Rite now i'm running on stock headlamps, but i have also got HID kit with the bike(included in on road price), Should i get it fixed? what is the difference between a halogen and a HID?
Halogen is the conventional filament type bulb with a different gas inside to give out more light than normal for the same wattage. HID is a different technology. It has pressurized gas and is ignited with an arc of high voltage, with the help of a ballast and switcher circuit, and then sustains the arc as a continuous light of ionized gas.
While the Halogen draws continuous current, the HID draws high current initially and then drops down. A 35 watts HID will give the power of more than 50 watts halogen but consume only 35 watts..It is also much cooler running than Halogen .It is more efficient and provides more powerful light output.A halogen can work with AC voltage also. HIDs will work with only DC.
Get HID fixed by proper knowledgeable Mech preferably at the A.S.S.since it was billed with the bike.

9ah is any day better than 7ah. The current 7ah is underpowered for this bike.

        • I hope many of you have ridden a P220. The following is a post from a fellow xBHPian on the P220 thread. I am not trying to start a brand war so please post in a constructive / unbiased manner. I have very little experience with the ZMA / ZMA-R hence posted here.

Karizma is just any other bike with an added fairing and nothing else.
Road grip and braking of 220 is superb and better than any other INDIAN made bike.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Btw, 9ah is not a direct fit though, its slightly bigger. So some minor work will be required.
but new karizma zma-r 2011 is coming with 6ah battery only but its a maintainence free battery....
it means battery on new karizma is weak or its ok....???????

Yeah it needs to be opened ..
inside it there will be a pin which will come in contact with the neutral plate which will be placed in d engine at top of gear pinions

if u wont get light 3 reasons

                            * the light might have gone inside the meter (it wont go dat easily)

                            * if the wire attached to the PIN is gone then itz hardly 10 mins work..

                            * If the plate inside the engine is gone then 1 day work
plate cost 8 INR bt service charge is 600 INR

( if ur bike is in warranty then go for SC it will be better )

                              * before getting it changed Once give it for charging nd see wht happens..
                              * Check the Voltage of the battery it must be 13v nd above ..if it stays below 13v then itz gone

Checked the battery,it has 13.11 V ,he told me that ,the water needs to be changed and he charged me 30rs Seems like the battery is ok!
