Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
price quoted here is genuine,if crank has to be repairedOriginally posted by abhi4952 View PostI got my engine opened today. The mechanic says that the rocker arms and camshaft, timing chain have to be changed. I will be using a .25 Usha OS piston.
I want to ask a question, will changing just the rocker arms will work? Or is it NECESSARY to change the Camshaft too?
Also the mechanic says the conrod has developed play and he want me to get for the overhaul of the crank. He is quoting 2500 for the bearings and conrod plus laboratory charges and other things.
I checked the conrod and there was a slight lateral play in it. I would check for the up and down play and if it's there I will go for it.
I did my own research and from what I found out that there should be no up and down play in the conrod. Slight lateral play won't cause problems.
Thing is changing all the things will cost me a bomb. Honestly speaking, I can't spend so much. He quotes 8-9k for replacing camshaft, rocker arms, timing chain, crank overhaul and conrod, OS piston and reboring.
Max I can spend is 4-5k.
What all things should I do, and what all can I go for?
What if I go for the head overhaul and leave the crank as it is, and do it after sometime.
Will it cause problems?
Mechanic says the crank would develop some sound if I go just for the engine head overhaul ( I don't trust him, and I think he wants to mint easy bucks).
8k for all the stuff.
Cam shaft ,rocker arms come for rs 1500,
and 2500 your mech quoted
so the price is straightway increased.
and if you are thinking to replace crank after this work,no never do that ,i would suggest getting all stuff done in one go.
Theres no point opening the engine again after putting in so much effort.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
use stock one bro,if your looking for hassle free ownership experience.Carburretor is very complex from inside, you never know which part could cause problems in your bike.Originally posted by in_dra View PostHello everyone Can you tell me the which carburetor is good for karizma R 2010 because my carburetor is not working good should I go for pulsar 200 carburetor
Many people tried bs29 mikuni carb which you are talking about and had a tough time, and they went back to original carb.

In case of carb, stay true to OE.Originally posted by in_dra View PostHello everyone Can you tell me the which carburetor is good for karizma R 2010 because my carburetor is not working good should I go for pulsar 200 carburetor
Regarding any other part I may say mod/ upgrade...
Think about tps.
I am a guy who has an aversion to stock.sigpic

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
As everyone says, stay stock, because stock carburetor comes with right petrol and air settings, and correct float pin which decides fuel rate to your engine. No mods here will help if you are looking for smooth engine response. It is bit costly but worth it against the mileage you get.Originally posted by in_dra View PostHello everyone Can you tell me the which carburetor is good for karizma R 2010 because my carburetor is not working good should I go for pulsar 200 carburetor
