I recently saw one of your old post on your bike's starting issue, that the clicking sound is there, neutral light dims a bit, but bike won't start.
I have a similar problem now on my ZMA 2012. It takes 3-4 tries most of the times to start the bike with self-starter. Symptoms as mentioned above.
I went to an auto electrical shop today, he checked the battery (it is an Exide MF battery) and said the battery health is okay. Then he checked for power in the starter using a tester kinda stuff, and it showed that power doesn't reach starter even though the clicking is there.
He said the relay is the culprit, but I couldn't find the relay in the nearby Hero ASC. And, I doubt if it could be due to some water/fungus in the relay connectors due to the rainy weather?
Can you please let me know how your issue was resolved ?

Change starter relay. It is not currently available at the spare parts shop here. But they told me the cost will be around 300 or so.Originally posted by SatSon View Postacs1207

Alternatively the contacts might have loosened. Check it anyway.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
One thing that my bike munches on is the starter relay. It have replaced 5 of them so far. And no, they don't stop working all the time, somehow they crack at the base and hence develop loose connections.Originally posted by SatSon View PostI recently saw one of your old post on your bike's starting issue, that the clicking sound is there, neutral light dims a bit, but bike won't start.

You can fit a Unicorn relay and ride in peace. Just ensure that it has a 15-20A fuse in it.
Else, clean the terminals of your existing relay, remove all white oxide, replace the fuse with a new one and see. At max you'd have an extra fuse for the future.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Do what you will do in any other bikeOriginally posted by IntoOblivion View PostHi guys, I've got one small doubt. When the fuel gauge indicates last bar and starts blinking, does that indicate the fuel is in reserve or do I need to wait till it stops and turn the fuel cock to reserve mode?
Wait for the bike to show symptoms of hitting reserve, then turn fuel knob to reserve.
You can ride for around 40 kms at least with the fuel bar blinking, before the bike hits reserve.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Hi guys,
Recently bought a Karizma R 2011 model (3 days ago) for a decent price and I'm very happy with the engine, but the previous owner has taken less care of the bike as a whole.
There's a wealth of information out here on the Karizma and I'm thankful but have a few questions:
1. The Choke lever and assembly (on LHS) is missing, which is causing a lot of issues while using kick/starter in mornings. Is this missing choke normal? What parts would be needed to fix a choke?
2. There are two electrode-like wires on LHS and RHS switch boxes. Right now, they're just dangling and not connected to the pin points. What are these? (When I plug it in, the Neutral bulb is forever on
) No clue what the RHS one does.
3. What would be the best direct-fit headlamp that will be better than current stock ones? (some discussions earlier are old. Need something brighter than 35W and should be available in 2017)
4. Only LHS fork is spilling some oil from the top. What could be wrong? Any remedies?
Attaching a photo to illustrate these points.
The ride is very nice and there is no discomfort on the engine, revs and suspension. Any help is highly appreciated. I live in Himachal and do not like being on a subpar bike on these roads.
Thank you!Last edited by highwayhermit; 07-13-2017, 03:40 PM.

Welcome to ZMA club. It would be nice if you can post some more details about the bike like kms done, any modifications and a couple of pics.Originally posted by highwayhermit View PostHi guys,

The choke lever can't be missed so easily. You would need to buy a new switch assembly and choke cable. Will cost you approx. Rs. 500 for the parts.
2. There are two electrode-like wires on LHS and RHS switch boxes. Right now, they're just dangling and not connected to the pin points. What are these? (When I plug it in, the Neutral bulb is forever on

The wire on the LHS is of the clutch switch and on the RHS of the brake switch. And, on the neutral light being on when you plug the RHS wire - it could be due to busted clutch diode. Use Google for more info on clutch diode.
3. What would be the best direct-fit headlamp that will be better than current stock ones? (some discussions earlier are old. Need something brighter than 35W and should be available in 2017)
The easy and direct upgrade will be fitting a 55W H4 halogen bulb, which are easily available in car spare shops (I haven't tried this yet though).
4. Only LHS fork is spilling some oil from the top. What could be wrong? Any remedies?
Change oil and oil seals of both forks.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Thanks for clarifying, SatSon. The bike has done around 24K kms and it was love at first ride with the engine, after years of riding Pulsars.Originally posted by SatSon View PostWelcome to ZMA club. Please put on the engine cowl. It looks weak without it. Happy riding.Originally posted by highwayhermit View PostThanks for clarifying, SatSon. The bike has done around 24K kms and it was love at first ride with the engine, after years of riding Pulsars.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
I don't have the engine cowl with me. I think it was removed and lost by the previous owner. Besides aesthetic value, does the cowl do anything functional? Also heard that in the mountains, the cowl creates imbalance in cross-wind (which is a lot here). Please clarify. Thanks!Originally posted by kety213 View PostPlease put on the engine cowl.
