Put some petroleum jelly (vaseline) on the battery terminals.
Most of the battery shop guys do this to cars.
    thanks for suggestion.

thanks for advice dinesh but my problem is with odo not the wire as i can hear it clearly the noise from top not bottum however ill change the plastic gear as well and see if it improves and my speed tooth is also not stable on any speed as its going up and down a bit as well...

        • hero honda sucks

I own a karizma bike for over 4 years now and I conclude that hero honda as a company sucks. The bike started giving me noise problems right after it's first year.the fibre/plastic used in the bike is disgusting.I had a fiero previously and I never suffered the same from it.If hero honda doesn't know how to manufacture good fibre then they should simply stick to bikes like splendor etc X(

The spare parts coz TOO MUCH!!! the taxes or rather I should say the cost for hiring almost whole of the indian team and hrithik roshan is being extorted from us by their spare parts. Not only they cost 5-6 times more than other brands but they suck in their quality terms too.

Personally I ll boycott this company from now onwards coz as a customer I hated the most of their service centers they have. They ****ing want rs 100 to change a air filter which takes hardly 10 mins when I,as a customer replace it myself.I mean wtf is wrong?

Never mind the cheapskate talk, maybe it's just me but again as I wanted to conclude - HERO HONDA YOU SUCK! Specially your OSWAL AGENCIES center in gt karnal road, north delhi.

I drive the bike coz i dont want to get another 220 cc engine with bajaj s pulsar and I LOVE THE BIKING PLEASURE ONLY over cars.Specially because of the pathetic traffic conditions here.On the positives the karizma is very comfortable bike ,decene mileage, fine acceleration, fine looks but then i always have to plug in music to my ears to ignore the clattering sound the bike always makes.
          Biking is transcendental evolution.

When your last fuel bar start blinking you will have atleast 1.6-1.8 litre petrol above reserve .It is normal for all Karizmas . So after your last fuel bar started blinking you can still ride the bike another 56-60 Km depending on your bikes mileage. After that the bike will stop and you have to change the fuel knob to Reserve .So it is completly normal .
The trip meter is getting reset as your battery is too low and you are continosly using self start which will weeken the battery .
How old is your battery ? If it is more than 1 year then it is due a change.
Else get your battery recharged in next service .
And use the kicker when you start in the morning .
But mine was having this problem till i change my battery .
Now i am not facing this issue

thanks bro...i got this bike a second hand and the model is '05...so no clues how old the battery is..and it seems to b a some local one...company name is even difficult to read due to some chou-mou style...however there is no problem while starting even after 2 weeks of rest... odo is 25k...so what could be the actual possiblity should i change the battery as the feul indicator starts blinkig exactly when it reasches the reserve bar and i have heard it from fello xpbhpans that it does stay on last solidly on reserve bar and then later it blinks..is it my misunderstanding or again a blessing

Don't you think 1 year is a little too less. Mine is 1 year eight months old. Still going strong. I only use electric start as I have removed the kicker when bike is still new. Not to mention that I did about half my riding at night with lights on.

Itching to change to 9amp battery but the stock battery is still very good .

Btw my bike starts with first click 99.9% of the time. So maybe I'm draining less battery that way .

                    • Guys,

My karizma is 6 months & 5100 kms old.
Since I tour a lot and I like riding in nights, I am considering lighting upgrade.

I first thought of changing stock halogen to OSRAM/Phillips bulbs but these days bi-xenons are a buzz.
I was thinking of installing bi-xenons+projector as it looks nice & heard projectors help utilize bi-xenons better with less blinding effect on oncoming traffic.

I inquired in Mumbai about this setup & many shops responded it is a direct fit with total cost up to 4 grands.

                      My query here is,
? Will this upgrade void my warranty, asked a guy in SVC & he said electricals are anyway not covered in warranty
? Is it a viable upgrade, I need best lighting.
? I know 4300K is the legal range for bi-xenons & I will be sticking to the same, any good bi-xenons (H4) bulb you guys know
? Can the same setup be done in Bengaluru (since I am working here)

If you are getting projectors, HID is the right choice. And yes, projectors helps control the lights to focus properly. HID in conventional headlight reflectors disperse lights to blinding effect for oncoming traffic. Also H4 Bi-Xenon is the way to go as you will have only one headlight that will do duty for both Hi-Lo. 4300K is best as any higher provides poor visibility against street lights and especially during rain. Installation is fairly easy, but if you are unfamiliar with wirings, better let mechanics fix it for you.

Hope you are aware that full projector headlight assembly is available for Karizma.

                        Don;t know about warranty.

Here I have 2 doubts in my mind

                          * Are HIDs & Xenon lights different from each other? I thought they are same.
                          * full projector headlight assembly - Happy to know that. Any reference in Mumbai?

Yup, one and the same HID 'High Intensity Discharge' bulbs are filled with Xenon gases instead of filament. Matter of preference on how to call them. But my haunch is HID is a more correct term.

Hasn't been out shopping for a very long time so don't know about availability in Mumbai. But try this link "fcunit.com - projector lamps - Projector lamps For bikes/Scooters"
