Change as soon as the you feel the ride quality has dropped, rather than keeping a fixed interval.Originally posted by undergroundrider View Post

But doesn't it come with a pre specified change interval?Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostChange as soon as the you feel the ride quality has dropped, rather than keeping a fixed interval.

It does. If there is a sticker near the petrol cap on the tank, then read it.Originally posted by undergroundrider View PostBut doesn't it come with a pre specified change interval?

Else, it is a 2k kms interval on an average.

Lasted me 3281 kms. I had no other option but ride within limits. Never once did the engine feel harsh. But 2500 is safe.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostAX7 has a semi-synthetic base. It should normally good for 2500 kms.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Yes, you could go more. I used it for 3500 on my Dazzler. Engine was still running smooth when the oil was drained. But 2500 is the safe limit.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostLasted me 3281 kms. I had no other option but ride within limits. Never once did the engine feel harsh. But 2500 is safe.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Yes I read Phanikar saar's post few pages back as well stating that it can last 3k+. It gave me immense comfort since I had planned my Orissa trip. Sadly I didn't find Shell Ax7 in Bhubaneswar, hence continued with the same oil and replaced as soon as I came back. BTW, all fins in the radiator are bent and sometimes I get a burning smell in heavy traffic. No leaks so far. Any idea how much a new one costs?Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostYes, you could go more. I used it for 3500 on my Dazzler. Engine was still running smooth when the oil was drained. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
The old karizma has been discontinued as new one will be launched next week. Wait for those. As they have better power, better torque, are lighter and thus quicker, have wider tyres, better lights as they come with 55w H7 bulbs, have open chain and will cost almost the same. Moreover as per service engineer statement the plastics are much better and stronger and also bike has nil vibrations in it and engine is super smooth.Originally posted by pundrick View PostHey all, karizma is out of stock in Hyderabad. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Thanks for response. New one has quite aggressive ergonomics for my choice and pillion seat also doesn't looks that comfortable. But I guess if I don't find a decent used one then I will have to consider new one.Originally posted by sibun View PostThe old karizma has been discontinued as new one will be launched next week. But I guess riding stance is retained similar to older models.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
All Zma techies,
This is my first post, I own a 2012 white karizma R(second hand) in Mumbai. I got the bike serviced recently and added Motul 300v 10w40 oil. Recently the timing chain tensioner noise was irritating a lot, so I replaced it with a original spare last week. The noise was gone.
However, from yesterday, the noise has come back. It can be heard after few kilometers of riding when I come to parking, but goes away after a minute of idling. Reappears again after a ride. My bike also has noisy(sewing machine) tappets from couple of months. But i dont understand how this tensioner noise reappeared within a week of tensioner replacement.
The mechanic says noisy tappets aren't a problem and do not cause any harm. I am worried because the engine heats a lot, mayb because of summer.
Please help.

Get the clutch cable adjusted and see if that changes gear shifting.Originally posted by undergroundrider View PostQuery
My down shifts feel hard, while the up shifts are super smooth
is there something that can be done about it.?
Tensioner/chain noise is different and the tappet noise is different. If you've already replaced the timing chain, also ensure that the tensioner was replaced as well. Along with the tensioner, it makes sense to replace the timing chain, and if necessary the guides as well.Originally posted by PTushar View PostAll Zma techies,

You definitely need to have the tappet tolerance checked and tightened at the compression stroke. Loose or overly tight tappets will lead to performance loss and/or engine damage over a period.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R

Old ones were bust so I got new pair, I intend to raise the front using shims (To save fender of course), please suggest the appropriate size for shim, and how it should be placed.
