    Custom exhaust for my zma?
    it should increase sound
but should not harm my engine
and should not effect my average
    as i commute 100kms daily.

Sadly nothing that's reliable. If you want a little more intake growl, you may choose to remove the air filter snorkel. Don't alter anything else.

Is it a good option of having an oil cooler kit in ZMA-R?

Was exploring a naked ZMR today in service center.

From whatever I could observe, the ZMR oil cooler kit looks like a fit in ZMA-R.

        I could see that :

[1] The ZMA-R RH clutch assembly case has to be replaced with the ZMR's RH clutch assembly case.
[2] ZMA-R kicker lever has to be removed.
[3] Some slight modifications to mount the oil cooler kit.

I ride close to 50 kms per day. For the same distance, my ZMA-R gets heated up more than my Pulsar-220.

I was wondering if having an oil cooler kit from ZMR installed in my ZMA-R could be of value.

Please provide your suggestions on this.

Hi there i have installed the oil cooler on my 05 karizma with above modifications , i could say the heat has reduced by 20%

I have been riding my ZMA from last 7 years and I have never felt heat unbearable or engine getting hotter than it should be,even after riding 550 kms in one day in hot conditions. If you think your feeling excess heat, you should diagnose if any engine issue is reason for it.ZMR has oil cooler only because it has full fairing which reduces cooling of engine by direct flow over fins.If still feel heat and have added an oil cooler its good, but please remember you are adding a vulnearble component in the system and failure of it could leave you stranded or in worst case an engine seizure.

I do agree the crf 230 engine which is detuned and put in karizma have been air cooled and performed well in extreme conditions but it was a personal project to cool down the engine better because of a similar over heating experience on a 550 km a day ride . i do agree it must have been the mineral oil which caused it, after running fully synthetic and mineral grade yielding no better results i have switched to oil cooler and semi synthetic now.

              Hi guys,

Serviced my 2011 ZMA this evening and these main works were done:
              1. Engine oil change ---> From whatever to Shell Advance AX7 10W40
              2. LHS Fork slight bend detected and oil leaking -->> Rectified bend, changed both oil seals and fork oil topped with Veedol x 2 165ml bottles (this one)

Bike feels alright, engine feels happy. But have a few questions for you experienced folks:
              1. Mechanic used 1.2L of Shell oil after drain. What's the correct capacity for engine oil on a ZMA?
              2. Front suspension has become pretty stiff. It's jarring on Himalayan roads where potholes appear out of nowhere. Is one bottle in each fork, overkill? Should I drain some out or does it get better after time?
              3. I'll be off riding to Spiti soon. Choke lever is unavailable everywhere here. Any tips on cold starting the bike in mornings (currently, I spend around 8 mins kick-starting the bike, gently) Does anyone here own a one kickstart ZMA?

Tomorrow, I'll also try and fix the front fairing with enough doubletape and araldite. Hopefully it'll stop the rattling. Will replace this at a later date.

Please help with any positive thoughts you may have on the above. Thank you.

                .
                1) as far as i know, its 900 ml engine oil. 1.2 litres required only when engine is overhauled.
                2. Not sure about it. I wish i had a little stiffer front suspension. Mine's too soft for my liking.
                3. Good luck with the choke cable. Even my bike needs about 5-6 kicks before it starts. I live in Nainital, so cold starts are obvious. You might wanna get your bike's afr adjusted accordingly. Like my mechanic and friends advised half turn more of the afr screw for cold starts. And thinner grade oil also would help. Many mechanics here suggested to go with 10w30 grade oil. Infact it helps and Karizma likes this grade oil from Mobil 1 in the hills.
Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

I have tried with 900ml, but I felt it to be bit less as seen in dipstick. Place the bike on centre stand (on a flat ground), start the bike and idle for 2-3 minutes. Check the oil level afterwards. It should be between min & max markings on the dipstick.

Does switch gear of Xtreme/CBZ fit in ZMA, I think those would be available. You may take the bike to ASC and check with them.
