One doubt though, if its functioning affects by wrong clearance of microns then how will I trust if the mechanic has placed it correctly? Any specific way to check it before bolting crankcase cover?

Change o ring or Change the AFR screw itself.
I've already changed the afr screw a week before, reason behind replacing the afr screw was, during a trip of 140 km the screw has pop out from the carburetor, screw was not lost as it stuck between the chasis and engine, but the spring and o-ring was dropped somewhere.
Regarding the air leaking, i found one solution on this forum only, i putted some grease on the mouth of the screw hole and got the temparoray solution, but i am still in search of a permanent solution.
Thank you.

Yes , it is a hall sensor, i dont know whats the clearance though , you need to find it in CRF230 manual , i guess its around 0.1-0.2mmOriginally posted by ankit.traveller View PostThanks a lot Rohit for the pic. You can mail hero directly or ask a friend from other state to send you one. PS: The coil has different brands in Hero itself, Nippon, IND NIPP and one more i forgot. So read the markings of coil properly firstOriginally posted by ankit.traveller View PostPulse coil not available anywhere in lucknow. Niether at any ASC nor at UP sole distributer of Hero parts. Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
I already asked distributer to get this from other state dealer. I paid him 500/- advance also. Lets see. Anyways my hope ignited again...thanks to all of you...even if i buy new bike, I will not sell my zma. It will be a experiment bike for learning.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostYou can mail hero directly or ask a friend from other state to send you one. Ankit- Since you had made mind of selling the bike so i was not replying. But seeing your change of mind, i decided to reply.
As for your problem, let me doesn't any bike can get into same problem?
What if your next bike is having same problem?
There is solution to every problem. Just the symptom can help to pin point the problem.
Your problem is not solved because none can diagnose it.
My joy had a unique problem. It would run smoothly but suddenly it will mis current and shut down. Then suddenly it would start back as if nothing happened.
It took me and my mechanic to catch the fault as much as 2 months.
So i want some basic questions answered:-
1. When did the problem start?
From new or after some kilometers.
2. How is the problem?
Regular or intermittent.
3. When is the problem occurring?
Pulling under load or cruising.
4. How is the problem feeling?
Is it like petrol getting over or is it like when you are switching on -off the ignition while bike is running.
And list of works done to solve the problems.
Give me these details and i will give the solution in 3 days.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Thanks a lot Sibun for your intervention. Indeed I made my mind to sell my zma but not getting good value and "pulse coil" and motivation from this thread ignited my hope to retain my steed and try to resolve. Atleast I will not sell even if buy new bike. Have emotions attached with my zma. Please find below answers for questions you asked-Originally posted by sibun View PostAnkit- Since you had made mind of selling the bike so i was not replying. *1. When did the problem start?
Problem started or identified by me after 100 kms from the purchase date in sept 2013.
*2. How is the problem?
Intermittent. It can come anytime.
*3. When is the problem occurring?
Pulling under load between 4k to 5k rpm or precisely between 60 to 70 kmph. Below 4k and after 5k rpm no issues. More felt on gradients (hills) and when wind blast from opposite (head on) direction.
*4. How is the problem feeling?
Its like petrol getting over for just a moment. Suppose from standstill acceleration while upshifts and just after slotting 4th gear or 5th gear and twist the throttle a sudden just jerk happen between 4k to 5k rpm for just a moment . Not in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear.
suppose I am cruising at 60kmph in 5th gear and if I give little aggresive throttle then this jerk happen between 60-70 kmph but if I m cruising at 70kmph and then give little aggresive throttle then bike surge ahead smoothly till top end.
Continous Jerky feeling on cruising at 65-70 kmph.
on mountain roads where there is continous gradients this jerk comes at slow speeds and lower gears also but here too only between 4k to 5k rpm in any gear.
* list of works done to solve the problems-
Apart from regular service like oil change at every 3k kms ( used mineral till 10k kms after that shell ultra fs till date), air filter and sparker replacement at every 5k kms intervals, tappet settings, choke/throttle cable replacement, replacement of clutch plates and chain sprocket set at 25k odo, I have done following things-
1. Changed carburetor in warranty in july 2014 but no effect.
2. Cleaned fuel tank with fuel filter many times, changed different fuel pumps for adulterated fuel ruling out.
3. Cleaned carb slide thoroughly 4 times. After cleaning slide symptom go away for 50-100 kms but again come back.
4. 6 months back I changed HT coil with carb slide cleaning and new spark plug and had a trip to mukteshwar(uttarakhand) 800 kms to check, and problem was gone even on gradients but again after 2k kms almost, problem reappeared.
5. Since last 3 months entire wiring has been checked by 3 different ASCs but no probs diagnosed.
6. Swapped CDI and TPS of other zma but no gains.
7. Recently stator coil changed with new one along with thorough carb cleaning but no gain.
No mods has been done apart from tubeless tyre setup of zmr just after purchase. Front size is 80/100-18 instead of 2.75-18.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Hello guys.
I would like to share my experience regarding my bike's performance.
May be most of guys here knew the solution which i did to my bike, but i want to share it as i know the pain when bike don't perfrom well and you not find any solution.
My ZMA was not performing well since few weeks even after tuning the carb. , changing the spark plug, fitted new filter etc etc.
So i decided to inspect it personally.
I found the spark plug wire which come through the ignition coil corroded, the copper strains are covered with white coloured powder which means it was oxidised with water.
Hence i replaced it with new one swiss made wire and the performance has returned from engine side, though my bike still needs some maintenance from outer side.
Thank you.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
These look like symptoms related to fueling and the parts i'd check would be:Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostPulling under load between 4k to 5k rpm or precisely between 60 to 70 kmph. 1. air filter -- just remove the air filter and ride the bike without it for a few km to check if the issue persists
2. Carb - these bikes are notorious for the sticky slide, and apart from that remove and get the jets cleaned (Are you sure the jets are the correct size and that the needle is in good shape?), and get the carb tuned correctly. (or why don't you give the afr adjustment screw a 1/4 turn either way and check?)
Am leaning more towards the carb because you say on cleaning the slide it works. Could you try using an additive like system g (at 2ml per litre for one tank full)?
3. Vacuum leak -- check around the carb boots/intake manifold for any hole or improper sealing (the black rubber thingy that goes from air filter to carb). a bit of googling will show you how to diy check for vacuum leak.
You already have swapped the cdi/tps so am assuming those are good.

1. I tried removing air filter and ride for 2-3 kms but issue remains.
2. Whole carb unit changed in warranty once in july 2014 but after 100 kms of change problem reappeared. Afr settings has been adjusted in many perm and comb.
Also tried system g once in tankful during my 1400km trip to munsiyari.
3. air box to carb boot though not checked for vaccum leak by spray method but tightened its screw many times.
Could a vaccum piston slide get deposits for a sticky movement in a matter of 50-100 kms even just after changing to new carb or every cleaning of slide??
