Yes i have ridden a P220 with older sirac and yes they has a edge over the sirac street but seriously i found the quality of the sirac street not as bad as they are considered. Im using the sirac street on my ZMR from past 9000kms approx and man they do inspire confidence as previously i used to lean at 70-75 kmph but after i got sirac street i can easily lean on the same road at 95-97 kmph, braking was really good with the stock MRF but now it has became even better if not excellent and my rear wheel doesnot fish tail now.Originally posted by phanikar View PostKindly observe the contrasting statemet that Mr.Gaurav has stated himself for the answer
"Therfore a Made in Thailand tyre = Made in France tyre = Made in France tyre.
The "Made in India" Michelin tyres are adapted for Indian market. The earlier tyres sold were designed for South East Asian market where the mileage expectation was 10k-15k whereas the mileage expectation in the Indian market is 25k-30k."
So Made in Thailand tyre = Made in France tyre = Made in France tyre # Made in India Tyre. So quality is bound to differ.
This is from Michelin (India)website : The manufacturing facility will focus first on a range of Radial Truck/Bus tyres. Updated on
02.05.2012. So even if it was a rumor, then where are the motorcycle tyres are manufactured???????
On a serious note, i really dont trust this guy, Gaurav anymore. Have written numerous mails to him and Michelin directly, no news from anywhere.
One more thing , have you used the older Sirac/street/M45 and newer Sirac street???? The newer ones are harder compound for durability. When you take the newer ones on the wet , its a different ball game. The M45 has become difficult to find than the Dodo. Had enquired places as far as Delhi,Jaipur,Kolkata to get the older M45, but surprisingly got it in bangalore itself
There is one more tyre left (that I know of, but the dealer is quoting a bomb, 4.5-4.7K)speed thrills but kills if you dont have skills

Sir ji its very irritatingOriginally posted by SriramEfunds View PostI would think you are facing the carb slide stuck issue. Kehin Zindabad!
Ok. I've experienced the similar issue during my trips and have managed to live with it. For me, RPM won't move beyond 5k.
When you happen to face this issue, try tapping the side of the carb bowl/body with screwdriver backside or something like, say couple of times. Then try rev the engine and so that it that releases the slide and rpm jumps beyond.
Don't worry too much on this. I'd called the doctor times during my trip when faced this issue. Now, prescription to address the issue learned and practiced.
OT:-However, during my trips, it only happens during the onward jouney and never faced similar issue during the return leg.
I tried 2-3 hits on the carb, keeping the rpm varying..I'll try again in the morning. %*$$% exams, get over fast!!

Are you facing this in the early mornings? I faced this issue all the time during early mornings. During the day, the issue does not surfaces at all.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostSir ji its very irritating

Who knows tomorrow morning, I'm scheduled to go for a ride.. lets see. Now, I'll be worried only if it is not CDI or slide stuck issue.
FYI... Bike's accelerator had too much of ply for a week, PSR and myself opened up and got to see that the cable got tight with inner rust has creeped in. When pulled, it broke into two and when twisted rust weakened wire broke into pieces. Removed the A cable completely and now running on cable B. Though it should not be an issue, carrying on with my scheduled ride. Soon it will be addressed.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Karizma R
Hello all,
I am Dushyant Mate from Mumbai. I returned to India after a long stay abroad. I have renewed bonding with time with my 2008 Karizma as my trusted companion. To my utter shock and dismay, the pick up on the Karizma is pathetic. Even worse is the poor top speed. The bike struggles and takes what seems like eternity to reach 60 kmph. Beyond that, the bike simply runs out of speed even on wide open roads. Most 100cc econobikes overtake me quite easily.
There is rust build up on the inside of the fuel tank. This has caused sludge like formation on the inside of the tank. The reason, I do not believe that this is the main culprit is because the bottom end torque while accelerating from standstill is not too bad. Only, past 40 kmph the bike starts losing steam.
I noticed this problem and took the bike to a HH service center. They suspected that the wheel alignment and rusty tank were the culprit here. So, I spent Rs 3200 to let them do fix wheel alignment and clean the tank. They even, did what they call as "clutch overall".
After I started riding the bike again, I feel only marginal improvement in performance. I am convinced that that the issue lies with the engine somehow.
The bike simply feels anaemic. The HH service man wants to do a block piston job and a clutch rebuild. Before I commit to such heavy expenses, I would like some expert advice from the members of this forum.
Has anyone experience anything similar or has knowledge about how to cure this problem?
Please help.
Thanks,
Dushyant

The latest one was at night, when I decided to have a post-dinner short burst in the city and dare to race with a Skoda Superb, which was a winner no doubt, but it left me with this problem.
I remember those days when this "problem" automatically used to go away and that smile on my face when twist-the-throtlle-and-zoom feeling is back and seems like you're back on a 17bhp high torque machine from a 12! Just hoping for that smile again
Edit: Sir, one of my friend had the same problem, but when he changed his accelerator cable his bike was running all fine :O
All the best for your ride, Sir!
-And your review about SOL helmet is amazing.
P.S.: How to make parents agree for a 5k helmet?

A couple of peels of garlic - crushed- will help keep away rats and mice . Also , strong smelling things like naphthalene balls , eucalyptus oil etc too might help .Originally posted by Ramborider View Postany one have any solution to keep mice rats away from bike, this is 2nd time my tail light and signal light wiring mess, had placed rat cake near rear tire and iner compartment of coul

This rusting had taken place even after lubrication of cable a few months back....hope you remember it.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostFYI... The cable that was rusted is the "B" cable or the "Push" cable. The "A" or the "Pull" cable is ok , but it is better to change both as a set and have peace of mind. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

No ,not to be taken adversely...I try to learn something new each day, and each day proves that yesterday I was not so knowledgeable, and so I know for sure it is not only a continuous learning process, but also a confirmation of my not knowing much......which is what my signature says.Originally posted by aargee View PostAaha...what is this Ji...
