Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I doubt that the old ZMA would be launched. It should ideally be the new one with improvements done on the high lift cam (to reduce the owners' headache) and some improvements to plastic to handle vibes. The bike wears an EBR 1190 RS look and hence it should look that way with EBR tinkered tech!Originally posted by sagar.sutar View PostGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I lost my patience with Hero HX250R so much so that I bought a Duke. Was waiting for it so eagerly. Loved the design of that bike. :<Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI doubt that the old ZMA would be launched. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
And I'm sure the pocket rocket is keeping you happy brother! Few things aren't even in the manufacturers' hand, especially when you rely on a 3rd party for tech. We heard that the launch was imminent last year but then EBR ran out of funds and HMC's products got stuck. Nobody knows what and why of the matter hence it would be wrong to speculate. Let's hope this diwali shines for Hero!Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostI lost my patience with Hero HX250R so much so that I bought a Duke. Was waiting for it so eagerly. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Finally got the issues rectified. Replaced all three cables replaced with new ones including accelerator a, b cable and clutch cables. Neutral switch wire was not properly fitted, now it is ok. Got chain and relevant parts lubricated.Originally posted by anmol_1990 View PostIs this neutral switch located inside the engine also?
My bike's handle bar was removed and installed again recently to fix the loose lock console. Could both of the issues resultant of because of that?
Also how to explain this clutch slack to a local bike mechanic? Do you mean the freeplay of the clutch lever? I am not taking my bike to Hero Service center and will visit my neighborhood mechanic. And is this sudden hard gearing because of the clutch slackness?
Total cost rs. 350
Gear shift quality improved, it is not much harder now.
However the mechanic was saying that the engine oil level is low. I opened the dip stick. The oil level mark is immersed with oil when the stick is fully screwed in but when it was checked without screwing in, the level mark is not showing oil, with little bit of touch on its tip only.
Oil was replaced recently around 200 kms back during service from Hero service station. Color of oil still looks fresh.
The mechanic has 20w40 grade oil which i didnt allow him to top up as my bike has stock hero 10w20 oil.
So what is the correct procedure to check oil level? Without screwing in the dip stick or with fully screwing in?

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I guess you meant 10w30 oil. Do you see smoke from the exhaust when revved hard? Maybe a case of bust oil seals or piston rings.Originally posted by anmol_1990 View PostThe mechanic has 20w40 grade oil which i didnt allow him to top up as my bike has stock hero 10w20 oil.

Oil level is checked with the bike kept on main stand for over 30 min and then dip stick kept in the unscrewed state.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
So is there any way to fix this new lock set to old karizma?Originally posted by phanikar View PostTo the benefit of all those who are changing the lock set of the pre 2007 Zma. Most service stations/Shops sell ZMR locks as Zma's . Make sure you get the lock set with a flat base and not the curved one in case of latter ones. We realized this when were partially restoring @SriramEfunds red Zma.
The post 2007 Zma and ZMR lock set is compatible with each other but not the pre 2007 model.
Here is a Pic for your reference
The actual Part number for the old model is 35010-KRY-900
the other part numbers for the Same lock set is
35010-KRY-930
35010-KRY-960
The difference being the Type of Key and color of the tank lock.

How this new lock set fitted to zmaOriginally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostAswin, I am not using any relay or twin windtone horns now. In 2008, I fitted twin windtones at a mod shop in Koti, Hyderabad. I was not aware at that time that they had cut the main wiring to accommodate relay and horns. Later after a year, I have removed everything at SVC and at that time I got to know that main wiring was cut. I asked them to seal it properly. The seal came off in the recent time and yesterday electricals gone kaput because of this. Today I cleaned everything with petrol and sealed it properly. Even cleaned the Bosch battery contacts with petrol and cleaned it thoroughly. Viola, all the problem solved. Previously, when I apply brakes, the pilot lamps and neutral indicator light used to dim. Now its gone completely. Also, with 55w headlight, pilots, and indicators, the horn doesn't honk properly (when under 3k rpm). Now With all the lights up, the horn is working well without any weakness.
So, the Bosch battery doing amazing work, still strong after 4 years.
Here is the picture of cut wire. Its under the tank. Observe the black wire that is cut.

And, as I opened everything, thought of changing the lockset (I had only a DUPLICATE key, which was not cut properly and is very blunt) as I lost original keys (Price INR 930).

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Technically. Yes. You can grind the edges and make it fit, but the downside is you will Increase the locking depth in the process, which also has to be looked into. But the time and money you spend on doing all these, is definitely not worth. If you have already bought and the seller is not accepting it, better sell it on OLX/Quickr and buy a suitable one. If the seller is accepting the return of good, then well and good, get it exchanged.Originally posted by aniket87 View PostSo is there any way to fix this new lock set to old karizma?
