Pl correct me if wrong in zma carb tuning steps. I want to tune it myself to 3.5 turns

    1. Warm up the engine to ideal temperature
    2. Increase idle RPM to 3000 using idle screw
    3. Fully close AFR screw (anticlockwise)
    4. Now open 3.5 turns (clockwise)
    5. Set the idle RPM to 1400 using idle screw.
Glad you got the dampers sorted out.
You are correct in the AFR tuning except you got the clockwise and anti-clockwise mixed up.

friends ... i have ZMA-R 2012 version.... recently i have observed that rear shock absorber has gone stiffer.
I get some back pain duo to that.

what would be remedy to make the rear springs softer??
Incase replacement is necessary ;i will prefer the GRS shock absorbers . But will GRS type fit in ZMA-R ?

You can adjust stiffness by using the c spanner provided in the toolkit. Check user manual for directions. GRS is swappable i think.

checked by mechanics.. as per them the rear shocks are at default factory settings which is softest settings... i can only make the settings stiffer...
can i fit CBZ Xtreme/Hulk GRS shocks in ZMA-R ?

I think the oe settings will be medium. The shocks are normally 5 step adjustable and it will be in central cut. Making it softer might help in bottoming when 2 up. ASS might be trying to canvas a sale.

Can you just look the shocks and say at what position they are.. Generally they are put at 2nd slot from company in almost all hero bikes

                Hi Guys
Recently, got my Karizma installed Amaron 9ah battery and the bike just came to life.

After that got my bike serviced, when the mechanic drained the engine oil it just drained around 300-400ml. The only reason I could think of this is that bike got serviced after 2 years and during this period the running was very minimal.

But, can thus reason be taken as actual reason for very little amount of oil draining out. Please advise.

Also, I want to upgrade headlight, thought of osram nb installed. Can it do good without a relay installed? (read some earlier posts stating that it can be installed without a relay).
So, should I go forward and install without a relay?

yes. oil draining is normal after 2 yrs so dont worry... go for philips/osram 55/60watts ... it just works fine without any relay... just make sure you do not switch on the headlight when engine is off... it drains lot of battery and may harm your battery life...

When draining oil the full quantity should be drained. How much did they bill you for ?
With 9 ah battery you can have 60/55w h/l bulb with relay. You can also fit it without relay as so many of our members have done. Try to get a bike with relay and another without relay side by side and see the results. Do read my posts on the same.

                      Hey thanks for replying.

They charged just for the paid service charges and meter console left and right support rubbers, in all Rs 304/-.
I took oil with me so they didn't charged me for that.

Did you take along a 1 liter can of oil? What happened to the balance oil ? Didn't you ask for an explanation from them ?
When you mix a small quantity of new oil to the old the quality of oil is still low. It is not like topping up coolant in a car. If it was topping up it was ok but you said they drained. If draining the whole oil should be drained.

Yes, they did the same. They drained the complete oil and that came out to be 300-400ml and they poured in 900ml from the can(of Motul 20w 40) I took and rest they handed over to me.
Complete process was carried out in front of me, I was also surprised to see very less that got drained.

Only reason, I could think of was I got a oil change after 2 years gap and during this time my bike had minimal running. Mechanic also asked that bike ever smoked out black smoke but I denied that it didn't happened ever, he also checked the exhaust there were no signs of black carbon at the tip of burnt oil.

My bad... I thought they didnt drain out the whole oil. But 300 to 400 ml with less riding don't make perfect sense.

Yeah! I definitely it doesn't make much sense. The only thing now can be done is observing the oil level over a period of 500kms and see if there is any leakage around the engine area.

Anything, you want to suggest for this thing?

Good to see your post after a long time...guess your Ninja is keeping you happy and you seldom use the Karizma.
300~400 ml drain is too low for comfort. Check if the engine smokes on morning starts, indicating Valve stem seal leak....In any case keep an eye on the Oil level every 500 Kms...Since you had not changed oil for 2 yrs, I would suggest you use Shell Rimula R4 in your next oil change and use it for 1,000 Kms at least. The higher level of Detergents in the R4 will help clean the residual deposits inside the engine, and help engine to run better.
                                Good Luck.
