Never ride without air filter since it will allow dust particles inside ,which will scratch the Carb., slide and the bore and piston will wear out soon.
Your removing of air filter for better engine behavior suggests that you are running rich at present. Suggest you put back the Air Filter ,
and adjust AFR screw to Two and a half turn and see how engine behaves.

Did you remove just the snorkel or the entire filter element?
Removed entire filter element and closed the box with screws.

Car relay wiring kit will be having 2 output wires and you can either cut off the 2nd set or roll it up and keep it along with the relay. Please do post results here.
Thanks acs for the information. I did get the bulb installed but without the relay as the all the mechanics I know nearby told that headlight bulb is not available for bikes.
What should I do now? I also think that relate installation will make some difference, also the throw is now better but headlight dims when indicators or horn is used while headlight is on.

Hey aniket, I tried to source the rubber from the svc but they are not selling karizma spares of the shelf. Sorry buddy.

You must've meant headlight bulb relays...
That is why I mentioned car relay. Relay with wiring kit is available for cars. It is plug n play. Only thing is it will supply full wattage to the HL ... so if your battery is 7 ah it is likely to drain out unless you are doing medium or high speed.
You can reduce electrical load by going for lower rated tail n indicators n pilot bulbs. LEDs are very good for that purpose.

Just for curiosity asking- zmr fuel injection system could be installed in zma?

            For that-

            1. Need to change head, block to zmr?
            2. Need to change wiring, cdi, ignition coil?
            3. Air filter are same?
            4. Crank, gear ratios, chain sprocket, rectifier, battery are same?

To convert ZMA-R to ZMR you need to Add/Change the following :
              1. Add ECM of ZMR
              2. Add Fuel Pump, Injector ,O2 sensor
              3. Change Wire Loom to ZMR suit the new add -ons.
              4. Add Oil Cooler.
              5. Change Rotor to have CPS, along with sensor.

Hardware to support all add-ons and changes .....

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Hi guys, I was wondering the pros and con's of changing the front rim size of my bike into a 17 inch. Would this change be advisable? Has anyone done this on their karizma? If not can anyone advise me if I can fit a 90/90-18 front tires (IRC or Duro) on my bike?

Hero Zmar and HH Zmar are same... though Hero bought out a newer version with fugly looks and better performance with tech assistance from Eric Buell ( hope I got that right). Stay away from it. Go for a Zmar with least km on the odo.. do a test ride for about 5 or 10 km.
Since you are familiar with the Zmar you can see if there is anything amiss. If the bike is stock the better for you. After buying do a full service and ride it for some time. Identify any niggles.. and only then think about mods or diy. Better change things one at a time so that you can see whether that particular mod/change is good or not.
Battery upgrade, air filter upgrade ( diy possibility), h/l bulb upgrade, tyre upgrade etc are some things you can do later on.

I was waiting for some enthusiasts' reply. But nowadays there eems to be a lull in this thread. Seeing no response so far I am forced to reply. Points I hav noted are off the top of my hat. Guys.. please respond.

I think basic service is mandatory to just make the bike reliable(Long rides),
I can also ask the guys at workshop, To look for any critical replacments (airfilter, battery etc)

K&N / 3rd party airfilter require jetting right?

It will be really helpful if some one can suggest a good workshop where I can select the oil and other stuff. I had bad experiences in Hero(Honda) service centers in Bangalore.

                                Hi,
I finally got my ZMA R after service. I was getting a khat-khat sound from the engine earlier. Now she sounds better. The svc guys said it was due to the tensioner(lifter assy tensioner). And they have replaced it. But what I feel now is that she got a bit low performance than before. Earlier she used to reach 120 with no haste, but now she finds it really difficult in the same stretch.
Could it be because of the new change? Can you please let me know what could be the possible reason for this??
