        • A squeaky disc IMO would need a removal of the brake pads and a good cleaning job. Im guessing glazing or dirt residue on the pads to be the culprit.

@Bangy guys: Any idea where i could get the 30004T in 10W30 grade?

MavericK46 you are correct the front disk needs to be removed and cleaned and the sweaking noise will go away

I got the servie done outside My mech you used to service my unicorn and my friends ZMA did a good job for my bike

He serviced the bike in front of me below are some of the things that he did
1.He removed and cleaned Air filter.
2.Removed the front disk pad and cleaned it for the sweaking noise i complained.
3.Adjusted the clutch and made gears smoother(also he put some small amount of oil in the gears)
4.He did not remove the carborator to clean as he said that is not required as bike has only done 600km as it will already be clean(He did check for any water in the carb cause i complained about air lock issue)
5.He removed the rear tyre and cleaned the Brake and the linear.
6.Put some grease in the chain to be smooth also adjusted the chain as it was too tight
7.Put some grease where the seat locks
8.He said no need to check the battery in the first service.
9.Changed the oil to Motul 10w30(He was like where did you find Motul)
10.Cleaned and polished the bike (used Waxpol liquid polish)
11.Took a test ride and checked the bike throughly.
12.Placed all the nuts and screws back to its original place(I made sure non of the screws are missing)

ALL in ALL a good Job Done took just Rs 100 and now bike feels really better

I doubt that the service center guys would do all this in the first service as they have sooo many bikes to service.

I think my Mech covered most of the things please advise if he has missed something important

              • one query..whats the difference between oil top up and oil change..in the karizma manual its stated 1200ml for oil change and 900ml for oil top up..all std sizes oil pkg in the market are available in 900ml or 1 ltr..so for oil change is 900ml or 1 ltr sufficient.. and has anyone tried the new power 1 castrol its available in 10w30 in 900 ml...

The karizma's engine contains a total of 1.2 liters. When you drain for oil change, you can drain only 900 ml through the drain bolt and only 900 ml needs to be added.

If you open the engine for any repairs the whole 1.2 L engine oil will be drained and you need to fill 1.3 L.

thanks for the info bro.my bike is now 1 yr 3 mnths old..and have just finished 6600kms running..(my daily commute is very less) so as mentioned in the manual have to get the oil changed completely..all this while i`ve been using the hh company oil..as all the time i`ve given my bike for servicing in the showroom. The bike`s silencer is making some weird noise..kharrrr whenever the engine is reved high of the bike goes in some pothole..maybe some part has become lose within the silencer..all the bolts are tight..still if u hit the silencer even when the engine is off it makes that kharr noise..hope the hh people replace it under warranty..else its been over a pleasant yr of owning one of the best bikes in the country

                    • Small correction in my earlier post, the total oil is 1.2L, and not 1.3L.

No need to change the entire engine oil by opening the engine. Just drain as you do regularly.

Are u sure about this..cause its mentioned in the manual oil top up every 2000kms and oil change every 6000kms

                          • ^ Vineet, oil change depends on which oil you put...!! If its HH or Motul Mineral then it needs to be changed every 2 - 2.5 K..and if the oil is semi-synthetic then it needs to be changed every 3 - 3.5K..and lastly if its a fully synthetic one then it needs to be changed after 5 - 5.5K..!!

                            • HH oils are good for 6,000 km/6 months in 'normal' use! You would be wasting good oil by changing so frequently... esp. if you don't find any change/roughness/etc in your running. There is no technical basis for saying that semi-synth and fully synth last longer unless specifically mentioned by the manufacturer... which means its an extended drain product. For eg. the HH oils, Gulf Pride and Elf are extended drain products. However it may be true that a fully synth may be more forgiving on your bike, if you miss oil changes as per schedule. But this is NOT recommended.

                              • It is true that a mineral oil needs a quicker drain than a SS/FS oil.

                                It is a proven fact.

They have better heat resistant capabilities, a uniform molecule structure , which ensure smoothness of engine on long rides. Above all, they last twice or thrice of that of a mineral oil.
