Karizma's tail lamp is Rs 250. Fine. R15's is Rs 150. Fine... the ZMA's is bigger in size and justifies the cost. RTR's is Rs 1500 because it is LED type. Check how much Apache150's costs. Cosmetic bits on the RTR are very expensive and engine bits are reasonable.

Dont know about R15's though.
BTW the pulsar s disc brake lever costs 120, and each bar end weight cost Rs 85 if i am not wrong. When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Well i know this is a really late reply but thank you for all ur warmth.. I'v nearly finished 100km.. You guys recommend changing the oil right.. Where should i do this? Go to the HHSC? I find that if i come to a complete stop while in the third gear, i can shift down to the second gear easily but to shift to the first gear, i have to push the bike a little forward and only then it's possible. Also i'v noticed that sometimes when i try to shift from neutral to first, the neutral light disappears and then as soon as i accelerate it comes back on!! lol.. also at times i find that the engine just switches off for no reason whatsoever.. it'll come back on when i press the electric start but stalls(in neutral!) as soon as i accelerate! the only way i can get it to start and remain on is by opening the petrol cap and shaking the bike a bit.. feels like an air lock! What is this caused by?
I want to go for a really long drive.. any suggestions for a good trip guys? I live in Bangalore.. possibly a day trip as this will be my first trip! or should i wait till i'v finished 1000km before i hit the high way?The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. The gear box more or less behaves that way with all bikes, 1st gear shift from stand still position is easy. Try changin gears at appropriate speeds, in that way you will not hit a 0kmph in 3rd gear.
Neutral light might be a malfunction or a case of incorrect gear slotting.
Since its a new bike, i would recommend that you slot the gears with a little more force. (Till you hear the click sound).
Air-lock is a common ZMA issue AFAIK. Please bring it to the SC guys notice when you leave her for the 1st service.
Highway riding at 60kmph (4k rpm) or below should be fine. Give ample breaks in between the ride. I suggest you can plan a Nandi Hills trip (120kms both ways)..the roads are good and it will be a nice run-in for the bike as well."Bikes + Music = Nirvana"

@vinfreak
i do try to change the gears at appropriate times but sometimes esp with sudden brakes that's the case.. good to hear it's a normal thing.
with the neutral light bit, it is incorrect gear slotting.. iv to hit it very hard at such times and it slots properly.. lol.. what i meant to ask was will this settle after a while(i mean will the gears free up with use)?
hopefully the airlock issue gets settled durin the service.. very annoyin! happens twice daily at least! lol...
think i will go for a trip to nandi hills sometime during the weekend.. should be fun...
and where should i get the oil changed? the sc?The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again.

Today I took the bike for 4th regular servicing at one of W.B's biggest authorized HH workshops (Sur Motors) as always. My bike has done close to 6k km in 6 months now. The mechanic didn't see his job card initially and seeing my bike's condition he asked me if the bike has done 1k km
. After I asked him to turn on the key and check the ODO and he was like
. He did the routine checking and they went to have a little spin with me as pillion. The little spin turned out to be a 12km ride!!!
He was completely smitten by the bike's performance. When I told him that I am getting milege of above 40 in city and above 45 in highway he was again

. For sometime he was riding the bike at 15kmph at 5th gear. There was no vibration/jerk. Even after his job was over he kept on chatting with me about what to do and not to do. I also gave him some valuable gyaan on ZMA that I have gained from xBhp.
It was an amaging fellings.

Hey whats the reason to change engine oil after first 100km? Cos i just did 100km.. while driving at around 930p.m. i felt that the engine was very very hot. Could this be the reason to change the oil?
I think i will take the bike down to the SC tmrw..
I'v just done 100km and 2 of the fuel bars are down! lol.. hmmm, what does that bring my mileage to?
@jonak:
please impart this all important gyan to us newer ZMA owners too will u? i mean 40 in the city is awesome!Last edited by Amogh Akshintala; 05-12-2009, 11:41 PM.The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Surely will try to keep it below 4k rpmOriginally posted by dreamz_mak View PostCongrats man ZMA Rocks
I have completed 450kms till now on my new ZMA and will take her for servicing after i complete 500kms
You are correct about the gear being hard however while downshifting try to give a little bit of throttle and gears will be a little smoother
Front fairing does vibrate a little even i am expecting it to be gone after my 1st service
change the oil after 100km use HH oil till runn in period atleast
Dont drive it above 4k till 1000kms
Enjoy your ride
its a awesome machine, but provide too-too much heat man!
thanks mate!!Originally posted by shaukshemi View PostCongratulations buddy....

Guys, i have been observing that squeaking soung incresing today..inspection revealed below the right side fairing..maybe some loose bolts..but it is highly irritating..other than that, this baby rocks!
I have done about 136kms in 2 days, only 1 bar has come down..hehe..i am getn a beter mileage than you..lol...about the heat part, it surely does toast man!Originally posted by Amogh Akshintala View PostHey whats the reason to change engine oil after first 100km? Dude u'v gotta be kidding me man! each of those bars roughly corresponds to around 1.8l(some rough calculations) and that means that ur mileage is around 60!! woah!! shit.. u must be an awesome driver then! wait a min 60 on a ZMA! that's insane!Originally posted by wings_of_fury View PostI have done about 136kms in 2 days, only 1 bar has come down..hehe..i am getn a beter mileage than you..lol...about the heat part, it surely does toast man!
is ur fuel meter working right??
i keep stalling the engine(i'm slowly getting better tho.. stalled only thrice today over 20km
on slopes mostly) as this' my first bike.. never ridden before.. that might explain my terrible mileage!(close to 35 currently
.. lol).. i hope that doesn't mean iv screwed up my bike.. an the weird part is the fuel meter cant decide if iv used up 2 bars or only 1!! lol.. keeps oscillating..

You have to get the metal shavings out of the oil so they can't contaminate the rest of the system. That's the reason for the oil change.Originally posted by Amogh Akshintala View PostHey whats the reason to change engine oil after first 100km? Calculate either full tank method or reserve to reserve method. I follow the later one.Originally posted by Amogh Akshintala View PostI'v just done 100km and 2 of the fuel bars are down! lol.. hmmm, what does that bring my mileage to?

For someone who is riding a bike for the first time, 35 is not bad milage at all in a 223cc machine. Go and have fun.Originally posted by Amogh Akshintala View Postas this' my first bike.. never ridden before.. that might explain my terrible mileage!(close to 35 currently

my run-in
Hi Mates,
I recently bought a ZMA and finished 500km so far in 1month (but with only 4days of riding).
My run -in method
1) commuting for 100km (max 45kph)
2) road trip for 100km (max 55kph)
3) oil changed (HHSC is on the next street
)
4) road trip for 200km (max 75kph, 5K rpm max)
5) commuting for 100km
note: i also ran-in the different gears during the road trip. rode on 3, 4 gear for 20-30km to ensure that all gears get run-in well. Even though i hit 75/80kph tops, it was intermittent and brief. This is also a run-in for the rider
as i m back on the saddle after 3yrs of non-biking!
now 500km and awaiting the first service !

No mate, its not the disc as i saidOriginally posted by Jonak View PostI think the sound is coming from the front disk. Just check it.
unfortunately..its somewhere from the right bottom of the fairing..when i push it from the bottom, it goes away..its very irritating, take my word for it..will check out for any loose bolts(which i feel is the case) and then post it back here..have been busy, so hardly time to post..
Well, my guess is, since i filled the tank to the full top, i have one bar down..will see if another one goes down and let u know..waise 60kmplOriginally posted by Amogh Akshintala View PostDude u'v gotta be kidding me man! each of those bars roughly corresponds to around 1.8l(some rough calculations) and that means that ur mileage is around 60!! woah!! shit.. u must be an awesome driver then! wait a min 60 on a ZMA! that's insane!

even my old Apache also didnt give me that much! Waise i try and maintain 60kmph as much as possible..
As per me, 35 is decent for a abs new bike! i too stalled the bike a couple of times, its just that it takes a little getting used to!
you'l be okie in 1-2 days i guess
Nice mate, i too will try and change oil at around 200km, if and when i get time, that is..Originally posted by pitbull View PostHi Mates,
