Sir, bike doing 100 comfortably. Missing happens only at increasing speed ( ex-suppose I am riding at 70kmph and then I slow down to 30kmph and while again increasing speed from 30 kmph and while up shifting missing/jerking happens for a moment, feels that if I increase throttle little aggressively engine power just dip for a micro second and again pulls up )

yesterday again went to SC and head mechanic first checked the petrol by draining out all petrol and it was fine. Then he tightened all the screws of hose pipe of carburetor which connects carb and engine ( intake). Now problem resolved little bit but not completely, now at constant speed also I am feeling missing/jerking very minutely.

At what rpms the missing is present? Any specific pattern? Like only above 3k rpm? or throughout the rpm range? Maybe you need to clean the pilot and main jets.

Ravi, missing is in mostly between 4k-6k rpm when I accelerate little hard. While upshfting gears after shutting throttle to change gear and then again giving throttle up to increase speed ( this is the moment when missing/jerking happen, mostly missing feel between 3rd-4th-5th gear change ).

When I am riding at constant 80kmph and if I give little aggresive throttle, then between 80-100 missing happen.

Symptoms point to main jet and throttle slide. Check if main jet has any clogs. Check if the slide movement is smooth. Let's see what other experts say.

Ravi, is it possible that jets been clogged in a 8k kms old bike? Is there any additive which can be mixed with fuel to clean jets/carb?

Will check this tomorrow at SC.

And this missing problem appeared at once 3-4 days back, before that no prob at all.

even a 100km run bike can have clogged jets.. due to various factors. but one thing you can try before opening the carb, is to test drive the bike without the airfilter for a cpl of kilometers and check. Sometimes it might just need the air filter cleaning or replacement.
I once had this missing issue on the dio and it was the air filter that needed replacement, considering it was a paper type filter and it got wet with petrol and wasn't letting in the required air..its a diff story why it got wet with petrol
And once i had this issue of SEVERE missing shutting off (it came out of nowhere as i was riding on way to work and it ran only if choke was pulled) - and this was due to blocked jet caused by a strand of the 'waste' cloth that mechs use to clean parts. I was lucky to be riding close to from where my mech had his garage and got it fixed in 10mins.

SC mechanic test drove the bike by removing air filter but missing happened in this case also.

Yesterday tried with different SC, here mechanic altered AFR setting..missing gone upto and extent but not completely. Here I suggested him to clean carb but he straightway refused to open carb of a new bike.

Ask the service manger politely to solve the issue. If he gives up, just shoot a mail to Hero Customer Care and explain about the refusal to solve the issue even after multiple visits.

ravi@17bhp , i remember you had an issue with the bike smoking for a few seconds on initial start up.. what was the cause and has it been fixed ?
A friends CBZ xtreme is having a similar issue.. it smokes (bluish smoke) for around 30 seconds on initial start up when its left idle for a few hours (like overnight or parked at office in morning and evening when its started) The bike performs normally otherwise it is a pretty well maintained bike. Is it the valves that need to be reseated ?

If you have ruled out the sai unit , the air filter and state of tune.. then probably the carb needs a cleanup or the rubber slide inside the carb needs replacement. As ravi mentioned, do email hero about this issue.

oil seals are leaking.. oil deposit in cylinder block as far as i can think.. once the engine warms out and the metal expands .. it holds well however if you race the engine even after the engine is warmed up..you should see the smoke.. this is what i can think of.. not sure though.. let ravi bro pitch in..

I too am facing this problem in my brothers and my 05 unicorn, mine is 49k km old and his is just 30k km old, the common thing is that this happened after changing oil and previous oil was shell ax7. He shifted to shell ax5, and I'm using Valvoline 4t premium.

Sid, mostly its the valve stem seal leakage. Rarely, it could be due to internally leaking gasket. Ask him to replace the valve stem seals.

Leaking valve stem seals one reason, other is the piston rings are contracted when cold, hence the oil is getting burnt, once it warms ups and expands it sits better and hence no more smoke, how many kms run?
Do you notice any drop in oil?

divyansh....
