Be real smooth on the acceleration. Only feather the throttle, dont ride like WROOM..WROOM........BANG!!!

Now notice your tacho and you'll see that at 3.75k the bike reaches 60Kmph and at 5k sharp you'll reach 80Kmph.

Is it OK ?? I heard that ZMA 2011 has some different settings of AFR than the Older ZMA. Does it give different performance ?

I dont know what is all about AFR..
Can anybody give a little details about AFR ?

AFR or Air Fuel Ratio, is the ratio in which the carb feeds air and fuel into the ICE, its always best to keep the bike at an optimum setting. The symptoms of un-optimum settings are,

Too Rich - Blueish smoke and decreased acceleration, but stability at higher speeds, and the spark plug fouls out sooner than expected.

Too Lean - White smoke and increased acceleration, but lack of stability at higher speeds i.e engine starts to splutter, the engine heats up and starts to deteriorate the internal parts as well, and may eventually result in a seizure.

              • @Psr sir,
Yesterday did a check on the tps and I believe its ok, the only thing I found out of place was it registering upto 5.x volts and the increment wasn't by .5 it was by 1.x,
And yesterday while riding founf out the exact reason why the bike was lacking feel, it wasn't casue of the tps malfunctioning, but because I only used to give a max of 1/4th thrrottle even for attaining high speeds and hence the tps didn't actually get initiated, so yesterday properly throttled the bike to wot and made sure the throttle position was at it max... And while doing that the bike climbed like anything that past the 110kmph mark I was scared enough to let the throttle go.

And sir another query tps at wot means advance and at idle means retard right??? So which makes the engine rich and which makes it lean???

                • Relieving from a crash while cornering on a poor-surface on Saturday. Very bad as the plan for Sunday to a water park, Aquatica, was cancelled the moment I crashed
                  Left foot peg broken!
When I went into the corner, I was okay but due to high beam of an oncoming vehicle my concentration was lowered and I couldn't make it well out-of the corner, and crashed. My fault! But many ppl driving/riding in city need lesson on high/low beam and how to use them.
Lesson learnt: Never try to corner on a dusty/poor/gravelled/not maintained surface if you're not comfortable, if your tires are not well, if you have any disturbances from traffic.
Small injuries to left arm and index finger of right hand, and bike waiting for the remedies!

                  • Sunny , road surface and street conditions traffic too bad now in kolkata to ride fast ... slow down and take corners real slow ... it's essential for survival in this city . I'm not doing above 50 in city , mostly in 30 and corners at 10-20 with lots of honking and keeping eye on RVMs . Sometimes 70-80 on the Eastern Metro bypass .. but that road also has too many potholes and broken uneven surface nows . Expect all other riders and drivers pedestrians traffic-cops to be dumb & stupid here, and only you to look out for yourself . Do be careful . God blessed you with minor lesson .Get well soon .

completely agree with what you wrote ! kolkata has now been a road of potholes and completely messed up road Guess what i ahve started remembering all potholes to avoid bump but i guess our government look into the issue while the police on the other hand is just on patrol catching all bikers and checking bike insurance and pollution certificate.

aaaahhhhh.... they have much better things to do

The chances of you falling might have been a touch on the rear brakes, anyways don't want to postmortem the incident which did not go well with you.

Riding with safety gears is must or atleast going in lower speed is advised during intersections, conering etc.

AFAIK TPS affect the timing and not the AFR .

Yup sir, but advance and retard timing can cause the engine to act rich/lean.

AFAIK, Controlling both the AFR as well as ignition timing can cause the engine to respond (accelerate, throttle response, cold start, etc.) better. Not clear on how the timing could have any effect on the mix though...

Thanks for your wishes. You're right, even the very important EM bypass is not maintained, it could be a well 8 lanes road.

No rear brakes were used, Sir. I think I accelerated more than required while moving out of the corner and going into the corner was also slightly inside-out then inside then leaned bike, then moved, then accelerated which lead me skid!
                                Thanks for your wishes.
