Reading through the many queries and doubts I wish to share what little I know..
1. Regarding Charging of battery, and idle voltage at battery points, WITHOUT BATTERY, the measured voltage will show low DC voltage. This is because the RR unit is sending out Pulsed DC and not pure DC. The battery is the stabilizing factor . Still if the bike starts without battery then the Stator and RR are ok..
With the battery in Place check voltage WITH ENGINE IDLING..it should read 13.5~14 volts DC. Checking AC volts across the three Yellow wires coming into the RR will show 4 ~6 Volts IN BETWEEN THE 3 wires.. Please understand the ZMA has 3 phase generation and rectification, and the three phases have NO EARTH reference..
2. Regarding the various problems of Engine RPM not coming down as soon as the throttle is closed, there can be 2 reasons.
A. The throttle slide is not moving freely, and if so clean the slide barrel of any muck accumulation and ensure it moves up and down smoothly...
B. the AFR is set very lean...so in this case you must trouble shoot this..
3. Unstable Idle...this can be due to lean AFR or if the AIR cut off valve , located at the right side( rear brake side) of the Carb., developing leak...over a period of time the repeated actuation of the valve makes the rubberised cloth surround of the valve brittle and cracks and holes develop. This will enable the Vacuum in the engine to suck the Fuel in the Idle circuit . ie., it is like a idle fuel leak through..To rule this out, one can block the Rubber tube getting connected to the Valve, and keep the outer stem on the carb also blocked and check idling ...(assuming AFR is not too lean).

Hey guys. Just an update on the hunt for replacements of chipped gears. I've managed to order and receive the parts from thesparescompany.com for the second time. It took longer (about 8 days) because the parts were difficult to source even for them but their customer service responded promptly when needed. At least I can re assemble the engine now after 4 months of waiting

I think my idle RPM is already that. Any clue as to why this is happening? I also get a air ejection burst sound when I turn the engine back on.Originally posted by sloth View PostMy 2014 zma does that. You can increase the idle rpm upto 1450 and try. Nice username brother.

the original hero one,or suggest me some other one please.
