Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
This is due to the Master cylinder piston " O " ring failure. You can get the whole master cylinder piston with O ring as a set and replace...the problem will keep repeating till total failure, so attend to it ASAP.Originally posted by Om1234 View PostWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
I have karizma 2004 model
Recently i have completed periodic service. The service guy did the following
Replaced air filter, accelerator cables, clutch cable, choke cable, rear wheel bearings, engine oil, air cleaner tube(which connect air filter to carburetor), clutch disk and plate
Also he replaced AFR SCREW and CLEANED CARBURETOR
Used Hero oem spare parts only
After that my bike is showing strange behavior.
RPM is not stable while riding. Showing missing at low RPM.
Engine vibration is more than before. Cant touch 100kmph
When i press clutch for gear shifting, RPM will increase automatically till release clutch.
Fuel efficiency is not in a constant range. It was giving 40-44kmpl before. Now varies from 27 - 33kmpl.
I asked the service guy & he is simply saying everything is normal.
Kindly help me to find out and rectify these issues
Thanks in advanceLast edited by jithin911; 05-09-2018, 08:56 AM.

1. Ensure, the Air Filter is seated properly
2. Make sure there is NO LEAK in the Snorkel ( Air tube) between the Air filter box and Carburetor. esp., where it is stuck to the Air filter Box.
3. Enough slack is there in the throttle cable to ensure zero cable binding.
4. Choke cable is also having 10mm play to ensure full closing of choke when it is at rest.
5. Adjust AFR screw Anti Clockwise to 3 full turns(360 degrees) after gently threading it Clockwise in fully till it stops..Do this Gently as otherwise you may break the threads ...
Good Luck..When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
The culprit might be the drain hole inside the petrol tank cap which might be clogged due to rusting or some blockage. Get it cleaned and check if water is flowing through the pipe connected to the hole. Even my bike is exposed to heavy rains but no water seeps inside.Originally posted by rydergeorge View PostHey guys,
Today I found that water is leaking to petrol tank through keyhole of petrol tank lid when raining and washing.
What should I do?
Or chances are the rubber bush around the petrol tank might be busted.
If the problem is as you suggest, then replacing it is the ultimate solution.Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

I swapped carburetor from my friend’s zma, all issues are gone and engine working smoothly without any missing.
Hope the issue is with my carburetor.
Any chance to repair the carburetor or i have to buy a new one ?

I would really love to know what would happen if you spray WD40 on your AFR screw when the motor is adequately warm and the RPM has started to fluctuate.Originally posted by jithin911 View Post@psr Sir, i have checked each points which you mentioned in earlier post, found everything normal.

I will try to apply wd40 on AFR screw and let you know the result.
Thank you

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
I understand that you've replaced the AFR screw but if the cavity develops a leak then that wont help and you'll have to replace your carburetor regardless of using a new screw set.Originally posted by jithin911 View PostAFR screw was replaced last week.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Good that you have been able to isolate the problem to the source ie., the Carburetor...The air cut off valve at the side of carb can also cause this problem. To find out block the INSIDE of the vacuum hose coming into the Aircut off valve , and keep it connected. Better still replace air cut off valve diaphragm and install. Now check for problems...if problem continues then check for throttle slide being sticky or worn out .Originally posted by jithin911 View Post@psr Sir, i have checked each points which you mentioned in earlier post, found everything normal.

I have checked vacuum hose, no block found inside.
I am able to open air cut off valve cover. Found diaphragm is not in good shape(Not Sure).
Attaching some pics of diaphragm and carburetor

Sir, which engine oil is good for 2004 model karizma?
Now I am using hero 4T plus 10w30 engine oil.
I read one of your old post. In that, you mentioned 20w40 engine oil is recommended for karizma till 2005 model.
Kindly help me on this too
