Ok, after so many years not sure how much and kms approx 30k the time had come to change the chain sprocket set.

Past few months the chain needed to b adjusted in short intervals. After inspecting the sprocket can't find any issue as it was good enough to be used more. Only problem was in free wheel spin it felt like jammed.

But the sound it made was unpleasant so decided to change it.

By looking at the sprocket, it didn't seem to be worn out. The sprocket still had some life left. The chain was the reason i decided to change it, because after covering so many kms the chain had got stretched. Which i realised when the new chain was installed.

You can google for the worn out sprocket pic and compare them with the new one's... you can see the difference.

            1. Frequent chain adjustments.
            2. Khat khat sounds keep emanating continuously.
            3. Reduced acceleration and a dip in high speed performance.
            4. Reduced F.E (to some extent).

Hi, After my last service of the bike, the svc guys are telling me that the chain and the sprocket are due for changing. And is causing the bike to jump while shifting gear even when the clutch is not released. It does make a khat-khat sound holding the clutch. The tyre is not free moving when I try rotating in neutral. Is this a possible reason that the chain and sprocket are in need for change? If so, how much will it cost for a new set?

Also, I can see that you are using a 120/80 rear tyre for your Karizma..

Could you please tell which tyre are you using. Is it tubeless tyre? My ZMA is also up for changing the tyres.

Yes bro your chain is due for a change. That free rotation in neutral if not happening then its time to change. I was facing the same problem. The new set cost me 980/- here in Mumbai (almost same price when i changed it last time).

Now for the tyre its Ceat zoom 120/80 TL. Its been six months now m using this tyre and very happy with the performance. I don't do hard cornering on it but its way better than the stock MRF.

Regarding headlight bulb upgrade to 60/55

One of the first things I did when I bought my zmar 2nd hand was swapping the battery between it and my p180.( the p180 already had a starter complaint).
Some time later I didnt like the light spread of the headlight and decided to upgrade. Research and calculation led me to believe I can plonk in a 60/55w h/l bulb instead of the 35/35w oe one. I also learned that using a relay would be better....so that the oe wiring may be safe.
So I bought a relay with wiring kit and used my old m800's h/l bulb and it sure lit up the streets. Sometime later I upgraded to Philips xtreme.
Until a few weeks back all was fine. Then the low beam started playing truant....and then the hi too joined in. It/either would go off at the most inconvenient moment. Since I was home only on Sundays I could do little. Then one Sunday I took time off to check the wiring. The bulb was ok, so was the switch. I could hear the relay click faintly when I switched the h/l on and changed tween hi and lo. Means the output from the relay should be the culprit.
With no automobile wire with me I just bypassed the relay- took the oe holder and used it on the bulb. I changed the bulb to the (now 20 yrs old &#128512 m800 one - thinking if the light intensity goes down then it is better to have a yellowish tunt than a whitish tint.
It turned out as I expected but the only thing was I had misjudged the degree . Now the light spread has me in tears. I just cant ride like this. I am going back to the relay connection asap.

Those using a 9 ah battery and 60/55w h/l bulb without relay... this is an appeal to you guys. Try out the relay and see the difference. Just make sure your battery is ok.

Oh my. I am running on stock battery with a 60/55 setup without relay. The bulb is from our Alto K10. Decent spread and illumination. Haven't faced any issues in two years. Your post is getting me anxious now.

Hi guys, what are the symptoms of worn out swingarm bushes in zma?gear. my last tour whiIh included 30kms of severe offroading I am hearing chrr chrr sound from swing arm. Whenever I tight swing arm bolt this sound dissappear but comes again in few days.

Also bike seems to sway little bit just like a drunken man on uneven road but rock solid on plain roads.

feeling immense vibrations in rear part of bike.

Sound of "khat" comes after acceleration from standstill in first gear. Feels like two metal part is slipping.
Is due to misaligned front and rear sprocket due to worn out swing arm bushes?

60/55 without relay does not consume the mentioned current . The oe wiring is not capable of that. If your h/l doesn't dim significantly when horn/ indicators are used then I think you are safe. Dont forget to water your battery though..
You can decrease power consumption by going in for led bulbs for park and indicators as well as lower rated bulbs for tail lights. For led indicators you might have to change the flasher unit.

Place the bike in main stand and push rear tyre sideways. If it has play then swingarm bushes are gone. Stand still to acceleration noise seems like the rubber damper on rear wheels are gone.

Around 3 and a half years and about 13000 kms later I changed my zma's air filter.

The zen air filter isnt used yet due to lack of time for the mod. Am currently using the oe filter.

Thanks bro. Changed damper rubber today. Khat sound in first gear converted into minute click sound and vibrations in rear part also reduced.

Pl correct me if wrong in zma carb tuning steps. I want to tune it myself to 3.5 turns

                                1. Warm up the engine to ideal temperature
                                2. Increase idle RPM to 3000 using idle screw
                                3. Fully close AFR screw (anticlockwise)
                                4. Now open 3.5 turns (clockwise)
                                5. Set the idle RPM to 1400 using idle screw.
