Even now, one of the best good looking bike in Indian market. Even after 5 years of hardcore touring including Ladakh ride, still runs like a charm till 125kmph. Being an owner of fz25 also I must say Karizma still rocks😎

Lucky you. Mine never used to cross 110. Moving from 90 is freaking tough on karizma.
Not sure if mine had any issues. Also the carb screws got Stuck and all threading was gone, so no option to tune either.
Its a good machine, but don’t think it’s worth holding now.

I have an attachment with my karizma, I sold her when I bought fz25 in April this year but after 15 days got her back. Now I am first as well as 3rd owner😃. Regarding carb screw, I use to spray wd40 in every 2 months so it never got stuck.
Now I use zma rarely for tours but I maintain her well.

I am never letting mine go.
It still fulfills my touring and city ride requirements.

Oh yeah i too agree it is still a good looking bike. The design and styling never feels outdated. Lucky you, it still runs like charm. Mine has taken a bit of beating on the hills of Nainital. Plus no good mechanics around here to bring it back to its glory. From being butter smooth in Bangalore to gruffy old man here in this cold. But i ain't giving up so easily. Will get it back to its pristine form albeit a little slowly (cant spend too much on her). Between i too have the white colour steed with me. Only things not stock are the rvm's which have given way to Rtr ones and a red painted rear wheel.

                      Hi All,

                      I just completed a 7 days, 2300 km ride from Pune-Vadodra-Mt. Abu-Udaipur-Chittorgargh-Shirdi-Pune on my 2013 Karizma-R (My #TouringMachine).
Along with me was a friend on his new RE Himalayan.

The bike cruised comfortably at 90-110 all day long with minimum vibrations and without any issues. 100 - 120 kmph is a respectable speed on Indian highways and anything over that will take you closer to god. I also rode from Udaipur to Kumbalgargh 90 km (one side) and back which is close to off-road.

Besides the regular tyre pressure checkup, oiling of the chain, engine oil level check, and filling of petrol, no other task was carried out.
The simplicity of this bike with few touring specific modifications makes this bike a great choice for touring.

It does not grab any attention when compared to RE's and KTM"s. That also means you are left alone of intrusive questions.

If maintained with patience, this bike will have you smiling on every ride.

Below are the modifications that I have done the bike.

                      1. Creed LED 10w x2 auxiliary lights. These really help to carry good speed at night times.
                      2. The front disc lines have changed from stock rubber to steel braided ones borrowed from Pulsar 220. Has improved braking marginally.
                      3. Front fork oil is Motul Heavy 20w. The bikes doesn't dip as much on hard breaking. As a result, hitting a bump during panic breaking is now much comfortable.
Also, the impact of potholes is less felt on the handlebar.

                      4. Engine oil is Motul 5100 10w30 semi synthetic: Keeps the engine and gear shifts butter smooth.
                      5. Have got MRF Messeter Tubeless at Front and Rear. The valve holes on the rims had to be filled to accommodate the bigger tubeless valve. Grip in wet conditions has increased.
                      6. All the fiber panels now have rubber washers created from a piece of tyre-tube and placed between the screw and the mounting. Negligible rattle but requires periodic observation and tightening of the screws.
                      7. A custom-made saddle bag stay. This helps the Vaittera Claw bag to be placed away from the rear fiber cowls. Also, the bag now does not dip on either side due to unbalanced weight. Moreover, a 4 point bungee cord does the work instead of Vaittera Claw's time consuming 3 point mounting system that also required constant attention.
                      8. I use Ride On Air cushion above the stock seat. Does help you to cover more miles before a need to take a butt break.

I am eager to carry out below few mods:-

                      1. Fixing a touring windshield or a windshield extender. The wind blast on the highways causes immense fatigue.
                      2. Disc brake on the rear wheel. A costly mod but will be a lifesaver on highways. As of now, I have to depend on the engine breaking which does cost some of the chain-sprocket wear and tear.

My bike has done 35,000 km.

Do check the clutch cable and the way it is installed. It might be getting cramped up because of handle movement if is not correctly installed.

Anyhow my problem got resolved and the ASC guys says there is wire coming from the key set was damaged(short) and this was causing the issue. After changing the wire and starter relay it looks perfect now but still i am having some fear to reach 3 digit speed:-) thinking that the fuse may blow off again
