  • I had take Ninja for a road trip end of last year. I was very impressed with the brakes they have provided. They are the best in my opinion.
When I heard N250R owners were using ZMA-R/ZMR pads, got inquisite to change the pads of Ninja's. So purchased and using it on my ZMA. The bike had not run even 50kms so I would not pre-maturely comment on the brake bite.

There is one other problem surfaced on my bike is that there is lot of ply while braking. Also noticed the hose tube shows some movement when brakes applied.

The Endurance mas cylinder should cost you around 700 or so. I paid Rs.686.56/- for it a year or so ago.
Regarding the RX, if she looks good and runs well, 35k would be a decent price!
        Cheers!
Am meeting my mech in a couple of weeks for some cyl/engine work . Will clean the master cyl then .

        • Karizma r 2011

The legend of indian bikes finnaly got under my hands on my birthday i e on 17/6/1989.i have booked it on may 25th and got the delivery from laxmi motors, hyd on 17th june.first time when i switch on the key it showed me the figures of fuel, time, odo, trip.when i started her the power of 225 cc passed into my hand and accelarated it to adrenaline rush.i cant control myself to rush more n more bcause every corner of the engine is asking me to go more. but i sticked to my basics to stay below 60 for first 5k kms. thereby went to nearby temple and done bikepooja and went to my house where my friends r waiting for me to come.
new Karizma R is powered by the 17 BHP 223cc single cylinder engine.Equipped with a larger capacity engine, the New Karizma R's mileage figures depend on how it is ridden. Under city conditions, the bike returned 37kpl and on the highway suprised with an 45kpl. Karizma R is a great bike with superb refinement and great handling. It is a highly capable of touring for hours at high speeds. The motor of Karizma R is smooth across all bands of power and never shows signs of tiring. i got a topspeed of 138 kmph on my one.
          Engine: 223cc, 4-Stroke
          Maximum Power: 17 Bhp @ 7000 rpm
          Maximum Torque: 18.35 Nm @ 6000 rpm
          proud to be a karizman.

If a karizma r and an r15v2 dragged who will be the winner. Because I sat behind my friends r15 v2 today and it did 110. My friend said he was in 4th gear( i did n believe though ). So still 2 more gears left . Any ideas guys??

well r15v2 will as it can reach 130 and many have reached 140 and pick up response is great in r15v2 but than again a lot depends on the rider too evn though r15v2 has a upper hand

ZMA's 5th gear is very long, and you can do 100+ in 4th gear.Tried and tested.

Seems like it is a tough competitor . Planning for a drag. Hope I could gain a couple of seconds in the 0-100 acceleration time but my bike tops out at 130 or so. The r15 tops at around 135- 145 range.

R15 is a high revving, short stroke,4 valve bike...so no point in comparing both..

                      • hello people..

I was doing routine maintenance on the front brakes when I saw that the brakepad spring was broken. Called up the dealer who told me that this blighter costs 1229/- and he does not have the part in stock. Is it possible that this could be replace by any other compatible part?
What do I intend to do? Stuff ZMR drivetrain into an Ambition chassis and watch others run scared!

                          Drag.
                          P220 vs ZMA = P220
                          RTR180 vs ZMA = RTR180
                          R15 vs ZMA = ZMA
And the ZMA can do close to a 100(dont remember the exact speed was 80~90Kmph) in 3rd gear i.e with me as rider and Aneesh as pillion.

The ZMA is'nt a racing bike or a dragging bike, its just a sports tourer, and a dated one too, so its better to leave it alone.

Zma's based on the CRF series bikes which saw the light in 2002 . Also remember that the CRF bikes were (mainly ?) off road bikes which needed more torque than power ( I hope my assumption is right) . It's not right to compare it with a bike which is a new-gen track-bred offshoot .

BTW my ZMAR might go shortstroke (oversquare) in a couple of weeks.
