    • Sorry, my last post was due to frustration and lack of confidence.
On slight thoughts I thought that the damages can also be recovered with jugaads (welding etc)
I'm piling all the tasks post semester examination, if you people do a litlle more help of your little brother:

      1. How much fork oil change costs? (post free service, 28k kms done)
      2. Ashwin, Aneesh you both were discussing something related to tape at the fairing....? Can you tell which tape to use and where exactly?
      3. PSR Sir, the idle screw is bent, is it advisable that I show that to the SVC and ask for a carb replacement, because although that previous rpm stuck problem is not there now, but a new carb will do good in everything?? What do you say?
      4. The disc brake pads: do I have to simply buy and replace the existing pads with Ninja 250R ones?? Straight fit??
      5. An amazing "thud thud..." apart from the normal sound sometimes creeps in (from the engine) when the engine is started and is remained in idle.......
      6. Tires: No serious off-roading, very nice roads, good for wet surfaces, cornering...?

      • It's called double sided taping.. Get the black ones... The white ones look ugly.

I just bought it yesterday afternoon and posted...it seems too good to pass off even though it is 10w30,,a grade I normally don't prefer. In another 100 Kms I will be changing oil to this...wait for a week and i will post the user experience

Yeah i know I normally am against the grade...but like I said it was too good a deal to pass...my search on internet showed that the oil had been extensively used in cars upto 4,200cc capacity in USA and had glowing tributes paid to it...the oil I had picked up is meant for 4T motor cycle since it is JASO certified...This is the only oil which also gave the certification number.will know in week's time when I change to it...Presently running on Valvoline 20w40 which still feels like new after 1,500 Kms...

If the ZMA is still under warranty you can demand a replacement carburetor..if they refuse there is still the possibility of changing the AFR screw alone available with SVC.
The Ninja pads are straight fit .
Thud sound from engine ? New to me

Start the habit of opening the throttle in a smooth way rather than in a sudden action, also check spark plug, air filter, chain slackness and tyre pressure.

Thanks for the quick feed back... i usually do 70 ~80 Kmph in city and 110~120 in highway rides...So i may have to make a cocktail mixing 50% of this oil with a good 20 w 40 50%
Let me give it a try KEEPING IN MIND YOUR WARNING..

                  • I think i am the first one here to change the cone set bearings of the new karizma 2011. Will inquire with the service centre and will post here whether the set is of a glamour(large one) or that of a splendour(small one)

                        Hey mate,

I have got the cone set replaced. My bike had run 22,800km at the time of change and my bike is a 2011 model(31-Jan-11). The item code mentioned on the bill is 25K16OS charges Rs.265/- and the labour was a whooping Rs.400/-

Make sure they pack in enough grease at the time of installation & if possible try to stand next to your bike while the service centre guy is working on it. After the installation, take ride & get it adjusted if necessary.

The labour charge is high because the fork must be dismantled along with T stem, and refitted properly.

i guess the 2011 zma -r was launched in late feb and early mar as of my knowledge...and i dont think tht ders a difference in cone se of both the bikes i guess the nly difference is maintenance free battery and smaller jets for FE..

I am getting the work done by my trusty Mechanic, he was a supervisor in a hero honda showroom and have got factory training.
What should i check after getting it replaced?

                              • Since you are not getting it done at the HH ASC , one small note - the SKF made cone set bearings last twice as long and works smoother than the equivalent HH OEM part , at least on the splendor and passion . After the replacement check for smooth full turn movement of the handle with no indentations or clicks felt while turning it , with the bike on mainstand and front wheel off the ground . There should be no noise from the steering column while hitting small pothole at speed too , when corrrectly adjusted . Use the best bearing grease you can get .
