First update your location, so that others know where you are from. Normal cable will do the job. Split cable, Iridium spark plug etc I have not tried nor preached. I share what I have experienced.Originally posted by swastik.basu View PostRX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Changed complete clutch assembly, 2000 rupees + Labor charges 200. The clutch bell had about 0.5 cm play and its because of the bad clutch bell rubbers. Seems Hero doesn't sell bell rubbers as a spare for Karizma. Had it fit Shine's bell rubbers with lathe machine.
The bike's gear shifts have improved tremendously and bike is responding more now.

Pirelli has 100/90-18 M/C TL 56H SPORTD F for the front, no other options in the 18'' range. Will have to check out what other manufacturers have .Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View Post100/90-18 is overkill,it will rub the front fender, max go for 3.0 * 18, ie 90/90-18 if you want an upsize.

Karizma R Disc Problem
Hi,
I had been using Karizma R from 4.5yrs.
I am facing a problem with the Disc.
The disc was jamming the wheel and I took it to the local mechanic and leaked the oil and said it will be okay.
the problem started again after 5 km and so I took it to another mechanic and he did the same.
Today morning I took my bike to a showroom and they said that there is a bend in the disc and they have to replace it. of course i didn't believe him at first and took it to another showroom.
the next showroom guy said there might be problem with the disc pads and idiot asked me to go tomorrow.
So, while coming back home, I again showed it to another mechanic and he again leaked the oil completely and said that the disc and the pads are just fine and there is problem with the liver in pumping the oil to the disc. he even showed that wheel was absolutely free and told me that he has to change some part in the liver that connects the liver and disc oil holder. He advised me to go tomorrow.
There is one more problem with the engine after servicing... There is some vibration in the engine when i am in 1st and 2nd gear.
Can anyone please suggest me the next step for solving the problem?
Waiting eagerly and Thanks in Advance.Last edited by Anush Makam; 09-04-2012, 05:21 PM.

Hi Aneesh, is it confirmed that 90/90-18 will fit without any issues? I have decided to go for Zapper Q
90/90-18 - Front
110/90-18 -Rear

Do you mean to say the mech "Drained" the oil???yeah quite likely the problem with the major kit(pump). While getting it repaired, get the caliper overhauled as well. The pump costs around Rs.1000/- IIRC.Originally posted by Anush Makam View PostSo, while coming back home, I again showed it to another mechanic and he again leaked the oil completely and said that the disc and the pads are just fine and there is problem with the liver in pumping the oil to the disc. he even showed that wheel was absolutely free and told me that he has to change some part in the liver that connects the liver and disc oil holder. Zapper 3.0-18 fits perfectly for the front, currently using it(Zapper C). Anything more, it will rub against the fender.Originally posted by ryan.virgo View PostHi Aneesh, is it confirmed that 90/90-18 will fit without any issues? I have decided to go for Zapper Q

Long term review of Castrol Activ 4t 20W40. Bike has run around 1100kms on this oil. Initial pickup during the mornings feels sluggish(as if the bike is going into reserve) even after a warmup on 1 min. Also the hardness of the gearshift is back. Mileage has also reduced a bit.Originally posted by shirish View PostChanged the engine oil to Castrol Activ 4t 20W40. bike ran around 90 kms post the oil change. Didnt find any major difference compared to the oil used by the ASC, just that the gear shift has become a little bit smooth and initial pickup reduced a bit. Need to see how it behaves in the long run in terms of mileage and initial pickup.
Bought a can of Motul 20W40. Planning to use the current one for another 500-700 kms and then change it to motul
@Aneesh and others: what is the price of the PSD 110. Planning to change the rear in coming months.Last edited by shirish; 09-05-2012, 05:34 PM.karizmatic

No, the rear tyre of Splendor 3.00-18. Had a spare tyre in the house. So thought of experimenting, liked it, so still have it on.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostWas that of ZMR's?
P.S: ZMR has 2.75-18 IIRC for the front.

110/90 / 4.00 are oversize for the Rear.
Compared to stock, the oversize tyres will give you more road contact, conrnering confidence and offcourse 'look' but the acceleration to reach top speed might be affected a bit if watched closely. Atleast, this is what I've experienced with my M45 - size 4.00x18 (oversize). I took this M45 to sacrifice some top speed and to benefit excellent road grip even through wet conditions.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

90/90 will become too big for Karizma. 90mm is bigger than even 3.00x18. This will affect the steering and the cone set in long. Also, front feels heavier to turn.

I took the reference from website, it had 2.75-3.00 for 90/90. I apologize for incorrect information if that is not true.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View Post90/90 will become too big for Karizma. 90mm is bigger than even 3.00x18.
