^Sir, is it that bike when idle'd at 1000rpm runs leaner than when idle'd at 1400rpm?

5th service

tday i went for 5th free service...my bike is nw clocked 10200 kms..last week had a 1600+ ride so went to svc after checking the bike he told me tht there's sum problem wit the rocker arm and cam shaft it might need replacement as the ngine is making weird noises wen it gets hot..but he said tht it will not be covered under warrenty as i hav nt changed oil in 4th service which i did outside...he gave me a budget of almost 1500-2000...but i didnt do the service and the work need u r suggestions ..wht should i do do it frm outside or the svc???

Why the hell you said that you changed oil from somewhere else?
Go to any other SVC around you.
Before going make sure you're using HH oil (recommended one) and then state the problem of "rocker arm and cam shaft" and ask for a replacement under warranty!

I know they have data..but you could have given any excuse. and why you serviced outside? Now when they know it, thats why asked you to visit any other SVC
because if your bike was serviced outside then there wont be any update on the book, show it to them. I'm not gettting what actually you did

Don't do outside unless & untill the mechanic is very good & knows all & have all tools needed . But i suggest to prefer the ASC . I don't think the skipping of engine oil thing will avoid warrenty . Just try to be nice with workshop manager give excuses like not much km i covered in between the 2 service so skipped oil change , if he is good ( hard to find though ) get it done under warrenty .

A good point to other owners prefering warrenty , guys keep using HH/HMC oil untill warrenty expires .

Its online from some months , so maybe other ASC too get data when they fill up details on their online job cards . And i don't think other ASC will easily replace things under warrenty for the bike visiting first time .

IIRC, a few months back, when I was at SVC, a member of the fairer race had brought in her 'Pleasure' cause ants had entered her brake light assembly, and when the SVC guy opened up the seat, he found snacks which she had kept there and lost track off. So my guess'd be that you better clean the bike thoroughly.

Sir, please re-check your AFR and make sure its not too rich.

IIRC, sometime back PSR Sir, mentioned something of the Carb slide coating coming off and causing the carb slide to seize, if everything else fails, check that too.

Sometimes when I open the throttle, it stays open, and doesnt close without my assistance, I'm starting to doubt whether we're facing similar issues. And are'nt the throttle cables 'NOT' supposed to be lubed??? IIRC sometime back PSR Sir, mentioned that they were made in such a way that they dont have to be lubed(Dont remember the technical term.).

Rip the bike apart, and start from scrap. Thats the safest option you've got.

Idle RPM doesnt have an effect on AFR. For best performance, when the bikes extremely HOT!!! set the idle to 1800 RPM's. So in cold mornings the bike'd idle at 1k when dead cold and 1.4~1.5k when moderately hot.

Did you run with excess timing chain slack???. Else there's no possible way the rocker arm and cam shaft could get damaged. And what kind of weird noises does the engine make.

Now coming to the warranty issue, dont submit to any of their claims, just send a mail to Hero claiming that even after all services have been duly performed, the SVC is refusing to carry out warranty replacements. And please do specifically include some legal terms.

Ashwin, read my posts again, I'm not facing any carb slide issue today and was replying to a post by another xbhphian.

Also, On Saturday did a road trip 500kms approx, 100% fun and 0% issue.

Congrats then. I really wish I could be at liberty to do something like that. But, just to make up for that, am planning a top speed run today. Will post the GPS reading when am done.

Your bike is almost a year old and you still want to test top wack out of it? Grow up Ashwin, speed is not something always associated with ZMA, it's a tourers delight. Ask me!

@All :- I personally do not recommend/encourage to test top speed to show up ZMA's capabilities. There are certain ground rules for which you must adhere to. Full riding gear, private and straight road and few friends to help in case of emergency. If you don't have any one of the above stated, DO NOT try! I can only tell you but not force you NOT TO DO it, over and above just think about your family and loved ones before such unwanted acts.

Is anybody here using M45 3.25 up front and M45 4.00 at the rear???? Specifically 3.25 in the front ???

Same here Sri, what i wanted to know is if M45 3.25 is there in the front, would it be an over kill compared to 2.75,marginal difference not a problem.
