sir am not an expert in this but all i know is that by using lighter chain=less weight load on sprockets.Originally posted by psr View PostHow will it improve performance ?...your sprocket ratio is the same and a thinner than recommended chain can elongate or break under load stress.
And about the wear and tear, am using the same sprocket from past 6k kms with out any cover in a non stock bike(ported, overbored, ffe, rejetted and some other stuffs ). Means i have every single unfavourable conditions which can spoil the chain but still Its going good and If this set last for some 17k kms then its kinda vasool na any way, i would like to wait and watch.Emergency Medicine and Management

My bike has covered 11,000 KM, when the engine is hot, very little tuck tuck sound comes when engine is idling, though sound is very small. Is this related to tappet issue or what?"Biking is Divine"

oh... I guess i would have to open it up and see or look at pics or something...Originally posted by vineeth areth View Posttough task. You may have to change the whole panel and the bulb underneath it. Yes changing the bulb is possible but that yello surface??
I think the bulb is normal amber coloured one, its the panel surface which colour the whole unit into yello.
ohh, Im sure if i just change the bulbs to a really bright white one, then it will prolly look more brighter yellowOriginally posted by vikashsree14341 View Posti would say better stick to stock bro..
changing the lights cn be done but itz bit tuf job.. i once thought of doing it bt mi mechanic said bttr dont alter ny thing or u will end with an damaged lights
I found the blue pulsar one... but no luck on the karizma lights....Originally posted by anmol_1990 View PostIf i remember someone from xbhp has done this mod to their karizma andm pulsar, search here on xbhp other forums, u will find out.

Thanks. Am quiet fanatical about maintaining my chain. This is one reason I have it opened. This way I can see the whenever it requires adjustment or cleaning easily.Originally posted by psr View PostYou had maintained the Bike and it's drive train properly, and THAT makes a significant difference...
No. Its got a built-in camera directly linked to internetOriginally posted by vineeth areth View Postjust one doubt, are you guys sitting besid your bike with its front sprocket cover opened ? Just curious because of your instant response with pictures
. Seriously, I clean them quiet often, this ones the most recent and co-incidentally, I happen to take pictures.
Same thought here and I believe it will definitely boost performance marginally. Though I am incline to believe that wear and tear will hardly make a difference and will depend more on the material than the chain. My reason, consider this, a 100-150 cc bike with pillion will be putting more stress on the chain than my Zma without pillion which btw is almost always. And those smaller bikes that regularly carries pillion seems to be doing fine.Originally posted by vineeth areth View Postsir am not an expert in this but all i know is that by using lighter chain=less weight load on sprockets.

Yes wait and watch.....but how we ride the bike also matters.Originally posted by vineeth areth View Postsir am not an expert in this but all i know is that by using lighter chain=less weight load on sprockets.
The sprocket load is from the engine drive and the load of the bike..not the chain

It is likely to be the tappet noise ..get it checked at SVCOriginally posted by anmol_1990 View PostMy bike has covered 11,000 KM, when the engine is hot, very little tuck tuck sound comes when engine is idling, though sound is very small. Is this related to tappet issue or what?

Hence it is in good maintenance and condition

It is all about the power and torque of the engine..will these 100cc do 0-60 in under 5 sec...which ZMA can do.....if you still want to know...start moving the ZMA in 2nd gear with pillion, and try the same with other bikes.
If there is even Rs.1/- to be saved the manufacturer will do it..since profit is the motivation of business..Last edited by psr; 03-29-2011, 12:31 PM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

help me to choose between rtr180 and zma
I am totally confused...
I travel almost 35-50 kms daily by bike and long ride on month end frm delhi to my home town which is 110 kms (approx) from delhi + I wud love to go for rides ranging frm 500 to 1000 kms ocassionaly Kindly let me know which is better option regarding performance, reliablity, build quality, maintainence cost, mileage and comfort ie overall package.
Also let me know which is better in terms of reliablity and build quality (fit and finish, quality of parts and paint job) as these two points are my priority coz i don like to visit service station for small niggles and this will be my first bike outside hero honda brand
i just love karizma coz of its road presence, smoothness and refinement but all my frends says it is low on feature list as compared to bikes like rtr180 and p220 and it is quite heavy on pocket due its mileage and maintainece cost (like its spares are very expensive) but i guess it will be hassle free then other bikes as its hero honda and it will not require spares very often in front of rtr and pulsars
so please through some lite on the pros and cons of zma
also let me know which will suit me better in terms of looks according to my height and weight(coz some of my friends who have apaches always points me that karizma will not suit you)
my height is 5.9 feet and weight is 70-72 kgsLast edited by Naveen1985; 03-29-2011, 11:08 PM.sigpic

Even critics admits to Zma's capability for long rides/tours, reliability, built quality and comfort. Though its known to be little more thirsty than its competitors. There are better options for sheer performance like P220, R15.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostI am totally confused...

Bike India rate Zma as, and I quote "The most well-rounded performance bike around".
If anything, Honda, HH and Yamaha are known to be among the best in term of reliability and quality.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostAlso let me know which is better in terms of reliablity and build quality (fit and finish, quality of parts and paint job) as these two points are my priority coz i don like to visit service station for small niggles and this will be my first bike outside hero honda brand
Heavy on pocket seems to be misplaced as per my experience. Spares are expensive, though if you don't change as often, it comes to about the same thing as cheaper spares that required more change. I haven't change anything major on my 21k Zma apart from disc pads, air filter, clutch cable, brake switch and speedo cable. Mind you, they were changed only once each.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Posti just love karizma coz of its road presence, smoothness and refinement but all my frends says it is low on feature list as compared to bikes like rtr180 and p220 and it is quite heavy on pocket due its mileage and maintainece cost (like its spares are very expensive) but i guess it will be hassle free then other bikes as its hero honda and it will not require spares very often in front of rtr and pulsars

Everything else is same as it came from factory. Other owners can comment on their respective bikes.
Why not suit you? Too small for you? Too big? I am 5.7 62 kgs. And I incline to think Zma is quiet small.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Postalso let me know which will suit me better in terms of looks according to my height and weight(coz some of my friends who have apaches always points me that karizma will not suit you)
