Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Seems like a maintenance issue rather than a replacement issue. Get a good mechanic and service the carb before you go for replacement.Originally posted by in_dra View PostIt doesn't stay in normal race and whenever I try to start it need a choke and when I try to change the gear the race doesn't go down it will stay more than 3000 rpm after more then 5 second it need to go down the racesigpic

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
While conversing with a fellow enthusiast yesterday he confirmed that the new Apache RTR200 runs off a carburetor similar to the ZMA's with the differences being;
1. 115 main jet.
2. No carb mounted TPS.
3. Carb mounted choke lever.
Do research on the same before finalizing on a new carburetor as the ZMA's carburetor costs 5.5~6k now.Motorcycling Experience:

You are correct, thats what i said so. If he get a good mechanic he can buy internal parts which needs to replaced and it can be fixed.Originally posted by acs1207 View PostSeems like a maintenance issue rather than a replacement issue. Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Get hold of friend who owns a zma
swap(exchange) the carburretor and then check for any problems.
If none of your friend has karizma,
then go to various mechanics and request him to arrange carb of other zma ,which might be there for servicing/repairing purpose and then try that, before finalizing that the carb is the only culprit.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Today i heard sound of other karizmas
and found that they sound very different from mine while running.
What could be the culprit?
My bike is in good condition ,nothing is wrong with my bike ,but why it sounds different from other zma's?

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
That depends, if you are talking only about exhaust note, then could be silencer inner conditions and mount at piston head, check for any licks, or corrosion inside exhaust muffler or if broken anything.Originally posted by Om1234 View PostToday i heard sound of other karizmas

Re: 2007 Karizma charging problem
hi friends, does anyone have any knowledge in this regard? thank you in advance.Originally posted by ajay_meda View PostHi Everyone,
I have a 2007 Karizma using Exide 7A battery (2 yrs old) and recently observed that the battery was becoming weak with each passing day. After couple of days, the self start completely stopped working so I gave my battery for charging in a battery shop. After checking they told me that the battery is not of use anymore and I need to get a new one.
Being curious to find the root cause, I tested the no-load voltage of the battery while still connected to the bike and it was showing 11.5v and when self motor is used it went down to 8-9v. Interestingly, I disconnected the battery, used kick-start to start the bike and tested the voltage being output at the red and black cables of the bike and it showed only 2V DC. Is this the cause for the battery not getting charged properly in the first case? What is the normal voltage output at the red and black cables while the battery is disconnected and engine still running?
Does anyone have experience on how to check the alternator and rectifier of Karizma?
Please help.
Thanks,

Re: 2007 Karizma charging problem
Seems like a failed rectifier , check the alternator output at the rectifier unit. If its more than 14v alternator is good . Change the rectifier & u r good to go.Originally posted by ajay_meda View PostHi Everyone,

Re: 2007 Karizma charging problem
Correct, if a rectifier is faulty then it cant be repaired, try getting new one. Same happened to my frnds karizma, and it was expensive to buy new one, so a electrician /mechanic uncle at my place put a auto rikshaw rectifier in karizma. Both rectifiers are having 5 pins but Its shape is different but works fine with karizma and battery is also charging well. We had to do jugad to mount it on bike. #Indian jugad #thug life [emoji41]Originally posted by vvk1999 View PostSeems like a failed rectifier , check the alternator output at the rectifier unit. Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
There can be several reasons for different exhaust note, Carbon build-up or some mods in exhaust which are not visible from outside.Originally posted by Om1234 View PostToday i heard sound of other karizmas

If your bike is running fine, please don't fiddle with it for exhaust not.

but there would be some different from a normal zma, that may be the problem in mine.Originally posted by Mandar_C500 View PostThere can be several reasons for different exhaust note, Carbon build-up or some mods in exhaust which are not visible from outside.

Exhaust sound differs due to multiple reasons which include:Originally posted by Om1234 View PostToday i heard sound of other karizmas

- poor compression, but that means you will have less power and fuel economy
- exhaust has heavy carbon build up inside, probably the bike was run for a long time with worn piston/rings resulting in engine oil to burn inside cylinder
- cracked/rusted exhaust. But Hero Honda exhausts are of best quality and so there is less chance for this.
- misfitted exhaust at the cylinder head probably due to busted gasket
I have personally experienced point#2 in my Hunk. My bike was ridden for 10k kms burning engine oil and exhaust slowly became muted. I ran the bike for 14k kms after engine rebuild, but the exhaust remained muted as the carbon buildup inside exhaust was not cleaned up during rebuild.

2.Fuel economy is around 45
3.Yes i had replaced piston,
How to remove carbon from exhaust?
