i replaced my disk at last 1000 KM...yeah i forgot dat , i ll check the oil level 2day only...hope the rain stops 2day so dat i can go...Originally posted by Coplay@180 View PostMaybe they did not check ur Disc Pads properly.
When did u last replace ur disc pads? Check the oil level near ur brake lever.
Ask them to do brake bleeding if necessary. This is all I can think of.
However, if stoppies are ur intention, I would suggest you stick to ur so called Drum Brake Setup
bTw wht is BRAKE BLEEDING ..?
yeah i felt the same feeling whn they said everything is rite...yeah will check ol nd pads too lets see wherez d probs...Originally posted by Jithu View Postit will be the Disc pads.. ZMA-R update
Hello Friends, Thought of a little update...or upgrade update.
During the last 3 months, did the following upgrades
- Michelin M45s both front and rear
- Nightbreaker bulb
- Givi rear top box (still on my desk - not fitted yet)
Michelins: The best thing to have happ to my ZMA-R (just crossed 7000kms after 1.5years of ownership bcos i mostly ride my bicycle for commuting) as the grip is awesome. Last sat i rode 70-80kms on the highway and city roads in pouring rain. The roads were smooth and wet (recipe for a slide)..but the bike felt confident as though on dry. The MRF Zappers that i had used to give me jitters and broke traction many times(esp starting from 0kmph/rest...from a traffic light for eg). So..if you are thinking abt michlins...just head for the nearest michelin dealer...dont think at all....
Nightbreaker: Havent ridden so extensively at night these days..but i ve noticed that the glare from it is high. The other road users (stupids on high beams) tend to flash their beams at me..signalling submission? whatever, we tend not to notice good things (we are indians) and crib only abt the bad ones (dont we?)
Givi top box with mounting rack: bought for rs1600 in chennai...had a doubt whether it is original, but the mrkg literacture, the fitting guide book and the display rack all looked too original (made in malaysia) leaeding me to accept it as original. Still i dont understand why i paid nearly 20,000rs for my last givi hard bags for my suzuki vstrom in 2006. whatever...i ll update this later once i fit it on my bike. (if you are in chennai, the only other givi bag on display...is actually faulty (locks dont work), so wait for fresh stock or models)

a couple of days back i tuned by carb and today while riding the bike just stopped and was not starting. when i checked, i found the MIXTURE screw on carb is not there. after several tries i managed to start the bike but since the mixture was getting very rich i could note the engine heating up.
after searching for AFR screw from about 2-3 workshop, it took me 2 hours to get a new screw[88 INR].
after installing new screw i could feel smoothness and the idling is much stable, earlier the idle rpm used to fluctuate very much. hope this new screw will also reduce my cold start problem as HH svc mechanic set the tuning very nicely.
ALL PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHILE TUNING AS IF YOU LOOSE THE SCREW TOO MUCH IT CAN BE LOST AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND A NEW ONE."Biking is Divine"

You got it bang on man.I am facing the same issue too. Will have to remove the front fairing to check the wiring.Originally posted by Coplay@180 View PostWell dude. If ur Rear sprocket is bigger (more teeth) you will get better initial acceleration because ur gearing would have become taller. This however will take a toll on ur top end by around 5kmph.
Similarly, if ur rear sprocket is smaller, you will get less pickup and a higher top-end ( maybe 5kmph more) because ur gearing is shorter.
Edit: somebody correct me if I have mixed up the combinations.
for more info, refer the thread called Sprocketing or The world of Sprocketing on Xbhp.
I have faced this issue, check the wiring under/near ur ignition lock for some loose connection. I used to face this issue when I turned my handlebar to the right. The console and ignition used to get off.. I seriously feel thats the culprit in ur case. Also check the fuse box under ur seat for the ignition/display [It is fine dude.] (this is highly unlikely
).
Lemme know,.Last edited by d@rk nemesis; 09-04-2010, 03:21 PM.

Oil - have it changed once every 2k kms or at the max 2.5 kms and I have tried a lot of brands and none of them are as smooth as the herohonda oil.

HH Oil lasts good for around 2-2.5k kms...after that the gear-shifting n all becomes hard...! So, better get it changed during that period.Originally posted by krUnIzZlE View PostShould I get the oil changed? and if so, should i get the company oil (HH Brand) or can i change the oil? i was thinking of Castrol Power 1 Racing?
Oil changing frequency depends on the kind of oil one uses i.eOriginally posted by anmol_1990 View Postoil should be changed every 2000 km irrespective of what brand is used.
1) Normal HH/mineral oil - every 2-2.5k kms
2) semi-synthetic oil - every 2.5-3.5K kms
3) fully-synthetic oil - every 4-5k kms

Why buy it from outside when svc itself sells it for Rs. 150 /-.Originally posted by samarth14feb View PostAny body Tried fixing a fuel tap lock ? i always feel insecure filling full tank fuel cos it may get stolen! never experienced but seen many of my friends whose fuel lines were cut and fuel stolen! You may have to pay a little extra for fitting it.
Just go n visit nearby svc.
I haven't fitted one cause I like my baby just the way it rolled out from factory.

ZMA start problem
I am facing this issue from the start when I had bought the bike. If the bike is idle for more than 3-4 hours after riding it , the next time i try self start I need to use the choke for 1 min before the bike warms up and comes to proper idling. The idling RPM is near 1.1k or 1.2k.
Is this problem common to ZMA's or do I need to adjust the rpm or check the spark plug.
My bike has run about 4000kms now.
