Well, the easiest solution is to search this thread. Take out some time daily and start reading through this thread from page 1. Yes it'll take some time but then you won't need to ask most questions as they have been covered in great detail already.
For starters, yes you will have to pay for the carb slide cleaning. Secondly, there is a DIY posted for the same as well. - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...-cleaning.html

I am looking to buy a second hand Karizma R. I am specifically looking for any models between 2009-2012. I would like to know the second hand market value of models. I have checked out couple of bikes here in bangalore. There are lots of bikes available but my only concern is paying the right money for the bike. If senior members can help me with the market value of the bikes it would be of great help.

          In the meantime,
          1) i really like a white Karizma R 2011 model. The guy is quoting Rs 65000. I know this is a little high. The bike has run for 21000kms and has a single owner. I have test ridden the bike. The bike has no problems. Has a good service history and maintained very well. Is this a good choice? The Price i am quoting is Rs 55000 max. Please help me with your valuable comments.
          2) Additionally, i have seen a lot of ZMR's for sale @ Rs 55000 on OLX. Maybe with a little negotiation i can bring the price down.

Which is the better of the above two?

The bike will be used for commuting purpose within the city limits and occasional trips once in 3 months.

          Thanks
          Andrew
Me too is looking for used karizma R 2011 onwards... I have just test ridden the karizma i saw on olx today... he is quoting Rs. 42k for April 2011 model.. total mileage is 34000... it had some broken but manageable fairing parts... but engine was butter smooth...

I guess you should not be spending more than 45000 for karizma r 2011 onwards model... good luck...

          Thanks.

Karizma... the best commuter cum long tourer of all time... I don't think any manufacturer have a built such a perfect bike till now... which is the reason i've still not decided which bike to buy...

I am having a black beauty ZMA-R 2007 model with stock tyres, K&N filter which I put up 2-3 months back, no more alterations.. She has done near to 69k on the odo.. Bought in August 2014.. I am the third owner of this beauty..

Need a good mechanic near my area for my ride to help me sort out issues..

Been going to different local mechanics in case of urgency.. Done 2 servicing 1st one at 1000kms running and second after 3500kms running.. Not satisfied completely.. Please give a contact for a trusted mechanic near my area..

Writing this post asI am looking forward to change the stock tyres to new ones, as the stock one does not perform well, fishtailing issue, when the road is wet..

Especially when bike moving is straight.. Also, it has cracks on the sides of tyres as it had stayed idle for almost a year with the previous owner.. But had performed well while cornering (trust me I do a lot of cornering whenever I get a chance) and she has never slipped once.. I love to travel a lot and have done long rides with the tires.. Never had a puncture.. But tyres looks good as they haven't worn out much.. But nw, I think its time to change them.. Monsoon has hit Pune.. Please advise on better tyres for my ZMA suitable for monsoon, having cornering ability, good for touring as well..

For some changing the engine oil could improve shifting but that only makes it slick.
In your case, warrants some more detailed inspection. This could root deep to the level of clutch assembly. However, as a first step, try changing the engine oil to see the improvement as you have already adjusted the clutch ply per your earlier post.

Hard gearshifts almost go synonymous with improper grade oil or low oil level or poor oil quality itself. Which grade did you use? Some oils do tend to lose viscosity after heating up and cause engine harshness.

Is this neutral switch located inside the engine also?

My bike's handle bar was removed and installed again recently to fix the loose lock console. Could both of the issues resultant of because of that?

Also how to explain this clutch slack to a local bike mechanic? Do you mean the freeplay of the clutch lever? I am not taking my bike to Hero Service center and will visit my neighborhood mechanic. And is this sudden hard gearing because of the clutch slackness?

Neutral switch is located bottom end of engine. Its nothing to do with clutch but that's the switch turns on the green while you shift to neutral green light on your console.

Clutch switch is widely known so don't worry about it. You will have to check that piece. May be while fixing your handlebar back, could have either not fixed properly or went kaput.

Neutral switch is always inside the stator casing cover, which is easily removable, the green light you get to see in your console is switched on and off by this neutral switch. The clutch switch is a small spring loaded switch inside the left lever yoke, it's timid to observe by just looking at the yoke. If this clutch switch is malfunctioning, or has loose terminals then you'd have trouble starting the bike by pressing the clutch which is in gear. Since you've mentioned you've removed your handlebars, it "might" just might be that clutch switch may be the issue here. Though you check other methods recommended by fellow members.

I did not know all these years that neutral switch is easily removable on karizma. Can you help elaborating so everybody learn something today?

All I have seen and heard is, the neutral switch is placed deep where you need to open up the engine and few in the past have ignored doing so knowing intricacies.

VJ saar, in the Karizma twins it's inside the engine casing and not in the stator cover. One would need to rip the engine case apart to access it.

Exactly DS, I just wanted to make him clear not to confuse him inside crankcase, that's the reason I mentioned inside the stator cover (or the half piece to be precise) removing which one can view the switch with the wire stub. Maybe I should elaborate here on. Keep it simple silly!

Experts, need help with my ZMA R..
From past two days she is not starting with the self start. I found that the console is not turning on while key is inserted, on battery. I think that's because of the battery, its a stock one I suppose. I think the battery is draining out completely. I am using 6000K Hid HL kit for my ZMA from April. Till now I haven't faced any issues like this. But from last two days, I am facing this issue. Could it be the HID causing the issue? I cannot fire her up using kick lever also. She simply won't start. Even starter motor is not making that kind of sound when we normally use it while kick start. I have read about this type of issue once in this thread, but am not able to find it now. Could anyone please direct me to that page or advise what could possibly be the reason for even the kick start is not working if its a battery drained out issue? Hence I had to start by putting in 2nd gear. I know it's not good for her, but still I have no other option to start up.
Once the engine starts running, its all back to normal.. I can stop engine and use self start to fire up again.. But for first start, or after a long gap - like in the morning and after office, she simply won't start..
                            Please help..

Get a multimeter and check battery . If the battery is not maintenance free check water level and top up if necessary. For better peace of mind take the battery to service point and get it recharged. If it requires replacement consider going in for a 9ah one. I had the battery issue recently but could kick start. I just filled distilled water and it was back to normal.
