Today im going to hmc ss, whr i will confirm exact which type of bulb it is, if its h7 as u say thats great, but is there any difference in high and low beam bulbs or both are same but reflectors are made differently?. Also uphrading to 55w in both high and low beam will work fine? I mean my battery is 6ah 12v as per manual.

I've run with 115W on stock wiring, horn would stop working if I ride for long under 5k rpm.

As for P220, yeah same type of bulb for low and high. 55W H7, SVC sells some local brand, don't remember the exact brand.

I made this mistake of recommending H7 bulbs to a friend, which ended up being donated.
        Newer Karizmas (v2, 2014) use H8 bulbs.

You can fit a 55w (lo) + 60w (hi) setup. Just ensure you use a relay.

I own a classic ZMR brother and I run on Cyclops LEDs (H4).

Ur zmr have single and big reflector thats really good unlike new version with 2 small reflectors. Can u post any pic of headlights working at night with h4 led, and are you sure that i can run with both low n high beam on with upgraded bulbs.

Well ZMR reflectors aren't good. Too many cuts and creases. I use a 20 watt (lo), 40 watt (hi) Cyclops LED I bought from USA.

And regarding your query on using both bulbs at once,

Karizma's alternator generates 238 watts at 5000 revs.

                  Now your headlights are 35 + 35 = 70 watts .
                  Indicators are 10*4 = 40 watts.
                  Pilot lamps are 10*2 = 20 watts.

                  With this 55/60, upgrade your headlights would become 55 + 60 = 115 watts. A difference of 45 watts.
You can compensate that by using LED indicators of 3 watts each. That would save you 40 - (3*4) = 28 watts and LED pilot lamps of 2 watts each, saving you 20 - (2*2) = 16 watts. Total saving 28 + 16 = 44 watts. Thereby compensating all extra load.

Just ensure that you use a headlamp relay.

                  Meanwhile, my headlamp pics.

Wow, ur headlight are still better than what i have.
And as u said about pilot lam, i have only 2 led eyebrows which i believe should be less that 2 watts each, and i have already added ktm duke led indicators instead of original one. Im looking forward to upgrade my halogon to 55w, will post soon once get it done.
Its a hit or miss situation for me, but lets hope for the best.
Thanks for the info. Appreciate ur feedback.

Just an update. I had installed Philips Xtreme vision with a 9ah battery back in 2012, but no relay / new wiring. The battery gave out earlier this year, so had installed new battery (Amaron maintenance-free 9ah again). Now looks like its the time for the xtreme vision bulb. The filament gives just a dull glow in low beam with some flickering, and no light in high beam, and a blown fuse. [ Though other electricals such as indicators / horn etc too start acting up once the headlight is switched on, so maybe its something to do with wiring ]. So need to get both the wiring + bulb checked soon.

The above posts are derived from aggregation of opinions of several xBhp ZMA riders, based on personal experience/common sense. Please be advised that some things might differ from manufacturer's recommendations.

I used a 55/60 H4 Bulb and while riding through poorly lit areas I'd stick the beam switch in between the low/high beam postion as a result of which both beams would be on at the same time, not a permanent fix, but got the job done at times.

HL upgrade without wiring upgrade is always a risk. We can assume that oe wiring has a tolerance of x%. The HL will use that additional load but the wiring will be running at the extreme level. I suspect your switch will give up before the wires. Try wd40 on the switch. Also use a relay.
Since other electricals are playing up on low beam I suspect a short circuit.
