Hi dude, I'm newbie myself on two wheelers, so cannot help much except to say that have your wheels balance checked. Unbalanced wheels sometimes gives wobbling effects in cars at certain speed. So maybe it may be true for two wheelers as well.

Have the carb checked, air filter cleaned and the spark plug replaced if required. Not a spreocket issue based on your description. Have your fork oil replaced and check if the front springs need replacement as well.

This is a common problem with riders new to the one-down, rest up kinda gearbox. Relax, ride. You'll get used to it. No single oil is going to make things appreciably better - just change the oil (my recommendation is HH 10W30 oil) and get used to the pattern, you'll get there pretty quick.

Difficult to answer this one. Here's my take:
Your indicated top speed should be 120 kmph, given a clear stretch of road. You should be able to accelerate cleanly if revving through the gears. When in motion, the bike should pull cleanly away (torque) at low rpm without hesitation.

          • Usually the ticking sound comes from the silencer especially when the bike is hot. But i`ve never across cam chain making the noise.. get the cam tensioner and tappets adjusted by a good mech .
Dont wanna miss that look on your face when i blow past you.

                    • Yesterday, the clutch wire broke at the lever junction and the bike stalled in the middle of the traffic. Pushed the bike to a side at S. R. Nagar. Could not locate any mechanic nearby even after searching for an hour. Caught a bus finally and went to Kukatpally and bought the Clutch cable for 67 bucks. Came back and was wexed to look for any mechanic and finally I decided to do it myself, and yeah I MYSELF FIXED IT. I am happy for that.

Actually my bike also has the same symptoms. I have been thinking till now that the cam tensioner has gone (38000km on odo) and has been thinking of replacing it. Now you guys are confusing me. Now, I also have the same question, is it due to loose tappets or cam tensioner?? Let me check with my mechanic and find a solution.

                      • I was told by my mech(not the HH Service Center mech) that it might be the timing chain...cause if the cam tensioner is replaced then the only thing that could be the problem would be the timing chain.

I can hear this sound when the bike idles and also during pickup from stand still..

Yes nirvan, thats what i beleive the culprit is. and my god starting the bike in the morning is a pain. It just would'nt start!. I t takes a lot of mindless choking and umpteen no. of kicking. But once it kicks in , its fine for the rest of the day. The fork depression is due to the jerk in the engine at the speeds (70-80), i was talking about the intensity of the JERKING to cause such effects on the fork. The fork is good and works like a charm.

He he i think its upto me for that. i think iam getting the hang of it.So i guess public' s interest is a HH oil!?

Yes it does not have any prob pertaining to all told above. I think my bike has all the grunt needed!
                          Thanks nirvan for your points
I am seriously looking for some good service centres in mumbai..any inputs!.. I live in Kalina and i think will settle for a HH service

^^buddy your bike has done over 38k on the odo..but mine has done just 1650(1month old today)..i am planning to get it checked during 2nd service..but it is for sure that the performance degrades after driving 25-30kms..
Meanwhile, do let us know what your mechanic tells you!

went to the Service station today..they checked the bike again and told me that the problem is with the tappet setup...so they would get that sorted out and i would get the bike in the evening

                              • I guess the culprit for the metal sound for most of the bikes is 'loose tappets'. If anybody has the same problem, first fix the tappets.

I strongly wish mine is also just loose tappets and not cam tensioner.
