One of the Outside mechanic told me that the CBZ clutch plates are compatible with the ZMA... for non OE plates, we are free chose from many other manufacturers and depending on the area , availability will be the criteria. But my choice would be Bosch available for Rs.200/- on line..

I had done roughly 35,000 Kms on my 2007 ZMA and the stock plates are still doing good..

With Hero parts dwindling in Quality I would go with the Bosch plates since they are known for quality..

It took longer (about 8 days) because the parts were difficult to source even for them but their customer service responded promptly when needed. At least I can re assemble the engine now after 4 months of waiting

Good to see someone stocking karizma parts. Dealers are clueless about parts and service. Just checked the website and a lot of parts are listed.

Check for air leaks around carb manifold if nothing is found dont worry much. Just use choke during cold start. In search of cold start problem i opened carb adjusted valves checked for leaks but no avail. [emoji1]

Drive in 3rd gear, release the throttle completely and let the speed fall to 1-12 kmph then try to accelerate immediately with a heavy twist. If the engine doesn't knock horribly (i mean bike picks up speed slowly but without any hiccups or knocking) then & ONLY THEN you should change your clutch plates.

                  Sir is this method correct?

Knocking is due to pre ignition and has nothing to do with clutch plates...To check clutch slip, go to Top gear and drive slowly at 40 Kmph..now accelerate fast and see if the RPM jumps, WITHOUT INCREASE in the Speed..ie., RPM increases fast and speed lags behind very much..For ZMA the ratio of RPM Vs speed on top gear is 15 Kmph for every 1,000 RPM...a little lag is acceptable, but if it is more than 1,000 RPM vs indicated speed and RPM keeps rising without appreciable increase in speed, it is a sure indication of clutch slip.

Sir These brand plates are available other than stock in my area
                      1.MAKINO
                      2.USHA
                      3.ENDURANCE
                      4.DASY
                      5.OSHINO
                      6.SKF
and the last one is BOSCH which you suggested
Sir among these which would perform the best?
Also like rtr disk pads are direct fit in zma ,is there any clutch plate of another company which is direct fit for zma?

                        In order of preference..
                        1. BOSCH
                        2.USHA / SKF
                        3.MAKINO
                        4. ENDURANCE
I do not know about others...
Do not use RTR pads for front disc ,since they contain steel particles, which will score the disc plate.. You can try sourcing sintered pads of Ninja 250 from Aliexpress which will be about 600 only, and is VFM since it works well in wet conditions also..I am using it presently for the last 3 k kms in my ZMA. with no set back, and my braking is superior...A mechanic told me the CBZ clutch plates are compatible with ZMA, though I do not have confirmation ...
                        Good Luck..

Yes they are comptaible,in case of aftermarket products, when we ask for karizma clutch plate
they give the one with cbz written on it.
Now i am confused between bosch and original cbz plates, which one to use.
Would there be a difference in clutch plates of a 150cc bike and a 223cc one?

Only the application of the plates are different in CBZ and ZMA...In CBZ I feel the plates last longer than ZMA due to difference in Torque and power delivery. So there being no significant difference a CBZ set will work as well in ZMA. On the other hand the Bosch plates are supposed to be for ZMA...I don't know if again it is a marketing gimmick ..

Giving bosch clutch plates a try then, lets see how it goes. Ordered them online ,would take 10 days to arrive.
                              Fingers Crossed till then.
