700 I got mine from hero honda service center for 100. seal in honda packet with genuine sticker and all. I purchased a couple of things so I didn't check them bill, though on the pack its written Rs.100. Is it possible they are selling duds. btw I haven't changed the rear shoes yet as the stock is still going strong. I'm quiet surprised you guys are wearing out your rear brakes so fast. I always use both front and rear, with bias to the front, hence front was replaced.

    • taking fire.. need assisstance..

hey karizma owners.. from some time i'm facing a problem in my zma-r.. when i start the bike i need to assist it with slight accelerator.. if i simply press the starter, it won't start.. can't figure out the problem yet.. is it spark plug problem, or choke lever problem or carburetor problem..?? i got my bike serviced from a HH service centre. the guy said that he has cleaned the spark plug and the carburetor but the problem still persist..
Also the RPM needle don't stay fixed.. means if i rest my bike after a long ride, the RPM goes very down from the previously set value (i.e from 1.5 it drops down to 1)...
Also sometimes when i start the bike in morning, RPM value goes very high upto 3..
This problem is irritating me.. please help..

follow this method. No throttle - > open full choke - > press starter - > leave choke on for 10-30 seconds - > ride on.

bro that is actually (ek number ki copy) which is available everywhere even at service centers and trust me that the drum break can not last more then front disc pads...front pads for disc Nissin make cost 2750 inr and they are good for 7k km only...and even hero honda plastic spares are not exactly like the stock parts as there are many manufactures that make parts for them and they put HH seal and sell it with huge margin
just like Nokia mobile body assembly spares

Lemmi step in here, as my bike is done recently..

a few months ago i got my rear shoes changed for 100 bucks from HH Svc (sealed pack original). little did i know, that they were meant for splendor or other low weight bikes, they wore out in 3 months..

Recently, i spent a lot on my bike and know the price of each and every spare part.
I knew the head mech. well from where i got the engine and other things done, he told me, for Zma there are different brake shoes which cost 240/- (sealed pack original)
the braking efficiency has gone up by folds..
as for the front disk pads, its been around 25K Kms and they seem fine.(My bike is 56K kms old)

a neat option for Disk pads are the Apache RTR disk pads.. much cheaper.

I guess you are facing issues for the clutch lever and not the toe shifter..
Well, for the lever, you dont need to tighten it,
The clutch requires a certain amount of play, if u tighten it, you wont get anywhere, but end up with worn out clutch plates. your bike would get heated up quickly, would over-race for the same speed you could achieve at a lower RPM..

Its not like you can decrease the strength of the Springs that push the plates, you'd have to get the wire adjusted by a mech. if u are finding it difficult to adjust it yourself.

Bro mech himself changed the clutch wire when it broke lately and adjusted as well...and unless i tighten the wire in full the gears are jammed to a hard push to change...plz help

                    • ^^^ most common sign of clutch wear is that.....though the engine RPM is increasing but the speed is not with comparison to RPM. Nut i think 33k is little early for zma clutch to wear out (may be im wrong). its cost arnd 1-2 K.

I changed my clutch plates and pressure plates at 33k for Rs1150 including service charge from service center. I felt the improvement in initial pickup. To check plates, at stop give the throttle and release the clutch suddenly at 4.5k-6k rpm the power release will be slow if your clutchplate is wornout. Be careful while doing this.

Well no idea about this, but one more symptom of worn clutch plates is less mileage and often overheating of engine.
