My bike has a strange issue. I feel it is not pulling. Earlier I used to do 60km/hr @ 4k RPM but now have go upto 5.5k RPM. Whatever way of riding it does not goes above 110km/hr.
Today it just died in the midst of traffic light after riding for around 10km at 70km/hr. Took rest for around 10 mins. and then pushed the thumb and my baby came to life!!!!!
I doubt its the airfilter. Can anybody suggest any remedy?

I don't think its a fake, the possibility of motomax products being duplicated are remote.Originally posted by AshMj View Posttoaday i brought motomax for 160rs/230grms from lamiington road...but i doubt its originality .Last edited by Drifty; 12-23-2011, 11:32 PM.

From what you have written it seems you have two problems..Originally posted by Blumarine005 View PostMy bike has a strange issue. I feel it is not pulling. Earlier I used to do 60km/hr @ 4k RPM but now have go upto 5.5k RPM. Whatever way of riding it does not goes above 110km/hr.

1. Normally ZMA shows 3,750 RPM for 60 Kmph,on 5th gear...if it is more and you feel it does not have good acceleration, then your clutch plates are Kaput.
2. Engine suddenly dying out may be due to CDI loose contact,or frozen valve, both of which are self healing... If you are caught with dead engine try starting with kick starter..if the kicker goes down without resistance, the you have frozen valve, which will go away after a few kicks,or waiting for 5 to 10 minutes..
If you have resistance while kicking then try to start without giving throttle. If bike starts and idle but cuts off while accelerating then it is a case of CDI connector loose contact. For CDI connector loose contact you can open the seat and shake the wires to the connector and bike will start and be normal...later on try spraying WD40 into the connector and refixing it.

. I bought a smaller pack of 60gm two months ago, the polish is pink in color and smells good too
.
And its easy to buff it, no need of too much work to make it shine but it will only last for maximum 1 week. Now I am using turtle wax which is 240 rs
.

Not sure if these are genuine issue's, but posting them anyways for reference sake.
Now while accelerating bike doesnt have the feel though the RPM rises, and sometimes the RPM keeps on rising but bike fails to accelerate beyond 5K, its like after 5k, the Tacho is simply rising even though theres evident engine sound. And there are increased vibrations(not the rash pulsar type, its the enfield type.) too, and the vibrations increase with acceleration. Especially near the footpegs and sari guard.
In short, bike feels as if theres something loose inside the engine, which is causing the vibes and performance issues. Engine knocking has become evident, though not the hard pistoning sound, just the mild well lubricated thump.
I suspect either one of the below options.
1. Engine has become perfectly run in, thus loosing the tight packed engine feel.
2. Something's wrong.Motorcycling Experience:

Hi Ashwin,Originally posted by MAXzma View PostYou have to remove the two star screws in the top of the fairing which is near the fuel tank. Then look under the fairing you will be able to find two bolts on either side. It will be easier to unscrew these if you have a box spanner. The regular spanner will do the job but requires more effort. Then you will have to pull a bit on the sides of the fairing to release them. There is one universal connector which is used to supply power to the headlight, pilot lamp and indicators which you will have to remove to remove the fairing completely. Or else it ll be like the fairing is chained and you will have limited access.
The pilot lamps can be removed easily and changed. No problems. Now the headlight requires some effort. First remove the power cord to it. Then remove the rubber cap covering the headlight. There will be a thick metal wire kinda thingy which is used to hold the headlight firmly. There will be a screw holding it in place. This is the most trickiest part! Even after changing the headlight some 4-5 times I get stuck here everytime. You will have to remove this to access the headlight. Then repeat all the steps in reverse.
Or best option would be to pay your mech some 30 bucks and watch him do it closely. Then from next time onwards you can do it on your own.
you said the pilot lamps can be changed easily
I removed the fairing, removed the light assembly too, but couldn't figure out a way to replace the pilot lamps
I tried to pry open the light assembly but thought that's not the way...I need to fit it again by this evening and so the urgency
any help appreciated~ long roads winding through dense forests are what I seek..Solitude ~

You dont have to remove the headlight assembly, just remove the front fairing along with the headlight and pull the pilot bulb rubber thing, the thing that we can see from outside, pull it gently.Originally posted by rav View PostHi Ashwin,
