how much front fork pipe cost you ??my steed feel lack of stiffness at front shocks may be due to less oil it clocked around 38k km,no oil change till now.my zma return 34-35 kmpl in city and around 40-42 kmpl on highway when ride at 60-70kmph im runnig on NGK iridium plug
This gold colored silencer shield was the stock part for all Karizmas when launched in 2003. In the next version when they cut the price by 10000, they used chrome shield, which continues in all the models till now. I liked the gold color, and replaced the chrome shield when it got scratches due to a fall with this gold color shield. It was 900+ when I bought it. I do not know its still available.

Never replaced cam tensioner so far. This will be the first time if I do. May be I am lucky.

I feel the tensioner problem surfaces soon if you rip the bike all the time at peak rpms. I rarely take my bike to its limits in all gears. I generally cruise at 90-100 kmph, which is a comfortable zone. I don't like stressing the engine to its limits.

And it also looks real awkward, especially after the dust accumulation. Anyways will post a pic soon, cause I've taken apart every single piece of my fairing and double taped it, but unfortunately using the white one.
I am planning to apply double tape inside the panel so that its not visible out side. Black tape is sticky on one side only (never seen double tape in black color). I would appreciate, if you have any better idea.

Even when the engine is cold, bike is starting without any issue. Horn needs less power compared to engine start. So, I guess, its the issue with horn switch contact. Also, the horn is not that good and I need replacement. Could you please show me your tractor horn? I would consider it if its good and doesn't put too much load on the battery.

The battery I am using currently is Bosch 9amp MF battery. I guess it needs some recharging. Will do it soon.

Yeah that may be the case, and I also believe you weight below 70Kgs. I weigh 110Kgs and ride only in the power band, guess thats why mine got busted so soon.

You are referring to the single sided black tape, Im talking about the double sided black tape, which is made of a rubberized compound unlike the spongy material which the white ones made up of, and AFAIK the black ones lasts for YEARS!!! . Plumbers usually use it to seal leaks in tanks and all.

Even my bike used to start with a single press, the issue was isolated with the horn and surfaced while riding(If you go a few pages back you can see the original post.), but my issue went away on its own.
Will post the pics in 5 mins. And yeah the power ratings are similar.

I have been at 78-82 kgs for the last 5 years. Trying to reduce, but it will not happen.

Thanks for the picture. I am looking for spongy tape as it absorbs a bit of vibrations. When I was speaking to friend a little while back, he told me he had black double tape which he borrowed from my car.

          • ^^^I opted for them with the same idea in mind that you have now, thinking that the sponge will absorb the vibes, and it was true for a while. But after being in the sun and rain for a while they became a big headache, the problem with spongy ones are that after they loose their stickyness and get old they make squeeky noises. So choose wisely.

              [QUOTE]

sir after working on this my bike braking is still very weak now i believe it the brake pad definitely in bad shape so was thinking of getting the rtr disc pad as i don't have enough mny to spend on original pads as recenty ended up spending 4600 for insurance renew ,name change and a police case on which i was fine RS 700 for invalid insurance whereas the new insurance paper cost me less than that .

              - so which rtr model pads will be a direct fit
              - what to do for the rear brakes as few months earlier the mechanic here installed a local brake costing 150 In total for changing the rear brake but its brake is very bad.
              - my horn stopped working tday as it was running fine and than all of sudden it died , what to check
              - spark plus should i go for g power or irdium

sorry for worrying u with too many question but really need it to get solved as I am fearing driving with such unsatisfactory disc as even riding on 40-60 fears me.

I guess RTR pads doesn't have different models . There'd be just one model RTR pads , but maybe different companies make it .
                - what to do for the rear brakes as few months earlier the mechanic here installed a local brake costing 150 In total for changing the rear brake but its brake is very bad.
Rear braking isn't that great in ZMA .It ain't too bad either ...at times I curse it , but at times it locks up !!! Scraping the brake pads with AXXO BLADE might help . Also adjust the rear brake nut (the one on the brake rod ) to your satisfaction .
                - my horn stopped working tday as it was running fine and than all of sudden it died , what to check
Check the fuses underneath the seat .Replace if kaput .Check battery . If self start is OK then battery is OK . check horn by connecting it direct to the battery . If all these are OK then there's some wire loose contact or problem with the switch . Connect another horn or bulb to the connectors which connect to the horn to check it .
                - spark plus should i go for g power or irdium
Iridium is insanely costlier ! G Power is the better choice . If you still wanna go for Iridium , give me a G Power and I'll give you my Iridium plug ...!!
sorry for worrying u with too many question but really need it to get solved as I am fearing driving with such unsatisfactory disc as even riding on 40-60 fears me.
                Replies also in bold .
Never neglect those two items - horn and brakes . Those are preventive measures against harm to yourself and others . My motto from years back has been to use them as much as you use the bike's engine .
Hope you get the bike in full condition pretty soon .

yeah feeling the same as it dangerous to drive like this though the bike is controllable but its very risky

                  • 220 piston for ZMA

As some of you are aware I've been planning to up my ZMA's capacity by plonking a P220's piston . Well , the ground work's been done and now it's implementation time . A 2nd hand ZMA bore has been procured along with the piston and the lathe work for those parts has been done at Coimbatore by my mechanic.

Today I've delivered the bike to his workshop (23 km from my place) and he's promised me delivery within a week .
The Verniers Caliper he had was off by a mile and I got a steel scale and measured it . There's a slight disagreement as to the dia of the piston and he assured me it'll be cleared before the next step is taken .
Currently , mechanically I'm running everything stock , except plug which is Iridium .
                    CHANGES SO FAR :
The air filter is of ZEN MPFI (thanx to PSR for the idea ) the battery is 12V 9Ah , H/L bulb is 60/55W Halonix with relay, rear indicators are 10W instead of 20W , indi-relay is aftermarket , tail lights are 5/10 W each , pilot lamps are LED type , have discarded OE horn and put in 2 horns with relay .

Today my GPS tells me my top speed achieved is 112 kmph and I'm skeptical Hadn't checked the speedo while riding but it was mostly 80 - 100 I think . Haven't been ripping heavily to that extent - is what I thought - mainly since the helmet I took today didn't have a visor and even though I was wearing glasses , dust was affecting me . But also I was following an Alto which was going pretty fast ( ploughing the way for me ) .

                      • Well, believe it or not but I fell again, and at the same turn An uncle on a Pulsar coming in oncoming lane while approaching a blind curve hit me from front, I tried to steer away but he also went in the same direction and result was: right footpeg rest is also broken now , brake pedal bent to 180 degress, handlebar bent, and engine cowl damaged from right. Only I know how I rode 100 kms in 2 days with just using the front brake (Like Rossi!), in Calcutta's traffic in rush-hours!

Anyways, I bought a new handle bar today @ Rs 254, gotta replace with the old ones at the SVC (dont know when I am going to visit there)
And I enquired a lot for G Power plug, but they haven't got one in Wellington, although I visited 2 shops only as it was late evening. Anyone planning to buy it in Kolkata, please ping me.

he said that it comes in bundled all the three stuff orelse if i just change the handle lock than i will have to manage 2 different keys .

                              • acs sir,p220 block project looks intresting,
                                p220 bore*stroke=67.00*62.4
                                zma bore*stroke=65.5*66.2
as 67*66.2 combination shows 233cc but what are the other aspects should have to calculate that is
1-comp height of P220 and zma to count swept vol and comp ratio
2-piston pin bore of zma and p220
3- piston speed of both motors are same ~17.5m/s but is there is diffrence in skirt calculation of both engines(2 * (stroke / 1000) * Higher ratedspeed in rpm / 60) this could be later part to discuss depend upon realiblity issue
this is what i feel to discuss...
