Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Hey!! Found this pretty old post of your's but didn't see any further updates on RTR Disc installation on ZMA. Had any issues fitting them?Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostSame issue, my rotor was scratched up pretty bad, due to delayed break pad replacement. Replaced with RTR pads and they got over even before I knew it, now when I brake at high speeds sparks fly from the front, and I hear an awful sound as well. I've ordered RTR Petal Disk from TVS SVC, costs around 1.2k they were'nt sure about the exact cost. Its a direct fit for the ZMA, after it arrives will then try to go for the N250R pads. In short braking Nirvana!
Edit - RTR Rotor will not fit

Since this question has not been answered, I am just giving you a suggestion, to keep it as it is as you are not going to use it regularly, unless it is causing any performance issue.
I do not know how to replace it, but ASC is always there as a last option, at least screw will be replaced there.

Missed this since the thread hasn't been too active of late. You can buy a new AFR screw set from a Hero parts store. It will come with the AFR screw, spring, metal washer and o-ring seal.Originally posted by Ashish Jaishwal View PostHello Sir...

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
This is my first post in this thread. I own a used HH Karizma 2012 model, acquired in the month of July 2015. The bike has clocked close to 32000kms till date. The bike was running completely fine. Recently the bike feels so sluggish in picking up speed. Earlier it used to clock speeds of 110 kmph (haven't tried above that yet) effortlessly. But now it takes a long time in hitting speeds close to even 90 kmph. The bike is regularly serviced at Hero authorized SVC. I had changed my spark plug to NGK G-power, which I had purchased from an authorized NGK distributor. No other changes done apart from the plug change. Bike is still running in stock. What could be the reason for this ? Is the spark plug change causing this? Pls help.Jet Set Go!!!
My Rides :
Bajaj Discover 135 DTS-i (2008 June - 2015 July)
Bajaj Pulsar 220F (2014 Nov - Till date)
Hero Honda Karizma R 2012 model (2015 July - Till date)

If the pick-up is sluggish, it could be either a dirty carb or worn clutch plates.Originally posted by VR. View PostThis is my first post in this thread. Thanks for the response.Originally posted by AK3D View PostIf the pick-up is sluggish, it could be either a dirty carb or worn clutch plates.
Dust accumulation in Carb or something of that sort is what you mean ?
And about the clutch plates, do they get worn out around 32000 kms ?
What is the usual replacement interval of the clutch plates ?Jet Set Go!!!

Use a carb cleaner to clean the gunk from the carb that accumulates over time, can be due to bad fuel and other things. Ensure the slide is moving freely. You should refer (or read the entire) to this thread as all these topics have been covered earlier.Originally posted by VR. View PostThanks for the response.

Clutch plates, like any mechanical component do not have a fixed life.. they can wear out at 20K or even 50-60K depending on usage etc. You would need to find out the issue with the bike. Again, reading this thread, at least from page 300 to 400 onwards will help your knowledge greatly and you'll be able to identify issues.
Super, Phanikar! Noticed the CEAT Zoom R. How's it holding up?Originally posted by phanikar View PostBack after a brief exile from the thread.
would like to share a small ownership experience
Havent ridden the zma for few months now, held up with a lot of commitments off late. But that would be compensated in the next few months

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Hi everyone. After a long time I am riding my ZMA again. I moved to Bangalore last year and bought a Honda Civic VMT here, and was using it for commutes as well as trips. My 2010 ZMA was kinda left back in some other city for more than an year and I just got it back from there.
Can anyone direct me to a good mechanic/shop where I can get my bike restored?
The fairing is broken from most places (visor gone, reflector burnt), I would like to get it replaced -- or change it with some circular dome (round headlights of some older bikes) or something I have seen on many ZMA's.
I might need to get the engine checked as well, timing chain and the cam tensioner, also there is some noticeable oil leak from the chamber. I am also planning to change the suspension rods if they are damaged or need to be changed. I am looking for decent brake pads as well.
I am willing to spend money on it, if I can ride it with peace for at least another 2-3 years of course with proper care and maintenance.
P.S.: Suggestions from Kerala or Chennai are also welcome, I can fix the basic problems and can ride till there to get it modded.

More than money, you will have to spend some time on getting your beauty back in to shape. As PSR sir has posted above, get in touch with @phanikar anna.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostHi everyone. After a long time I am riding my ZMA again. If you stay near Bashyam Circle (Rajajinagar), then that would be a blessing in disguise.
For the plastic parts, if the connecting pieces are still available and just broken, you can use Araldite else you may have to get it welded. Fiber welding that is.
Reflector can be bought new (stock or round as per your wish). Keep in mind that round headlamps will have better throw but you'd need to devise a cover for the console since the stock windscreen would no longer fit.
For engine checkup, you can take your bike to Phanikar anna's mech. Get in touch with him.
All the best!
