I could not ascertain this since he Hero Mechanics are struggling with the flood affected bikes and lack of parts supply due to sudden increase in demand . In fact for the ZMA alone , one of the Service center had been waiting for the Full Meter console, which had been completely ruined due to flood for the past 2 months....and the quantity required by this one ASC for ZMA console is 300 nos...This is apart from the other bikes....so getting a reliable answer in near future seem impossible from the Hero Engineer.
    Thanks for the info sir.

      Hi everyone!

      My ZMA R's(2008) front fender had been cracked for many years now. The spare fender is not available in my city(rajkot) and ahmedabad, the reason i have been told it is due to the colour(sport red) for years.

      I have been thinking, whether later released ZMA R's or ZMR's front fender can be placed on my ZMA or not? Has anyone have tried/ have any idea regarding this.

      The only color of front fender available for my model is black. I have kept it as a last option.

        Get black fender.
        Get it painted at a booth to your bike colour.

            Started my Karizma after a long time ~ a month may be. Turned the ignition on, no lights, lcd power less. No horn, no self ... Tried kick starting it... It started in 2-3 attempts but then again it went off.... I checked all the fuses - all ok. Took it to nearby garage; mechanic told me that Karizma can not be started when the battery is zero % charged even with the kick. Is it so? He attached another battery and the bike started. I took it for a small 10 km ride to charge up the battery. Meanwhile battery is 2 + years old. But my bike is sparingly used since last 1.5 years ever since entered the IT corporate jungle!🙁

              He is right. All Morden bikes can't be started without battery even with kick.

              • Karizma Carburetor Issue

                Dear Everyone

                I brought a used HH ZMA R (2007) 2 months ago. I’ve been travelling a lot on the bike and I really enjoy it.

                But there is an issue with Carburetor. RPM is not going down as it should be. When I use Clutch while upshifting the gear at 4K RPM, The engine is accelerating itself to 4.25K RPM and staying there for f2-4 seconds. While decelerating there is jerking / uneven acceleration in between 2.5K-3K RPM. Bike is not giving the right performance; It is taking some efforts to reach 100KMPH+.(I used ZMA few years before and I fell in love with it, I know how it performs )
                It seems little bit of air is entering the engine intake somehow.

                I looked almost all the posts in this forum and tried below solutions.(Especially by PSR Sir, Aneesh, Ravi)

                *HH Service center, They can’t figure out the problem! Asked me to replace the Carburetor.
                * Carburetor Slide Cleaning
                * Checked Chocke Cable and Assembly.
                * Replaced Diaphragm
                * Checked AFR Screw.(3.5 turns and temporarily sealed AFR Screw hole with hot Glue and made sure air is not getting in that way.)
                * Checked TPS Switch Resistance.

                Yesterday I gave my bike to a local mechanic. He spent a day on cleaning the carburetor thoroughly and checking each and every O-Rings and seals are in the right place.
                Mechanic suggested swapping a Carburetor and confirming the issue. He told it can also be issue with the engine/valve.
                As we all know New Carb is not pocket friendly,

                Can any of you nice people give me any kind of solution to this issue?

                Thanks in Advance

                  If you have carb cleaner spray , do this .

                  raise idle to 3k .

                  Spray carb cleaner between carb and intake manifold. if rpm changes then you have a vacuum leak.

                  1.Replace all rubber tubing going to carb.
                  2.Replace intake manifold rubber, with new o ring.
                  3.Apply gasket sealant thin layer between carb and intake manifold before fixing.
                  4.Change Fuel screw set.

                  See if it works
                  Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)

                      RPM is not stable at 3K RPM its fluctuating and rising agreseevly.

                      Can I use a alcohol based deodorant instead of Carb cleaner? (Sorry for the naive question, i guess a bit of alcahol might not spoil the piston/valves)

                        Since your question has been answered, I would like to give a suggestion to disconnect and isolate the battery terminals if your are not going to use the bike, lets say for a month, that way it won't get drained quickly.

                        Indeed there will be more power and torque when you switch to ZMA from FZ. Will it be worth it? for this question, you personally have to ride ZMA, so that you can get answers for your needs and since your are going for used bike, its performance will depend on the conditions of the bike.

                        Ride safe brother.

                          1. Check the Throttle cables esp., the "B" cable and change both.
                          2. Check for air leak in manifold..crack in the carburetor isolator coupling.
                          3. Check the Air cut off valve...when you open it and find trace of petrol..then the diaphragm is punctured...

                          Most probably it is the throttle cable which is binding due to moisture absorption and rust formation..
                          Good luck..

                            Thanks bro.
                            Did test ride of the bike.Couldnt take it out on open road.
                            The bike is 2007 make and the fool was riding without airfilter.Performance was marginally better than fz.
                            It felt light and nimble and easy to cut traffic.But didnt get the power i was expecting.
                            Bike has done 31 k kms and engine is intact.

                                I highly doubt that you can replace the Keihin carb with the Mikuni one. Even if the venturi/intake manifold sizes are similar, jets are different. And internals for both is slightly different.
                                Overall, you need more fuel and air to be pumped in for increase in performance.
                                If you manage that, you may observe a slight improvement. Not much since exhaust is the same.
                                For P220 like performance, you need a P220 engine + Mikuni + Exhaustec end can.
