I was reading ZMA-R - Front Disc Brake Service to guide me through. But had one question, do I HAVE to remove the front wheel or can do with the wheel on as well?

yday went to a very known tire shop here and got changed to sirac street on my frnd's unicorn as the stock tires were done above 40k +.
GOT SIRAC STREET 100/90-18 for 2200 wit tube and
sirac street 2.75-18 for 1800 wit tube total cost 4000 wit fitting and got 300 for the old tyres and tube as it had 7-8 punches and 2 paches in rear..
psd 110-80-18 was quoted at 3000.
planning to put 1 b4 rains...
            Hey mate,
Where did you pick up the tyres from? and the PSD price is bang on but from which dealer. Also point to note, PSD is a much heavier tyre than any other brand, so do consider that before making any purchases.

You can go upto 4 if you're rev happy/economy go to hell type of guy or you can go below 3 turns if what you want is mileage at the cost of smooth riding comfort and power ( see Ashwin's sign)..

The method to set the AFR in ZMA is as follows.
                  1. Apply on the AFR screw , Brake oil,or WD40 or Zorrick and let it soak for 15 minutes.
                  2. Now try and turn the AFR screw...if it still stuck repeat procedure 1.till you get it to turn.
                  3. GENTLY Turn the AFR screw fully CLOCKWISE till it stops.
                  4. Now turn the screw ANTI Clockwise by 3.5 full turns.
This is a starting setting. If you have hesitation in acceleration with cold engine till 1 or 2 Kms it is ok, but after warm up ,if you continue to have the hesitation as well as the engine turning off when accelerating, turn the AFR screw another HALF turn ANTI CLOCK WISE....this should give you near perfect setting..
Regarding the sudden loss of compression..I guess older members had a detailed discussion on the probabilities in earlier posts...my guess is either the valves are getting sticky or the de-compression mechanism in the Cam is getting stuck in enabled condition...I had invariably found this to happen only after riding the bike for some time and stopping, and then trying to start it...esp., on a hot engine...

Plugs were brown between 1.5 to 1.75 turns of air screw. FE dropped a 4km. But if you have no choice you can use it. Mine gone missing

It was bought by Arun a few weeks ago and it costed him Rs.85/- and it was readily available in stock.

Click to see pics of it.
Thanks for the replys; I got the full information.

I haven't tried to rotate the screw again. Will follow the method with WD40 oil. As a precautionary measure, trying to source the AFR screw in case of any malfunction of the current one.

                      • Aneesh@4GHz good to know about the spare shop stocking all parts of Karizma R & ZMR as its really a big problems for lots more owners to wait for spares . Will ask you for some parts if we can't get them in upcoming weeks & you can manage them . ( As the Karizma R to ZMR transition is on hold due to some parts aren't arrived yet in spare shop here )

Gunmetal bush is an effective and reliable mod as it has good load bearing and wear resistent properties.. . Congratulations on the mod between I never knew it was this cheap . I thought it will cost too much for gunmetal .

Well guys remember the short circuit problem I mentioned couple of weeks ago? Well it became too much of a mess now. The short circuit is coming from the console and caused by a wire going into the instrument panel. I gave the bike to SVC 2 days back and still they cant pinpoint the location of the fault. They are saying it is not the console and some coil has to be replaced no idea what it is, seems like my time is bad .
