Whoa man this decade old Karizma R is such an impressive motorcycle. I've seen many maniacs riding the Karizma R. Today I saw this guy with a roaring Karizma R probably with a conical air filter installed... amazing riding skills, zipping through the traffic and giving me a hard time keeping up, remained in front at red light take off.. but past 60 kmph my NS easily overtook it though. Sometimes it's fun to indulge in city traffic run with another maniac.. risky but fun.
His Karizma with a tidy tail number plate mod looked so stunning from the rear. The new one looks like crap. Great respect for this old horse.

Nice to know that bikers have respect for other brands too, but your description of the entire episode is sad. You knew it was dangerous yet you did it. May I know why? What fun do guys get cutting through traffic like maniacs?

No brother, you judged me wrong. Cutting through traffic like total maniacs is not my thing.. believe it or not I'm extremely responsible when it comes to day to day riding to my work place which is about 50 Kms in total. Though my riding style is fast as it should be for anyone riding a 200cc bike but not crazy. Moments like today are very rare events when I give myself adrenaline rush in city traffic and test my maneuvering skills against another rider. It's not ego that made me do it.. its curiousity.
I feel simply riding today's fastest motorcycles in India like place is dangerous in itself, but we do it anyway don't we. Attempting cornering on curves & hilly roads is even more dangerous.. especially with our gay compound tyres.

As you go on you'll find that there are more awsome guys than myself...I gained much of the gyan from the forum. I'm only glad to give a bit of it back. Keep us posted of the changes you make in detail once you have finished making them. Clear your doubts before attempting something. There are many experienced riders and zma techies here. Heed to their advice. Wish you all the best.

Post accident, bike was idle for almost 20 days. I repaired the bike last weekend and made it ride-able. As I couldn't source the bottom white panel of the meter console in Hyderabad, I took the help of Ramprasad from Bangalore and got it (thanks Ramprasad). I was very happy that the price of the spare is just 163 rupees. Initially I thought of going to my mechanic for the replacement of handlebar, but finally decided to do it myself. Bought new handlebar and meter bracket rubbers; I already have a new set bar-end weights. Initially I hesitated to work on the meter console myself but went ahead, and thankfully I was able to fit everything myself without any problem. And of course, I injured my left hand palm while pushing in the bar-end rod into the handle bar. The screw driver tip pierced into the palm. Took me 4 days to recover.

                    Here are some pics.

Meter console with new and old broken bottom cover.

As I couldn't source the cracked and scratched panels of my bike's color, I just used the same cracked panels for time being.

                    The palm injury.

My ankle is almost healed, and I am able to ride the bike.

AFAIK everyone knows it but I would still love to say that karizma was the first sports bike india ever got.It was the catalyst of change that made General masses to think of biking as a luxury and addiction, rather than mere commutation.

Isn't there a place in hyderabad that fixes damaged fiber parts/panels ? Maybe somewhere in Ramkote?
Because in Chennai there was this place (probably around pudupet where they make a lot of body kits etc.. out of fiber)where my mech used to get the panels fixed and i remember quiet a few karizma panels that were repaired.. scratched/cracked/screw mounting points broken etc..

Sid, my front right cowl is damaged, cracked, broken, and scratched. There is no way you can fix it. Replacement is the only option. I have to order and get a new one. The same case with front fender. It completely broke. There are third-party fiber parts, but the paint fades away very soon. So, I would be opting for original spares. It may take months, but I would wait for them.

I am not aware of any special tools as I never did it myself. however, it will be nice if you once check with service station or local mechanic if any, they can provide useful information

I've seen the broken damaged panels of karizma's being fixed.. most ppl opt for it cos they are expensive compared to lets say pulsars, They usually use some sort of a filler/patches of fiber 'cloth' and fix the damange and then sand it down and paint it.. trust me it looks as good as new and its the original part (rather than buying 'local' panels or spending a bomb on oem)
Of course nothing like new parts & do get well soon
