Re: Karizma/Karizma R
When the engine is open, just replace the valve stem seals, there is no way you can physically ascertain the condition of valve stem seals. If the piston rings are worn, there would be white/blue smoke at higher rpms.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostHH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Ravi bhai is right, better to replace them anyways,Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostHow to check for a leaky valve stem when the engine is open? And how to check if piston rings are worn?

How many kms has the bike done
Piston rings are worn bike would smoke, consume oil, but as I mentioned they are not fully lost and hence when the bike is hot the rings will seal better and bike will not smoke,
Best bet would be just get a set of piston rings and valve steam seals and a timing chain and guide (best to do it when its opened, check the bore if its still inside serviceable limit, if not then get a new bore piston set, or just replace the rings and valve seals,

Today morning sent an aggressive email to Heromotocorp and by 5 pm got a call from heromotocorp. Tomorrow my bike will be checked in front of heromotocorp engineer.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostAsk the service manger politely to solve the issue. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
A quick one. I finally got shell Ax7 filled in my ZMR. The guy at the bunk filled 1.2L. I came home and checked the manual and it says 900ml. Which one's correct? It says folk with 0.9L approx when clutch cover is not removed.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
The manual seems to be correct. Definitely follow the manual over the guy at the bunk! I think it is advicable to remove the oil and fill the right amount of oil I.e 900 ml according to manual as excess engine oil may cause problems like oil leak from gasket etc.Originally posted by rav View PostA quick one. And for 1.2L which the bunk guy filled, you bought two bottles of ax7 oil?

Yeh, i bought two bottles. I asked him twice and he said they do this daily, filling 1200ml. So when do we fill 1200ml then?~ long roads winding through dense forests are what I seek..Solitude ~

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Clearly that guy overfilled engine oil. On normal draining it requires 900 ml and if you tilt bike sideways then 1l is needed. Overfilled oil is as bad as low oil level. It can increase the pressure inside crankcase and will cause gasket or seals to fail and will start leaking oil also idling and acceleration will be reduced and so on... So drain the extra amound of oil immediately. If you don't know how to drain oil, you can simply take transparent tube and dip it through the oil filling hole and suck out the extra oil to a bottle.Originally posted by rav View PostA quick one. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Even though he tilt the bike for hours he can't remove the whole oil. There will be a oil film covering all the internal parts and crankcase. So you need to drain out the excess 200 ml.Originally posted by rav View PostHe tilted the bike for sure. He made sure that there's no oil left in it

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Just check the engine oil level with the dipstick. If the oil level is between the low and high marks, then don't worry about filling 1200 ml oil. If its above the upper level, then drain some oil.Originally posted by rav View PostA quick one. I finally got shell Ax7 filled in my ZMR. The guy at the bunk filled 1.2L. I still can't understand how can you allow someone to fill just 1200ml oil blindly. I have seen you on this form for quite some time, and yet you don't know how much oil is drained by removing the drain bolt. You should have the common sense to check for the oil level when that guy filled 1200 ml oil. You should always check the oil level and make sure its within limits after you fill engine oil.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
