issue. Last week I changed the oil after 4.5k KM and 4 months usage . I checked the oil level it was 900ml. So 100 ml oil leak is not major issue IMO. So really happy with the performance of this oil

Did you use the normal oil change procedure??? Or did you use FLUSH???

                            @Acs Sir,
Overtaking while being overtaken is really reckless. This is a commonly done by Transport Bus's and 4 wheel drivers. What I usually do is, when I sense them trying to overtake, I wreck havoc with my Rs.190 Tractor Horn and I have to say, its a VFM product.
I believe its best you dont overtake while in run-in, cause you'll be forced not to accelerate/ride in power band. When I overtake, I'll make sure am in the powerband, and wont upshift no matter what till I'm done overtaking.
Have faced similar incidents while overtaking, cause my pillion's always late and hence will have to race to college, everytime I go hard on the front, the front loses traction and we're on the verge of falling, but thankfully, being in the power band has saved us, cause everytime I get the dreaded feeling that am about to fall, then I rip the throttle hard and somehow the bike manages to stabilize itself.
