  • Hello Guys, i had my 2nd service today and i've ran into a little problem. They are saying that my disc pads are worn out at only 2900 KM's. I dont understand how fast they have worn out??? they are stating at the SVC that mud and dirt caused the pads to wear out so quickly. they showed me the caliper and only the left side (inner side of the dis) has worn out and the other side is "ok".

Also, they said that the Nissin pads are 1020 RS for the karizma R (original of course) when i asked for the price. Im thinking if the pads wear out this fast then the apache ones are better to be used???? How much for the apache ones and which model should i ask them? any help would be appreciated.. thnx.

2900 kms is too less for a disk pad be it nissan or any other company- chck if there is any problem with the disk as well. RTR pads costs 350rs and fit directly - no mods - I have been using it for more than 7k kms and no issues so far, first 500 kms braking is not great as the pads are new and after that it is as good as the nissan ones.

Thats what i dont seem to understand. i think they were changed out at the showroom when i had put the bike for accident. Not sure.... this sucks... They said the disc is fine, just that the pads are worn out. and when i ride the bike, the front disk is making a "soor sooor soor" type of noise. the faster i go, the faster the noise lol...

EDIT: i cant find the complaint email address, im thinking of complaining that this is rubbish, i dont think the pads should wear out this fast and im on the HH website but i cant find the email address to send Complains.

EDIT 2: Found and sent complaint.

which model of rtr pads we should ask for? i.e RTR160, 180 or old 150?

                • The normal RTR, not the earlier 150 one
What do I intend to do? Stuff ZMR drivetrain into an Ambition chassis and watch others run scared!

                  • At what Normal KM interval one should change disc pads?

my Front disc fluid has diminished to half and bike has covered 7000 km. braking is fine till date.

                    • Generally, with average braking, pads would last around 10k kms. If the bike is ridden most of the time in city where heavy braking involved, they may even worn out even before 10 kms. If you are riding on highway considerable amount of time, they may last 15 k too. I changed at 15k interval.

I am sure, karizma's pads being expensive, the service guys might have swapped. Go to the service station, speak to manager and threaten them that you are going to complain to officials in Delhi. Specifically ask them, what are the conditions that lead to wear out of pads for just 2900 kms.
