Sorry to hear about your accident ravi@17bhp . Glad to see all's good with you. Hopefully your bike will be up to speed in no time at all.
If you can, use Araldite to fix the cracked fairings.

Bike received good damages.

The following received damages.

Front Fender
Front right side cowl
Meter bottom cover stay
Right front indicator
Engine cowl
Silencer shield
Handlebar with right side bar end weights.
Minor scratches on right rear cowl and fuel tank.

When I fell I saw the meter completely dismantled from its position, and thought I had to replace the whole meter assembly. Later I was relieved to see the meter working normally. I was more happy later when I learnt that I just need to replace the meter bottom cover which is just 164 rupees.
Ravi, so sorry to hear about the crash. It pains to see the bike in that shape. Take care.

I am also interested in removing engine belly and install crash guard. Pl suggest which crash guard is direct fit. Do single rod guard provide any safety to fairings during minor fall?

@Ravi: Sorry to read about the accident. Get well soon (both you and your ZMA). Btw, are the fairings for the older model ZMA still available?

Rod type crashguards are normally too rigid and dont bend easily. In case of a fall that would mean that the impact would be transferred to the chasis. Crash guards should be like helmets...to be changed after one use...

Get the stunner one, saved me fortunes when it came to protecting the cowl in the event of a tip over.

My purpose is to protect fairings during minor falls from standstill or from very slow speed say 20-30km/hr. Does crash guard harm chassis for said purpose?

I read your earlier posts, where you gave details on installing stunner crash guard. You mentioned that one have to cut bolt size to avoid front fender scratches but you put stunner crash guard without removing engine belly, I want to remove engine belly and fit crash guard, is it direct fit?

^^^ Guys, I know,I will have several falls...Going to laddakh this june.

The belly cowl was irritating so removed it and replaced with Stunner crash guard. The U clamp is longer and will foul with the front Fender, so before fitting take the crash guard to machinist and get the Centre part pressed and flattened. Then after installing cut the excess part of the clamp and you will be good to go. And also get a longer hangar bolt.

ID:	1878482 Hi,Its a very nice discussion group, and im highly interested in joining this. Me from bangalore , a former cbz'ian, bought a used karizma r (2007 model) 3days before. From cbz, to zma what i feel is, first of all a better riding position(front forward riding posture was not good, frequent load on hands and caused me back pain i am in my sweet thirties ) , less vibration, easy to handle because of the less load on handle, and i liked the long throw feeling in gears 2nd to up, more efficient front brakes, feather touch gear shifting, smoother rear suspension, and is quicker, and gives a ride with pride feeling.. And this bike has done 26xxx km in the odo. Have changed oil(motul), brake pads and shoes, and fitted the mirrors, and changed the plug ( ngk iridium). Apart from some minor accident scratches , the bike doesn't have any cosmetic problems. Now i am thinking of changing both the tires. Other than this is there any periodical services that i have to do in the 25k range? And i am really confused with the fuel indicator , it shows different readings each time.. feels like analog one was good (of my cbz). The fuel was near to dry at the time of purchasing, and i have put petrol for rs 500 and reset the trip meter. Today, at 128km in trip meter it gone reserve . Don't know exactly the reserve capacity , but pls give suggestions if the FE is too low. Awaiting replies

1. Change all consumables and also dont forget to clean the centrifugal oil filter.

2. Digital fuel Guage is a *****, get used to it.

3. 128kms for 500rs fuel is low but don't conclude on that, cause riding pattern plays an important role here.

^^How did you identify the bike has come to reserve? By reserve knob or by fuel indicator? If you think the bike hit reserve after you see the last bar starts blinking, then its not really reserve. There would be still ~2 liters to hit the reserve after the last bar starts blinking.
