No The ZMA has tons of torque and so pulls the chain with great force and the sprocket wears out.It has only 17Bhp from 223cc but look at its torque. If you want to experiment, try moving normally with pillion in second gear....ZMA will move like it is in First gear...In your case the wear is just beginning,so will go for another 5K atleast.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostRan only 13700kms now, worn out earlier?
You can try 14 teeth sprocket for front or drop 2 teeth at back with Pulsar sprocket...I am searching for correct details, so cannot tell you model or part number now. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

but sir now his bike is at 13.5k, another 5k means 17.5k. From my experience i learned that Zma's sprockets are good enough for 20-23k kms.(i used to clean and lubricate it every 700kms). Presently am using achiever's front sprocket(14t ), unicorn's rear sprocket(43t) and chain.Originally posted by psr View PostNo The ZMA has tons of torque and so pulls the chain with great force and the sprocket wears out.It has only 17Bhp from 223cc but look at its torque. If you want to experiment, try moving normally with pillion in second gear....ZMA will move like it is in First gear...In your case the wear is just beginning,so will go for another 5K atleast.

yeah.but that is my fault, i dont know much about chain lubing and cleaning when i bought the bike.so i will give my bike to svc and told them to do regular service,They didn't cleaned my chain till 12k,after that i came to know about this and started cleaning chain and lubing it myself(Special thanks to mohsin),Is it due to this my sprocket had worn out earlier?

Increasing one tooth at front increases final drive ratio,ie., you will achieve same speeds at approx.,500 rpm less than before. and dropping 2 or 3 teeth at rear sprocket has the same effect..it is all about ratios..Advantages ? well you will cruise at higher speeds at lesser RPM and bike will not be stressed .But beyond a level your top end will actually drop due to the engine unable to Rev to higher RPM, and the bike load will either lead to clutch slip or engine RPM cannot go up due to loading beyond design.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostWhat are the advantages of using these sprockets?

You had maintained the Bike and it's drive train properly, and THAT makes a significant difference...Originally posted by kaynmantis View PostInteresting discussion going on on sprocket. Here's a pic of my front sprocket. Has done 21k. Both front and back are in same condition. Been running without chain cover since day one. Seems good to me. What do you think? When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
