I don't know about the norm or rule, but the power values at wheel are generally low and companies/manufacturers don't prefer to quote low values. If manufacturers don't follow one rule, then there will be hell lot of confusion. For example if Honda says the power values at wheel of CBR250R's as 17bhp (approximately figure) and for Karizma if Hero Honda quotes 17bhp at crank, there will be lot of confusion and general public will believe the power of CBR and Karizma are same.

Other than that there is another issue present If the power is calculated at rear wheel then the variables are greater I.e Even chain slack and lubrication can cause a difference, and that too from piece to piece, eg. If we both purchase ZMA's then yours might be 14.7 and mine 14.3. But when calculated at crank the chance of variance is so low that its negligible.

Is there a 'software' rev limiter for the ZMA ? For the ZMA to be able to reach 9500 rpm in top gear something like I did to my ride is required .142.5 kmph in the OE set-up is not attainable . NOS is 'destructive' in the long run . For daily use it's not feasible .
As you said , parameters like compression ratio , timing , valve size/opening time/number etc are varied to get required results . Both the Duke and 200NS even though having more power , max out @ 136 kmph .
BTW is the power measured at the crank or at the rear wheel ( in Indian scenario )?
Due to quality issues of fuel available , vehicles launched in India are de-tuned and made less powerful than their counterparts elsewhere . I guess you can see that even in cars .
Neither is the Max torque ,the maximum Air Breathing stage, nor is the Max HP....Air breathing is independent of this.
The Rev limiter in ZMA can be due to programmed logic or wave shaping circuit..unless we open one of the module we cannot be sure.
Both the Duke and 200NS even though having more power , max out @ 136 kmph .
so it is clear power need not mean higher speed .
Power of most automobiles is mentioned as measured at the crank, because it is repeatable...Dyno figures are measured at the wheel.
India has some funny rules applicable from Humans to Automobiles, which makes many design, developer, to confirm to it, to sell the product in the market.

              • One friend is transforming his Karizma-R into ZMR . One of big task is Speedometer assembly change .
But today we sucessfully matched the ZMR speedometer to Karizma-R .
Just the RTMI is not working & having issue with the FI light will sort it out later as its night .
Not a big task just 7 wire needs rearranged .
No pics but will capture & post if some one needs & interested .

It took couple of hours as Karizma-R wiring diagram i have is not clear .

Sorry if anyone feels its off topic & not to be posted here .

Above_All, this is a Karizma thread; where else you post modifications of Karizma if not this.

interesting. The whole yard? I mean, including FI & oil cooled?. Or cosmetic only?

Yes the Fi part is what i am very much interested to know...i guess it is only cosmetic since Fi will involve IAT,O2 Lambda sensor,ECU integration along with Fuel pump...and the entire Wire Harness change....

                              • Hi everyone

I have a question, My bike completed 3000+ kms, the 2nd service was done a week ago. The SVC ppl changed the oil with the regular OE oil,

Can I change to 20w40 grade oil now ? Or should I for any reason wait for the 3rd service ?

                                Ryan
