  • @ WINGS OF FURY: No, there is no battery problem. And the cracks were near the nut bolts on the tank.
    Hope to see you soon near 9000kms. Trust me its great to ride the bike after 5000 kms.

    And I am getting the mileage of around 41 km/l.

      okie..hope i have nuthn to change, and if there is, be it in warranty U too have been munching kms really fast man!

      I have now done 2100kms in 1months 5 days! Planning for a nice trip soon

      Mate 41 is a good mileage..i am getting max 38-39..

      • The exact valve clearance is 0.10mm or 0.1mm for both intake and exhaust. I have a copy of workshop manual which cant be wrong.

          LOL...buddy... 0.10mm and 0.1mm are same man....!! you can add any number of zeros after that 1...the value would be same..!!

              Problem 1
              Smoke comming out of exhaust while kept on nuetral and reved hard (may be while running too). Bike has done 47.5k now. Now running on Castrol Power one, changed oil 1000km back. What could be the problem ?
              Yeah also its getting heaten up easily these days.

              Problem 2
              Another isuue is. I had Irraduim spark plug and Split wire cable installed.
              It was doing good, acceleration is better than stock. Recently faced a problem like a kind of loss of power (smthing like when petrol gets over) in
              70-80 range. Its only in that range after that it gains the power back.
              Checked with couple of HH service center every one is blaiming abt the spark plug (15kdone I think) and split wire cable. Problem is split wire cable is very lose, so they are saying its because of that.

              Day before I put the new stock spark plug and new stock ignition cable.
              Problem has reduced to an extend. But still there is in that 70-80's it takes some time. Dont have that missing effect though.
              I am not sure if these two are inter related.

              From Millenium , mech said need check the enigine to see some spring (i dont know what). He also said might have to do some engine work which might cost ard 2k. I am technically very poor. really need some help and a detailed explanation will be appreciated

              • another zma....another issue

                Today, as usual I woke up late and was on my way to office when this strange thing happened at Hosur Road. I was riding the bike at 120 with no traffic and was enjoying it, suddenly, the revs went down and bike started sputtering and came to a complete halt in the middle of hosur road.Somehow managed to pull it to a side and tried starting it. The engine was cranking but it was not starting up.checked the spark plug etc. was all good. left it for good 10 mins and tried starting again, now, this time the bike started but was at idling rpm, if i throttle it, the engine was dying, also, i noticed smoke from exhaust indicating the burining of engine oil. Later, I thought it may be a vapour lock, so i opened up the tank and voila !!! the bike started running again.
                What worries me is that this kind of strange incident happened with my previous bike also before the gears broke and required major replacements.It happened at around 8k and this bike has already started troubling at 4k.I was planning for a small ride this weekend.Now, am thinking of skipping it and taking my bike to service center just to see everything is ok. Anyone had this kind of experience before or am i the only one having this weird issues?

                  Budddy i guess its the problem with your Breather Hole...just get it checked....and tell the service center people to clean it..since you have mentioned your bike was normal after opening the tank lid...its the Breather tube which is culprit..!! And ZMAs have that common issue of breather vent getting blocked..so regularly get it cleaned..!!

                      This sounds like a minor issue of fuel starvation or perhaps an electrical loose connection - was the spark plug cap seated tightly? Have your fuel vents cleaned.

                      There's no correlation between this problem and the problem of your gears breaking. Gears don't break unless they are mishandled (I'm not sure how your gears broke on the earlier bike). Just make sure your oil is topped up and your clutch is set correctly and you should be fine.

                          Problem 1: You will have to change the piston and check the valves.
                          No idea about problem 2.

                            Dude this happens with me once a month or two. It's a common issue in zma. Whenever this kind of thing happens, just open the tank lid and she will come back to life The culprit is the small air hole in the tank. Was discussing this with the service centre manager and he pointed out the flaw in designing the tank. So, i guess we will have to live with it. I have stopped pondering over this flaw.

                              they wont give you any gains,apart from lightening your wallet.

                              • Hello Xbhp-ian's, Some interesting facts on ZMA.

                                My ZMA is close to 4 months old, done around 8K kms till date. I was constantly doing 80 - 90 on the Speedo, i slowed down couple of time, but didn't go below 40 Kmph. Assuming that the slowdown latsted for a very few secs, which is negligible, I Covered a diatance of 22.5 Kms in 19 Mins which approx translates to an average speed of 71Kmph which is near accurate. So doing 80 - 90 Kmph on a ZMA, is ~ 72 KMph. There is a huge speedo error of 15%. Has anyone fancied chances of calculating these...
