hope iv not screwed my zma!
If u downshift all the gears in quick succession(without any reduction in speed), any bike would give u that thud. U have to gradually downshift according to the speed.

    • I'd like to have the front fork oil of my Karizma changed.

Question is, how is this done? Is the entire fork assembly disassembled? Or do the mechs take the fork legs off, hold them upside down (sheesh!) and drain the oil out?

I'd also like to change the fork oil seals - is this recommended/needed?

      Thanks.

Yes, the entire fork assembly would be dismantled. Old oil is drained, the inner tubes are cleaned and after that fresh oil is put in and it is assembled again.

U can change the fork oil seals as a precautionary measure if it is light on ur pocket

        • @ insane biker... @ what kms we hav to change the fork oil?? or the service centre guys does this during Free services?

          • Naveen, do not change oil seals unless you see something foul. If the mechanic does not fit them properly, they would start leaking and it would be unnecessarily headache for you. I have the changed the fork oil once without changing the oil seals. Working fine.

I have got a bottle of Motul fork oil. It will be my next change soon.

                    1) Can I have confirmation that the amaron 9 AH batt will fit inside the battery cage? A dealer I went to did not have the 9 AH battery, but absolutely insisted that it would not fit.
                    2) Where is the darn battery available in Hyd - my amco battery is totally dead, it needs to be replaced ASAP.

                    Thanks a lot in advance!
                    1) Yes, it fits in to the Stock battery cage, the battery cage needs a bit of hammering thats all, you can use the stock "gate" lock itself to hold the battery securely, I got this amaron 9ah sealed battery about 2 months back, it is performing flawlessly with twin shrill horns and nightbreaker 55/60. Dealers don't know sh*t, take the battery to any good mech, he will fit it, i got mine fitted by a mech opposite to battery shop

                    2) No idea about hyd, check Amaron website. I remember having paid about 14xx something.

Some of you have it fitted on the bike, so could you please post some pictures of it and what is the specification of the bulb? Is it 55/60w?
Fitted Night breaker few months back along with krishna. We got it from osram dealer in bangalore for Rs 600 each. now night breaker comes in singles pack too. Unfortunately no pics
Osram night breaker is 55/60 halogen H4 P43t pin type. I guess it's as good as it gets for a 55/60, next step would be 100/90 (if you are ok risking reflector burns) or HID (the ultimate leveller )

And yes, as maverick46 told, I used to ride with the brake lever depressed.
I use Splendor's tail lamp bulbs and amazingly that stopped this irritating issue! Not sure if splendor's tail lamp bulb and zma's bulb are of same rating or such, but who cares as long as both the rear bulbs are glowing

I'm maintaining speeds/rpm within 60kmph/4000rpm though i have accidentally hit 80/5000 once for a very short period.. was trying to catch up with someone. all these problems started after that incident.. .. another thing when i push the throttle really quick(trying to overtake), the vibrations are very loud! i guess it's gotta do with the bike being new but just want to confirm..

i experience this only when i shift down(as u said in rapid succession) when i'm approaching a halt(signal or otherwise) and am slowing down very rapidly.. good to hear its normal..

Thanks Ravi. I bought a can of Savita Chemicals 350ml OE oil from Mody Motors today.

Now I'm wondering if this is enough? What is the quantity of oil needed to refill the fork legs?

144cc plus or minus 2cc in each tube, the manual says. Generally the mechanics fill around 160cc. Please be careful. 150cc is very much fine.
