  • Blazing tank

Guys a weird problem!. When I do long run , like average speeds of 60-70kms for like 20-30kms and then when I settle, I feel a lot of heat in the posterior part of the tank. The tank region just diagonally backwards above the engine head!. I mean the part where the thighs hug the tank.

    Anyone experiencing such problem?

    • Usually its the tappets that gets loose and makes the noise.. The best way to get it sorted is to ask the mechanic to dismantle the fuel tank (for easy access) and adjust the tappets to 0.10mm both inlet and exhaust. You get aftermarket cam tensioners which are better than the OE i think it cost abt 600bucks.
Dont wanna miss that look on your face when i blow past you.

I strongly wish mine is also just loose tappets and not cam tensioner.
The issue was with the tappets..now sorted..

              • Guys i really need a good horn for my zma. I have heard about roots and bosch twin horns, please guide me through which is the best and which relay to install ? and the cost of both. I have a 55/60 philips bulb. Does it need a relay as well ? I have another problem i have seen oil deposits on my engine at two places one near the top of the engine and some on the front, what could be the problem ? Is it the seals ?

I am getting constant clicking(metallic) sound from my bike, the noise comes in after a couple of minutes in traffic. My bike is under warranty...and the mech at the service center told me this kinda problem normally comes up with cam tensioner when the engine is cold and not when its hot but still he replaced the tensioner as it sounded like that..but the problem is still there and also i get little bit of knocking sound from the engine when riding for sometime in traffic and the bike engine doesn't seem to be free though i have clocked around 3500 kms on my ZMA..

                    please..help

^^Dude, you are getting a awesome mileage..i am getting around 38..

PS- My zma is about one month old(almost), and with 1500kms on the odo..oil changed at 300 and 600kms respectively..proper run in for the first 1000km under 4k after that have taken it to 120 quite a few times i guess..

I guess its the manufacturing defect or something..!! The mechanic said that it must be the cam tensioner problem and he would replace it today ( 3rd service) ..Lets see whats the real problem is..!

Regarding the horn yes you can go for the Bosch or Roots..! I don't know whats the exact price of it..but it ranges in 500-600 rupees..and yes, you have to install a relay for the dual horns....
For philips 60/55 head light bulb you don't need to fit any relays...its a direct fitment for Karizma..
The engine deposits is dude to improper packing..! please contact the HH service center guys and tell them to replace the gaskets where the OIL leak is..!

                          • I have Philips X-Treme Power 60/55W H4 bulb on my zma and it is a direct fit on the bike. Have done a lot of night riding and touring and it's simply brilliant.

                            UPDATE ON THE BIKE:

Bought the bike on 13th February, 2009 and it has done 9300kms. Got the 5th servicing done today. Had to replace the fairing (done under warranty)as it developed some cracks.

Yeah, ZMA heats up pretty quickly, even i too have observed this should have got a liquid-cooled engine

                              • My ZMA has done 3000KM. I am now having a new problem. RPM constantly fluctuates in the range of + or - 200. Also, the engine tends to cut off when idling after 10KM of ride. What could be the problem? Is it time to clean the carb?

Thanks for your suggestions on this.
