already used bulb with that of a new one.

After all , in the search of truth u can sacrifice the cost of a couple of tail bulbs !!!
Tail bulb I can, ripping open the rear fairing I can't. The piece with hero written on it, the one which locks the other two is jammed in my bike, the last time me and dad tried to remove it, the bolt got disfigured.

Simple matter of one filament bulb getting blown. There is not a great deal of science behind replacing both bulbs. The main reason is because a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. years old bulb will have shorter remaining life than a brand new one. Hence recommendation of replacing both.

        • petronas syntium 10w50 synthetic blend

I am using petronas syntium 15w50 synthetic blend engine oil in my karizma from last 350kms...here is report
At starting when i changed the oil to petronas bike used to make more noises and vibrations...but after 100+kms and some high speed runs it started to show the magical touch...bike is peppy and revs very quickly in all gears(just loving it) there used to be growling sound which has disappeared to an great extent..less engine heating and to surprise rhere is no sluggishness in fifth gear..bike can touch 100+ easily..gear shifting ia not that smooth but ok ok..over all its a great oil and m thinking of give it one more chance..petronas is official oil and lubricants suppliers for Mercedes GP..well i am loving it
They couldn't see me but All they could hear is rustling sound...Always Game!!!

          • This weekend my exams will get over, so will replace the bulbs then. And just for safety's sake will make dad do it, cause if anything goes wrong I can blame it on him.

FYI, am not worried about fusing out a couple of bulbs, it's the fibers am worried about.

Anyways later will post pics of the piece am talking about.

Yup that's it . Since the older bulb will have neared the end of it's life span , it'll blow earlier than the newer bulb . Hence the misconception .

                • Recent riding experience proving Elf Moto 4 Gold 20w40 to be a better oil than Motul 20w40.
Loving the engine more and more...
I'll keep updated about the FE on my kind of riding (these days revving the engine very much)

P.S.: Actually, no comments about which one is better, but I feel that the Elf is better with the particular bike I'm riding....there may be a different case with any other bike(other model).

                    • Considering a Karizma R for a new bike purchase. As of my budget range, there is only the Karizma R and the 220. Since you guys are the owners of the Karizma, can u throw some quick pros and cons of the bike in regard to the recent lot that is coming out from the Hero factory. Or would it be a bad decision to buy an already outdated bike?
You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

YES!!! It's a dated bike, only and I mean only go for it if you love the low end torque and the unmatched reliability it offers.

Else the P220 is the best VFM product in class.

                            • Update.
The cover alone couldn't be removed because the two clips were tighter that they were supposed to be, guess its cause the bikes new, so according to Vineeth bro's advice we removed the complete rear fairing as a single piece instead of going at it one by one, and finally replaced the bulbs, they cost Rs.37 for a pair. The number plate light was also dead so replaced that with one of the original pilot lamps that came with the bike.

The one thing which both me and dad noticed was that the quality of parts were cheap and I mean so cheap that just a wee bit of torque is enough to break them off, in comparison my decade old Kiney's still in tip top shape I.e everytime we disassemble and reassemble we don't have to face petty issues like, fiber parts cracking, screws loosing threads, disfigured bolts etc.

My opinion will be no. I am an owner though. The bike has a very good engine and is comfortable. Good economy too. End of story.

On the other side spares are hard to get. Poor service and its on the edge of being phased out. The plastics are of low quality and has minor niggles that keep on bothering. Better get a second hand one which is in the pre 2011 version. They are very good bikes and have good quality. 2011 one has poor electrical wiring and component quality .
