Alright, thanks for the info. I'll try it plus other appsOriginally posted by acs1207 View PostIn the 'about' section , it reads
Speedometer
Version 3.0.0

(c) 2011 Kilut Oy
www.kilut.fi
edit- u can get it at the site add just above this line .
Not sure whether I got it from mobile9 or Ovi store though .
Once you start the app , it has to get a connection from GPS satellites and only then should you expect it to give a reading . This one has a feature where you can sent a log to an email id which when opened shows the route you have taken for that session . For that trip I got this...
The pink line is the route.
I guess it requires internet , but not hi-speed . I've got GPRS in my mob .

Trying to steal parts off police bikes James bond ?Originally posted by James View Post^ My new plan of action is to befriend one of these zma riding cops, present him with a bottle of daru and swap my zma's worn carb with his bike!

Your response is the same as what I would have done .. tried to get out of the way from the dumbo . But I think you were traveling too fast for that to work .. even the correct reflex needs time and distance to work and traveling too fast does not provide that . I am concerned for you because I see too many stupid people , rickshaws and bazaars on the street and quite a few bikers spill badly on the road , daily here . There is no other option than to slow down to deal with Calcutta, the city has it's own leisurely paceOriginally posted by sunny_ View PostYes, even if he was faulty (he was in my lane overtaking some biker before a blind turn and kept coming in towards my left and then tried to sway back in his lane) but I will curse myself only for not responding quick, don't know what has happened to me....(I used to judge every such moron on road real quick, I was so used to the Calcutta traffic and ppl walking and jumping on the road in front)...
.. Regarding Champion, I am already using it and so much difference in performance between the regular plug that comes in stock Karizma and the Champion one. I really need G-power now, after hearing good reviews from fellow and senior bikers here. But again, gotta have a day free to go there.
.
You can continue with the Champion plug , many say it's better than any other including NGK ...Last edited by Pinaki; 03-28-2012, 11:49 PM.

Come on ! How fast do you think they'll go even if it's a ZMAR they're riding ??? They don't need these bikes . Some 'big guy' thought this up to waste some money . I've never seen the Police RE 350 go above 60 kmph . Mostly they might end up piloting some (supposedly) VIPs .Originally posted by Pinaki View PostTrying to steal parts off police bikes James bond ?
Ah , also these bikes might come on the market after some years and the lucky ones can boast of having a 'Police Bike' ..!!sigpic

Yes, I was fast. Because in Salkia (Howrah) 30 kmph is too fast, its condition is worse than Calcutta. I feel sad because some bikers who dance on the road and drive recklessly can cause harm to others as well. Why the hell is it necessary for someone to insert his bike into smallest possible gap, can't he just stay behind a car!!???!! I hate the city commuters who irritate others by unnecessarily pressing horn and creating nuisance, changing lanes frequently...ultimately all move with the same rate of traffic flow!Originally posted by Pinaki View PostYour response is the same as what I would have done .. tried to get out of the way from the dumbo . Agreed never seen them hot-chase any criminal ever on motorcycles, they want bikes that look nice doing "outrider" duty for the VIPs . For that , few can beat the old red Enfields of Calcutta police in their white uniforms, fully outfitted with sirens and flash-rotor lights in front and long wireless antenna sticking out from behind the pillionOriginally posted by acs1207 View PostCome on ! . Or even the Military Police outrider Enfields, all olive-drab including rims spokes and engine block .

Yah , I completely feel for you and your throttle handOriginally posted by sunny_ View PostYes, I was fast. Because in Salkia (Howrah) 30 kmph is too fast, its condition is worse than Calcutta. , been riding in this city for last 25 years or so , but what to do .. since you can't change all the people , we have to change ourselves to the road conditions and slow down to 20 to survive .
Ok , then just call up Guddu'Jee at that number and ask him if he has the model number of the G-power you want . He's a very helpful and friendly guy , himself a biker .Last edited by Pinaki; 03-29-2012, 02:15 AM.

Go for Honda Dazzler mirrors, they look cooler and are a direct fit.Originally posted by shhbz View PostAh! Worst thing today in my locality around 15 bikes got naked

My chains also been overtightened a few times, but havent experienced anything like engine stalling after overheating.Originally posted by BOSS View Posthi.
i got a new karizma R done 4k. 2nd service done, the chain had been tightened more than required and this led my bike to over heat and the engine shut off. had too let it cool down for 20mins and then it started...Motorcycling Experience:

Karizma - till 2014?
Hi all Karizma lovers.
I read on the net, that after the split of Hero and Honda,
the license for Karizma with Hero will last till 2014.
Wanted to know for sure, as later this model could be discontinued,
and may face spare / service shortages, as I want to buy a Karizma-R,
for touring.
Thanks in advance for all the suggestion/advice.Last edited by raaz; 03-30-2012, 01:16 AM.

Spilled
Had an unexpected spill at the lowest speed possible. I was taking a right turn in my apartment's driveway when the front wheel slipped over some electrical wires and since i was wearing sandals today because of an ingrown toenail (instead of orazo) my right leg too slipped on the wire coil.
Result: Bike lay flat on the ground and i stumbled few steps until i almost hit a pillar. Luckily the cheap riding glove on the left hand took the entire impact. I recollected myself, stopped the still running bike and proceeded to office. Bike is alright and i don't have any injuries but upper left of my back and whole of the right leg are sprained.
It's funny that i negotiate that turn and the wires daily but i ran out of luck today. Will have to go home early to rest my leg.
